Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MUST BE THE ONLY DOG IN HOUSEHOLD; REACTIVE TO DOGS Bella has returned to rescue. Her adoptive family feels they are not the right home for her to be truly happy. You see, Bella wants to be an only dog and get all the attention in the household. She can be around other dogs for playtime or outings, but inside the house she will challenge other dogs for your undivided attention. The adoptive family has tried obedience training and muzzle training and keeping the dogs separated as much as possible. But it isn't the best life. Can you give Bella the life she deserves?Bella is fully potty trained and has learned how to use a bell to go out. She kennels like a dream and doesn’t mind being in it whether we’re home or not. She loves playing with toys and doesn’t mind having a few bones around to keep her entertained. Bella will do better in a house with another dog or kids to play with her.  Bella is a true love bug through and through, and is quickly learning what life looks like as an inside dog and is enjoying every minute of it!             Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 10:17 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Breeder release - puppy mill mamaTen boxers arrived on 5/11/2023; a breeder in IA is closing her business. These dogs are typical puppy mill dogs. They have not had any socialization with people and are very shut down around humans. None of them are used to wearing a collar and do not know how to walk on a leash. Most just crouch down out of fear. All the dogs love to be around other dogs. These girls have improved already in just a few days but will need lots and lots of work, from potty training to crate training to walking on a leash, etc. The dogs are unfamiliar with the inside of a house and do not know how to climb stairs/steps.From the foster mom:  She is very shy, but when she warms up to you, she will follow you around. Doing well on a leash. If she steps on it or it gets caught, she freezes until you help her. She isn't into treats but loves popcorn and takes it really gentle from my hand. She is doing pretty good about going potty outside but does have 1 accident sometime in the middle of the night. Does not know about dog beds or blanket piles for the most part. Did.find her this morning on a blanket in the bedroom but will sleep next to it but won't really go on it. She enjoys car/truck rides. Have to lift her into our vehicles, but she will jump out by herself. She is doing well with steps...might take her a little convincing, but she will go up and down. She loves it outside. Did awesome in the camper Friday/Saturday. Merlot loves to bask on the deck in the sun.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 10:17 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Breeder release - puppy mill mamaUpdate on puppy mill momma Minnie. Minnie loves other dogs and enjoys the company of the resident foster boxer  Gramps.  Minnie enjoys the fenced in yard and runs in circles and jumps for joy.  Minnie so wants to play with the  foster mate but he is not interested in play time so she walks away and says ok be that way.  Minnie ignores the 2 cats and  shown to be a good house mate with cats.  Minnie will destroy soft toys but has shown little interest in hard toys or balls.  She has not touched shoes left on the floor or items left on the coffee table.  Minnie is very comfortable in the crate and tolerates the crate.  Minnie sleeps in a dog bed by foster moms bed and sleeps there thru the night.  She is not totally housetrained as there has been a few accidents, some of this is attributed to foster mom not paying attention to the need to go outside cues.     Minnie does not enjoy human contact, she is still very shy, reserved, and not trusting of humans. She feels the human world is going to hurt her and crouch's down out of fear.   Minnie has shown no signs of aggressive behavior.  She has no fear of household noises and is curious enough to check out when foster mom goes into other rooms of the house.  She is content to chill while foster mom is watching TV and playing games on the I Pad.  Minnie is doing really good on a lease and seems to enjoy walks.  Minnie stays by foster moms left leg with very few corrections on the weather permitting 3 mile walks.  Minnie barks at the turkeys and squirrels looking for food by the bird feeders.     Minnie is a sweet girl and will take more time to learn to live with humans and accept the human world.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 10:17 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Roswell, aka Marvin, is a muscular mixed breed guy who came to us from the city pound. We were told by someone who knew him that he is a boxer, doberman, pit bull mix. He kind of looks like a boxer on steroids. He turned two years old in June 2023. He's a friendly and very strong guy who loves people. He has been completely vetted and his fee is $125. Roswell was adopted for 6 months and returned in May 2023. His person began to work some pretty long hours and was not able to give him the attention and exercise he requires. Exercise is key for a dog like him. He's looking for a home in which he won't be left alone for long hours. He loves to play fetch and is also happy to spoon on the couch with his person once his energy is drained. He has