Story
Meet Harley! LONG-TERM GLDR RESIDENT! LOVES ALL PEOPLE & KIDS! PLEASE GIVE HER A CHANCE! This adorable boxer babe is three years old and weighs in around 60 pounds. She is eagerly awaiting a family that will love her for the wonderful pup she is! We are happy to announce Harley is back in foster and she is so thrilled to be there! Always out to impress, she is both crate-trained and house-trained! A bright and eager learner, Harley is ready to show off her skills! She knows commands like sit, down, shake, and off! With the help of high-value treats, she's ready to learn even more! When it comes time to play, she is ready and willing to have a good time! She likes her stuffed toys and enjoys chasing a ball. Playing tug is her favorite! A fenced in yard for her to romp in is a must for this fun-loving pup! Harley enjoys going for walks and does best when harnessed. Up for exploring? She rides well in the car and is ready to join you on all of your adventures! At the end of a fun-filled day, Harley is perfectly content to spend her day lounging inside with her people. She enjoys snuggling in with cozy blankets on her favorite spot on the couch. She sleeps quietly through the night, grateful for foster family and hopeful her forever family will soon come her way. Based on our evaluation, Harley would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She has lived with kids before and adores them! Although Harley is dog selective, we feel she would do best as the only animal in the home. She needs an experienced adopter who is ready to train her and form a lifelong bond. If you think you could be the family to give Harley the forever home she deserves, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application today!

Story
Meet Gilbert! GLDR has it's share of goofy pups and Gilbert is at the top of that list! He's a 10-month- old boxer mix and is the perfect size pal at 34 pounds! This fella is a total lover boy and makes no secret of his desire to be close to you. He's very tolerant and will happily plant himself in your lap for some snuggles if you let him. Gilbert never misses an opportunity to not so gracefully flop over for some well-deserved belly rubs! He knows how to sit and takes his treats nicely. He's pretty good on leash and enjoys his fair share of sniffs along the way. Gilbert is a boy who loves to play fetch and will need lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation in his new home. A yard for him to enjoy is a must for this playful pup. He does very well here with his fellow kennel mates and we think he may enjoy having a fur sibling. Adopting a puppy requires time and patience, and Gilbert will benefit from continued training as he grows. He is eager to please and we know he will make you proud! Based on our evaluation, we feel Gilbert would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the potential to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think Gilbert is the guy you've been searching for, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for charming pup!

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bren on Adopt-a-pet. At 13.5 years old, Bren has found herself as one of the many unclaimed strays here at the shelter. Given her age, this is especially heartbreaking as she deserves the softest blankets, the most delicious food, and an owner that adores her. A Boxer mix, she still has a little pep in her step, and a whole lot of love to give. We want all the best for Bren so we want for her to be the only pet and we're hoping for a fenced yard too. P.S. Bren did have a lipoma mass removed on the R side of her rib area on 10/11. She will need to have a re-check 14 days from that date. *Bren is not accepting of other dogs or cats. We're not sure what she's experienced in her past life that has turned her off from them, but at this stage, she deserves to relax and enjoy the rest of her life the way she prefers.

Story
***LeBron is in a foster home, so he is not at the kennel. If you are interested in him, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** LeBron is a healthy 11 week old, 14 pound young man. He is very attentive to where you are, loves exploring and playing fetch. He knows sit and is excellent at pottying outside. He thrives with routine and sleeps through the night. He likes the big dogs but does not overly bother them. LeBron has a shiny, soft coat and gives gentle kisses. In the photos with his brother KD, he is the one with two black front feet. LeBron is searching for a family that will include him in everything. He is ready to meet you! It is important that his new family understands the commitment and amount of work puppies require before adopting. He will also need someone who is home frequently because he can't be left alone for a long period of time due to being a puppy! A family that is active and who will provide him with love and guidance he needs is perfect. LeBron is looking for a family to be his best friend for life! If you are interested in LeBron and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Luna was rescued from a litter where the family cannot keep all of them. We rescued her and raised her since she was 2 months old. She is very obedient with training she listens, potty trained loves to cuddle play go on walks. Luna is spayed, up to date on shots and chipped. Luna would be better off in a family with no other dogs she likes to be dominant and keeps getting in fights with my older dog.
