HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Very friendly guy with a great personality; loves meeting new people when he's out and about - Previous family said he loves to snuggle, likes to sleep under the covers, and follows his people everywhere - Likes playing ball - Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Knows sit and was fully housetrained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine- Lived with teenagers in a previous home, but young, noisy or busy children may be too much for him (mature home recommended) - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs and can be a little pushy but may do well with a dog friend who can handle that; in his previous home did not like to share his food, treats or toys with other dogs, so some management - for example, feeding separately - may be needed if he goes to a home with another dog (dog intro required)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing a primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 92 Age: 4yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Aubrey is a sweet, playful girl who loves to play ball and run around, making her a great match for an active home. She’s especially motivated by treats and enjoys any opportunity for a tasty reward. Aubrey can be a little shy at first, so she’ll need to meet new people multiple times to feel comfortable, but once she warms up, her loving personality really shines. She is heartworm tested, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to find a patient, caring family to call her own. 🐾

Story
Spike came to us as a stray, patiently waiting and hoping his family would come back for him. While he waited, he showed everyone here just how loving and loyal he truly is — and now he’s ready to start a brand-new chapter with a family of his own. 🐾 Spike is full of playful energy and loves to zoom around to burn off some excitement. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He absolutely loves attention, especially tummy rubs, and enjoys being close to the people he trusts. Because of his strength and enthusiastic spirit, Spike would do best in a calm, adult-only home where he can have consistency, structure, and plenty of opportunities to play and bond. With the right person by his side, he’ll make a devoted, fun-loving companion. Spike’s adoption fee includes his vaccines, neuter, and microchip — he’s ready to head home and start his fresh beginning. If you’re looking for an energetic, affectionate dog who will reward your patience with endless loyalty and love, come meet Spike today. He’s ready to find the adult home where he truly belongs. ❤️🐕

Story
I came to the shelter with another dog and a cat. I love playing with rope toys and having room to run and explore. I'm potty trained and already know my basic commands. I'm an active, fun companion who would love a family that will keep me busy, continue my training, and give me plenty of love and attention. He's been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped.
