Story
Meet Sadie! 🤎🐾 Sadie is a lovable Pittie/Boxer mix who's everything you'd hope for in a best friend. She's affectionate, playful, simply a joy to be around. She has done well with kids and enjoys being part of the fun, making her a wonderful companion for an active family. She is bonded with her sister Molly and they must be adopted together, which means you get twice the love and twice the fun! Sadie may not be the best fit for a home with cats, as she has shown great interest in cats, but there is the possibility with a slow introduction she may be able to live with a cat. If you're looking for a sweet, well-rounded dog with lots of love to give, Sadie is ready to meet you!

Meet Molly! Molly is a playful girl with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! She loves to run, play, and make the most of every adventure, and she's always ready for fun with her favorite people. Molly would thrive with an active family that can match her energy and continue helping her learn good manners. She may not be the best fit for a home with cats, and should have a meet and greet with the whole family to see if it's a good fit. Molly is bonded with her sister Sadie, so they must be adopted together. This means as an adopter you get twice the love and twice the fun! If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and join you on all of life's adventures, Molly is ready to meet you!

Story
Sweet Mara and her playful spirit, she is so fun! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 35 pounds. Although Mara has spent more than her fair share in a rescue environment, she has maintained a happy, optimistic attitude, and makes the most of her play time. When first meeting her, she may come across as not very connecting, but that’s only because BALL IS LIFE! Balls are her stress reliever, and she takes it very seriously! Be patient, she is more than happy to show you her favorite ball and sit in your lap with it. She is also happy to entertain herself if you’re busy, so if a needy dog is not your thing, she’s your girl! Either way, you can’t help but feel her joy when watching her play! Mara is great riding in the car and ready for whatever fun adventure you would like to do next! She is dreaming of a loving, forever home. Mara would like it if you came to meet her, she can't wait for a family to love her. She will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. Mara does not mind other dogs but lacks experience with them, which leaves her with an approach that other dogs may find “rude”, so she is probably best as the only dog. Plus, another dog would never be allowed to keep a ball! One of our wonderful volunteers took Mara on a nice adventure, to a fun weekly Paws Plus training class where she was thriving and soaking up all the knowledge she could! As you can see from her video, she is so smart and wants to learn. She has already learned the following commands: sit, down, stay, watch me, place, bow, circle. She is working on "leave it". If you are interested in Mara and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Hello, my name is Roberto, and I am a handsome boy who is ready to find my forever home! I am about a year old and weigh 40 pounds. I may be a little timid at first, but I am a lovable goofball at heart, and I promise that with a little patience, I will come out of my shell. The nice volunteers here at the rescue can't believe how much I have already changed, apparently, I have made leaps and bounds since arriving. I sure feel safe and loved here, I know that is helping. I am a sweet and playful pup who will happily lounge in your lap once I get to know you. I've been told I have just about the softest fur around, so that's even better for cuddling. I just crave attention, I think I am making up for lost time. Sadly, I was found living in a basement with several other dogs, so I sure do love getting love now! I am highly treat-motivated, which makes me an eager and dedicated student when it comes to learning basic obedience and leash manners. I just really need someone to care and want to spend time with me to teach me all the things I missed out on. I really want to please you, so I know you will be proud of me in no time at all. For my best success, I must go into a home with another friendly dog. I just love other dogs, and they really help me come out of my shell. As you can see in my video, my best friend Millie and I are being silly playful through the fence while our kennels were being cleaned. A lovely volunteer took me home for a sleepover weekend and it was wonderful. I got along great with her Frenchie, we played and had so much fun together. I was unphased by a cat running through the yard and did well watching kids on scooters, minibikes and playing basketball, and I only got spooked once by a loud noise while inside the house. I did great in the crate at night too. She worked on my confidence building and I took lots of naps to decompress. I can't believe how nice it was to be in a home, now I am really dreaming of a family to love me and to have a real home. I am a sensitive soul who can still spook at new things, so my new family will need to have a containment plan in place while I build my confidence. With your time, love, and understanding, I will learn to trust and feel safe. If you can offer me the guidance and patience I need to flourish, I will be the most loving and goofy addition to your family. I will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old with my shy nature. I would love it if you came to meet me! If you are interested in Roberto and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. Story
She is an energetic, loving girl with such a big heart. She loves to play, explore, and be around the people she loves, but her favorite thing is settling down for some good old-fashioned cuddles. She has a sweet and affectionate personality and loves giving and receiving attention. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who will bring love, energy, and plenty of snuggles into their home. I’m looking for a loving, safe, and responsible forever home where she will be cared for, loved, and treated like family.
