Stark is an 8 year old boxer/hound mix. He is great with kids and does well with other dogs and cats. He’s a sweet dog who loves to snuggle and spend time with people. We are no longer able to give him the exercise and attention he needs and would love to see him go to a home where he would thrive. He is also crate-trained.

Frosty Faces Deserve Love Too 🤍 Meet Adelene, a 10 year old Boxer mix who is proof that getting older does NOT mean you have to slow down! Adelene came to us after her mom passed away, and unfortunately, she found herself in a shelter afterward. She’s now looking for a family who will give her the peaceful, loving home she deserves for her golden years. And honestly, don’t let that “10 years old” fool you. This girl is playful, loves her toys and rubber balls, and gets so excited to go outside. She’s great with both dogs and cats and would love having a family to spend her days with. Adelene can be a little anxious when she first arrives somewhere new, and it takes her a couple of days to really settle in and feel comfortable. Once she does, though, you get to see her sweet and playful personality come out. She is potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained, so she’s already got the important stuff down! Adelene is great with kids, but because we would really like her remaining golden years to be as peaceful as possible, we’re looking for a home without young children. Older kids or dog savvy kids who understand how to respectfully interact with her would be a great fit. No little hands pulling her tail, poking her eyes, or bothering her while she’s trying to relax 😂 She deserves to spend her retirement being spoiled! Adelene recently had a dental, and her bloodwork came back great! Hi, I’m Spartacus! I’m a handsome Boxer/Hound mix with expressive eyebrows, adorable spots, and a personality that gets better the more you know me. I’m a sweet guy who enjoys spending time with my people, getting out for walks, and taking in the world around me. I have pretty nice leash manners, but I’m just as happy slowing things down. Give me a plush bed or a good patch of sunshine and I’ll gladly show you how seriously I take relaxation. I’ve lived with other dogs before, too! Like with any new roommate, I’d still want a proper introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable, and the staff can tell you more about what they’ve seen from me. One thing I know for sure? Cats and I are not meant to be roommates, so I’m looking for a feline-free home. At almost 7, I’m past the puppy stage, but I still have plenty of life, personality, walks, sunbathing, and love ahead of me. I’m just missing the place where I get to enjoy all of it. I’ve already found my favorite way to spend an afternoon. Now I just need a sunny spot to call my own. Hi everyone, Rocky here! I came to Woodford Humane looking for my second chance after my person passed away, and I’ve been working pretty hard on myself while I wait for my next chapter. When I arrived, I weighed about 93 pounds, and these days, I’m rocking a much healthier 63 pounds! I’m past all that puppy chaos, but I’m not quite ready to call myself a lazy senior either. I’m a sweet, laid-back guy who appreciates the good things in life: a nice stroll, some time sniffing around the yard, and, most importantly, a comfy place to settle in with my people. I’ve had some knee trouble in the past, so keeping me at a healthy weight and giving me appropriate exercise will help me stay feeling my best. But don’t let that fool you, I’m doing great, and losing 30 pounds is proof that I’ve been putting in the work! After everything has changed in my life, I’m more than ready for something permanent: a family to love and a couch to call my own. If you have another dog at home, I’d love to meet them first just to make sure we’re a good match! I’ve worked hard, lost the weight, and I’m feeling better than ever! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  We got the call to pick up Brownie because he was a stray and the homeowner has a dominant dog who didn't get along with Brownie.  While he does okay with other less dominant dogs, he would do best as a single dog.  He is a great dog with people!  This pet is now available for adoption to a good and loving home.
