Story
I'm Ellie! I love car rides, cuddles on the couch, chewing toys, playing ball and quiet walks in the woods. I am very food motivated which is great for teaching me new things! I'm very athletic and can jump fences under 5 feet. I need regular walks, puzzle toys and to play fetch to live my best life! I am a well behaved, reserved dog at home, however, I never wanted to be social with other dogs since I was a young pup. For two years I loved my older sister Charlie, but now we stress each other out and have to be separated. I am training to not bark at strangers or other dogs on walks. I am good on a leash and as long as dogs can't interact with me, I am a very happy dog. I live with my owner's dad in a rural area for now, but his health is declining. I'm very sweet to people, but I need an owner who will keep me as the only pet, avoid dogs and has experience with reactivity. I need to live in a quiet place to avoid seeing too many people or dogs which makes me anxious.

Penny has a softness about her that makes you want to sit down near her and stay awhile. Outside, she stretches out in the yard, soaking in the sun, watching everything like she's taking notes on the world. There's something quietly endearing in the way she exists - open, gentle, and very present. She's social with other dogs and enjoys being around people, but what Penny values most is simple closeness. She'll wander over, rest her head in your lap, and settle in without asking for anything more. Walks with her are relaxed, time together feels easy, and she adapts quickly when she's given room to just be herself. If we had to describe Penny in one word, it would be endearing. She brings a steady, affectionate kind of companionship that feels genuine and grounding.
