Story
Meet Sam! Sam is a three-month-old, 15-pound boxer mix who arrived at GLDR with his brother Dean. Dean has already found his forever family so let's help Sam find his happily ever after! Sam is everything a happy-go-lucky pup should be. He's full of life and love and will provide years of companionship and happy memories for one lucky family. As he's still a young man, he'll benefit from continued training, daily exercise and a yard to enjoy. Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that takes a-lot of patience and dedication. Sam will need a family that has the time to help mold him into the best adult dog that he can be! Based on our evaluation, Sam would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids of all ages. He may have the potential to live in a home with other pets. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the puppy you've been dreaming of, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our sensational Sam!

Story
This nice girl only wants to be close to you! Wendy is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 28 pounds. Meet Wendy, the sweetest, most adorable pup you'll ever lay eyes on! She's what we call "shmedium", not quite small, but about as small as medium gets! This cutie is a bundle of joy, with a waggy tail that will melt your heart. Wendy is for sure a people-person, she sticks to you like glue and loves nothing more than to be right by your side, snuggled up close. She's a real cuddle bug! Wendy is fun spirited and just wants to connect and engage with her people. She would love an active, fun family that loves to be with her. With her sweet nature and playful personality, Wendy is going to make such a special best friend. She would thrive in a home that can provide structure and a basic obedience refresher to go with her already perfect “sit”. Wendy would love it if you came to meet her and she'll show you just how wonderful life can be with a waggy-tailed shadow by your side! She will need a home where any children are at least 4 years old. If you are interested in Wendy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Hubert is dreamy, the way he looks at you! This handsome pup is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 41 pounds. Meet Hubert, a sweet boy with the waggiest tail! His cute and curious nature will win your heart, and his big, soft eyes will melt any worries away. Even though we fear he may have been left outside a lot based on how bad the fly bite scars were on his ears, Hubert is still so connecting with a playful spirit and a silly side that's so fun to watch, especially when you get the toys out! His ears look so much better now too with all the love and care he is getting. He is looking for a leader to help build his confidence and an active family who likes to go for walks, play or maybe go on fun adventures, Hubert would love that! Could you be the one to give this adorable boy the happiness he deserves, with an actual home to be inside and cuddling with his forever family? Hubert would like it if you came to meet him, he can’t wait for a family to love. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old. Hubert seems very drawn to school age kids. He has a cute, full, loose body wag and is very engaged with them. He was our representative for a PEAS (Pan Equus Animal Sanctuary) event, they are just down the street from us and he did great! Hubert was open and friendly to visitors of all ages, we were so proud of him! If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Hubert would love to meet them. He has a bouncy, loose approach with other dogs with an "all in" play style. If you are interested in Hubert and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. Story
***Lavender is in a foster home, so she is not at the kennel. If you are interested in her, please fill out the application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Hi there! My name is Lavender, and I'm so excited to find my family. I'm a gorgeous, loving girl who is so sweet, you'll fall in love with me instantly! I am about 2 years old and weigh 31 pounds. I love to be close to you and receive lots of affection. Be it through cuddles or just spending time together, I'm a true sweet soul who craves closeness. Everyone tells me I am such a well-mannered, sweet girl with the cutest little white paws. I can be a little shy at first though and hesitant of new things. With quick, sudden movements I may cower, but then I seek you out for comfort and reassurance. I can be submissive too, but with an experienced leader I can rely on, I know I can get over my hurdles. My adopter needs to have the time and patience to help build my trust and confidence, but I will be so worth it. I just know I will make such an awesome best friend. I am just brimming with love and affection and can’t wait to give it all to a family. I make everyone at the rescue laugh, I love to carry something around in my mouth and it seems to make me all wiggly and I love to show it to you, it makes me so proud. If it is a tennis ball, all the better! I will need a home where any children are calm, respectful and at least 4 years old though with my shy nature. If you have another nice doggy sibling, I would love to meet them. I do super cute playbows and have a nice balanced play style. Oh, I almost forgot, I love to sneak up in your lap, so I hope my new family is ok with that and having lots of snuggle time! I sure hope you come and meet me soon. I don't know why, but I don't care for cats though, so no kitties for me! If you are interested in Lavender and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
