Sweet Mara only wants to be close! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 35 pounds. Meet Mara, she is such a pretty girl with a fun, playful spirit! She is a bundle of affection, so connecting and looking to please her people. Mara is all loose and wiggly, and she loves to be close, whether that's snuggling on the couch or playing a game of fetch with her favorite tennis ball. She will happily bring the ball back to you and politely relinquish it for the next throw - what a good girl! Mara also adores soft toys and is highly trainable, already mastering the 'sit' command like a pro. She is always so darn happy, is great riding in the car and ready for whatever you would like to do. She is dreaming of a loving, forever home. Mara would like it if you came to meet her, she can't wait for a family to love her. She will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. One of our wonderful volunteers took Mara on a nice adventure, to a fun weekly Paws Plus training class where she was thriving and soaking up all the knowledge she could! She has already learned the following commands: sit, down, stay, watch me, place, bow, circle. She is working on "leave it". Hello, my name is Roberto, and I am a handsome, shy boy who is ready to find my forever home! I am about a year old and weigh 40 pounds. I may be a little timid at first, but I am a lovable goofball at heart, and I promise that with a little patience, I will come out of my shell. The nice volunteers here at the rescue can't believe how much I have already changed in just a couple of weeks, apparently, I have made leaps and bounds since arriving. I sure feel safe and loved here, I know that is helping. I am a lovable and playful pup who will happily lounge in your lap once I get to know you. I just crave attention, I think I am making up for lost time. Sadly, I was found living in a basement with several other dogs, so I sure do love getting love now! I am highly treat-motivated, which makes me an eager and dedicated student when it comes to learning basic obedience and leash manners. I just really need someone to care and want to spend time with me to teach me all the things I missed out on. I really want to please you, so I know you will be proud of me in no time at all. For my best success, it is highly recommended that I go into a home with another friendly dog. I just love other dogs, and they really help me come out of my shell. As you can see in my video (on Petfinder), my best friend Millie and I are being silly playful through the fence while our kennels were being cleaned. I am a sensitive soul who can still spook at new things, so my new family will need to have a containment plan in place while I build my confidence. With your time, love, and understanding, I will learn to trust and feel safe. If you can offer me the guidance and patience I need to flourish, I will be the most loving and goofy addition to your family. He can still be a little puppy mouthy, but he for sure understands the importance of sitting and waiting patiently for treats or asking for things politely, he seems to have an auto sit to ask for things, so sweet! Churro is still learning his manners, but he is eager to please and responds well to structure and leadership. He is a quick learner and already knows how to trade up with toys nicely and has a soft mouth relinquish. Churro needs a family teach him all the amazing things he needs to know. Krypto sure is a handsome pup! He is estimated to about a year old and weighs 48 pounds. Meet Krypto, a bundle of playful and outgoing fun! Nothing makes him happier than staying right with you, what a wonderful best friend he is going to make someone. Krypto knows what he wants - and that's simply to be close and to receive all the love and attention he can get! He is highly trainable and just needs a patient owner to dedicate some time to him and be the leader he needs. He is so young and ready to soak up all the direction you can provide. Krypto is eager to please and has so much love to give, he would love it if you came to meet him. He will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Krypto would love to meet them. He has a soft, loose, friendly approach with other dogs. He seems well socialized with other pups. **We have some exciting news about Krypto! Red Lantern Dog Training in Ortonville is working with our rescue and letting some of our great pups come for training and giving them a break from the kennel. Krypto was welcomed right away, he is thriving and blossoming with training, you can tell he just loves learning! He has been working on so many things: sit for toys - has to earn everything, impulse control, wait at door, 4 on the floor, recall, drop it, place and leave it. Wow, he is a busy boy! He also likes being there with all the other dogs in the training class. If you can believe it, he also was accepted at the Lodge for Pampered Pets in Metamora for doggy day care to have a break from the kennels, he has so much fun with all the other dogs.
