Story
This is Steve! I’ve had him for 2 and a half years and he’s been an absolute joy to have, unfortunately I am not longer able to keep him due to an unexpected move because of a family emergency. Steve is a huge cuddle bug, loves treats, and is very friendly. He is 7 years old. It is heartbreaking for me to even have to rehome him because he is my angel boy, but I want to make sure he goes to someone who can give him the love and attention he needs. I have never owned another dog, but when I rescued him the shelter said he prefers to be an only dog so he can get all the attention!

Story
Fern Fern is a Female Boxer mix DOB: November of 2025 Adoption fee: $200 I know I look serious in my photo, but I really am just a wiggle butt! If you know Boxers, then you know about the wiggle butt and that’s what I have! I wiggle while I eat, and I wiggle with a toy in my mouth, I wiggle when I walk. (I do have a full tail). I am a little bashful and need a little confidence building. In a home with consistency in my routine and training, I should gain the confidence I need to be the best friend you’ve ever had. Pending observed interaction, I should do well with children 8 years and older. Pending a meet and greet, I may match with another dog. I have not been tested with a cat, but if properly introduced to cats, I adapt fine. I have not been on a leash at this time and would do my best with a physically fenced yard. I may require it pending your previous experience, location or other plans for containment. I am a very nice pup with lots of potential. I just need a family to help reach that potential.

Story
Hello my name is Wink. At just 8 months old, I’m a big, handsome 70 pound pup with an even bigger heart, searching for a forever home to call my own. My journey hasn’t been easy—I was surrendered to a crowded, high-risk shelter in San Antonio, Texas, for reasons I’ll never understand. The noise, the stress, the uncertainty… it was overwhelming. My time there was running out, and I needed someone to see me—to believe I was worth saving.Every day, I did my best to shine. I kept my kennel clean, wagged my tail nonstop, and greeted everyone with gentle affection, hoping they’d choose me. But no one did. Maybe it was my size, or my age, or my right eye. I have a condition called microphthalmia, which means my right eye is smaller and doesn’t see well—but it doesn’t slow me down or cause me pain, and the vet says it doesn’t need to be removed. The shelter called me Skunk, but my foster dad saw something different—he named me Wink, and it fits me perfectly.Just hours before I was set to be euthanized due to overcrowding, Project Hope Animal Rescue stepped in and saved my life. From there, I began a 1,200+ mile journey north, carried by kind-hearted volunteers who gave me a second chance. Now, I’m ready to start my next chapter.I’m a sweet, affectionate boy with the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and gentle companionship. I adore people and have a special way of leaning into you for pets—it’s like a full-body hug. I may be big, but I’m all soft on the inside and thrive on love, attention, and being part of the family.I’m still young and eager to learn. I’m very treat-motivated and want to make my people happy, which makes training fun and rewarding. I’ve already learned how to shake and I’m getting the hang of “sit.” I walk well on a leash and am excited to keep learning with someone who will guide me with patience and positivity.I’d do best in an active home where I have room to run, play, and grow—a fenced yard would be required. More than anything, I just want to be included in everyday life, whether that’s going on adventures, playing outside, or relaxing close to my favorite people. The basics:• Fully vetted• Potty trained• Dog & cat friendly• Working on crate trainingAll I need now is someone willing to take a chance on me—and in return, I’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, love, and companionship.Wink is fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered & microchippedHis adoption fee is $300.If you have any questions or concerns about Wink,  please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Story
Meet Maroon! He is a sweet, sensitive goofball who is looking to develop a strong bond with his people. His favorite hobbies include squirrel watching/chasing, chewing tennis balls, and playing tag. He is an athletic guy who thrives with a yard and daily walks, but does great when left alone in his foster home. He naps and patiently awaits your return. He is an eager-to-please pooch that lives for praise and attention. Maroon is a smart dog who is curious but not mischievous. He is great at picking up on routines and cues and respects boundaries once he understands them. New situations can make him nervous sometimes, but once reassured, he is a friendly, wiggly dog who want to say hi to everyone. He is a great companion and has a lot of love to share. Maroon is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

Story
Hi my name is Stan! I am a senior gentleman looking for my perfect home. I am very lucky to be out of the shelter and with my great foster family, who take care of me while I wait for adoption. I can be a little shy with new people, but when I get comfortable, I show everyone what a happy, sweet dog I am! My ideal home would be a household without children under five, and I would prefer to meet other doggie siblings before making things official to make sure we put our best paws forward. Could I be the guy for you? Please reach out to the adoptions team to learn more about how to meet me!Stan is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Story
Zazu (boy Merle) & Syrabi (girl tan) brother and sister 7 months old American Bully. Looking for an owner to take BOTH as they have been together since birth. Do not want to separate. Very sweet dogs have never bit anyone and never shown signs of aggression. Both potty trained. Very good around kids and cats. Have not been around other dogs other than each other so not sure how they act around others. Recently got a new job with a new schedule and I’m not able to be home and give them the attention they deserve. Looking for an owner who will give them the time of day and give them the love they need. Must show proof of a stable household and preferably a nice yard as they love to play outside.Located in Jackson, Mi

Story
We have loved having Gracie as a pet and wish we didn’t have to find her a new home. We got her as a puppy when she was 2 months old from a shelter. She is now 11 months old. She is a beautiful and super sweet dog. However, we have an infant and a 2 year old and her high drive has just proven to not be a good fit for our family. Gracie would benefit best from a family with no other pets and no young children. She loves to go on walks/runs and play fetch. Gracie is all up to date on all of her puppy shots, she is microchipped, e-collar and wireless fence trained. She is potty-trained and kennel trained. We made this choice for a specific reason due to our young children, but we will all miss her deeply and will do whatever we can do to find her the perfect new home. Thank you for considering Gracie for your family. ❤️