done well with FEMALE dogs and should be okay with kids over 8 years old. He can be a bit of a runner so a secure environment is a must. Cats are a no for him. Watch a TikTok video featuring Roswell below! https://www.tiktok.com/@happy.critter.ranch/video/7264302773133544750 NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 6:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Patton was one of a small group of dogs dumped together in a nearby rural area. He is a purebred boxer and we think he's around 9-10 months old. He's a goofy boy who can be a bit shy at first. Once he's comfy, he's goofy and adorably affectionate. He loves attention and is eager to please people. We will get him vet checked and neutered soon and his fee is $150. We think that Patton would be fine with other dogs. We have no way of knowing about cats. He would most likely be okay with older kids, too. He does need a little bit of basic training and will require regular exercise. Someone who is experienced with boxers would be a bonus for him. He has a lot of potential! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Clover is a delightful.  She is affectionate and funny. Clover's estimated DOB is 3/18/21.  When she wants attention she does the sideways forward walk.  She is always the first to greet me in the morning.    Clover is completely housetrained.  She does not like the dark so needs encouragement to go out that last time at night.  She is comfortable in the kennel.  We had her in the kennel at night and during the day when she first arrived, but now we allow her to free roam.     Clover is a real lover.  If we are working in the office she will come and lay on the floor to keep us company.  Once when our granddaughter came over she had a scrape.  Clover came over and sat in her lap while she was crying and gave her a couple of licks on the face to wipe away the tears.  The granddaughter felt much better very quickly.  One of Clover's favorite activities is getting a belly rub - she will lay there for quite awhile.    We have 2 large resident dogs and she plays well with them.  We do not have a cat so cannot say how she would do with one.  Given her prey drive for squirrels and bunnies when we go for a walk I am guessing it would be a no go for a cat.   Clover has been through a lot in her life and is now waiting for her forever home. She has been a mama, had multiple surgeries such as; tail amputations from her "happy tails," a surgery for an intestinal obstruction and surgery to repair her knee! She is fully healed from her most recent surgery and is ready to find a home. Would Clover make a great addition to your family?  Fill out the application and we can talk more.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Meet Ace- Ace is a sweet, loyal, handsome guy.  He loves being outside exploring the yard, playing fetch and going on walks.  Every dog he meets is his new friend and he loves play dates.  Inside the house, he’s happy as a clam to collect all the toys near his bed and play with them.  He’s fully crate trained – sleeps through the night without a peep and content to be there when you leave.  He’s very affectionate and loves to snuggle with his humans.  He’s picked up on training quickly (potty trained, sit, lay down, leave it) and will continue to excel with leadership from his person.  Ace is catching up for lost time in his socialization and working hard. He’s still shy when meeting new people but he is trying very hard.  Ace enjoys walks and very small gatherings but he is more of an introvert so crowds are not his thing- staying at home, binging Netflix and hanging out with his person- that is his jam! Ace would love a home where he can continue to grow, has a fenced in yard and a confident resident dog he can learn from and play with. Due to his shyness he is best in a home without young children.  His ideal home will continue to patiently work with him on socialization to expose him to new environments and people.  He’s soaking it up and it’s lots of fun to see him grow his confidence! If you are a home that is looking to add a love bug to your crew then Ace is your man. If you would like to meet Ace, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Meet Zeus- Look at this handsome hunk!  Zeus is social, friendly, playful active, curious, smart and loves belly rubs.  Unfortunately, Zeus  finds himself back in rescue after his human developed allergies.  He was loved, trained, walked and very happy as an only dog in his home.  In rescue, Zeus is living with 2 other dogs and learning how live with built in playmates!!!  Zeus loves new people, is good with dog savvy children (due t his size, best with older kids) and loves other dogs.  He enjoys running, chasing and romping with other dogs.  He is used to taking long daily walks with his human and often with a canine buddy.  Bones and chew toys are big in Zeus's life right now!!  He is crate trained and has nice house manners.  Zeus responds best to boundaries, a schedule and training.  He is a smart boy and likes to work- brain work and physical exercise are his jam. If you are active (need a walking, hiking or jogging buddy), want to train and be rewarded with an awesome pup- Zeus is your boy!  Zeus is a sweet fun, playful boy who is excited to find his forever home that will love, train and enjoy his loving and adventurous personality!
