Update 7.8.26 Hello MNBR Fans, my name is Zarek pronounced like Derek with a Z. I am fairly new to rescue. I have a foster brother and would love a home with a furry friend or a family who would take me to the dog park or doggy daycare because I have lots of energy. I am pretty good on a leash so I might make an awesome running/walking/hiking partner. My foster mom says it is like having a toddler in the house, as I am still learning what I can and cannot have, but I am a quick learner. I love to play tug-a-war and think everything is a tug toy. I also like playing fetch and know the release word is “mine.” I have a passion for water and would not mind a waterfront view!! I like helping out and supervising home renovation projects. I know how to work a hammer or at least I like to think that I do.  Can’t wait to introduce myself to you! Love Zarek❤️    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2026, 6:08 pm

NEW TO RESCUE 6.11.26 My owner has sadly passed, leaving me with the shelter as my only housing option. I was once a top-notch service dog, but the staff is scratching their heads trying to figure out my exact talents. One thing's for sure, though—I’m the epitome of canine class! I’ve shared my life with dogs, cats, and kids, and currently, I’m bunking with a 4-year-old human and an 8-year-old canine buddy. I get all wiggly with excitement for my dog pals, but mostly, I’m a laid-back, chill companion. I’m wagging my nub in hopes of finding a new family to shower me with love in my golden years.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2026, 6:08 pm

2.12.26 PUPDATE (written by current foster) Millie is a 6 1/2 year old boxer lab mix with a full tail. She came from a family life and had lived indoors. She likes attention and neck scratches. She may have a torn ACL on her back right leg but has been using it a little with pain medication in place. She has a sweet personality and could be a great only dog. With our boxer, Ester, she likes following Ester’s lead but needed a couple of gentle reminders of her place in the pack. She does well with the commands sit and come when food is involved. . We have tried out a couple of different leashes on her and she stays close on yard walks. We haven’t tried any actual walks around the block due to her leg. She will need rehab for her leg withborc without surgery. We're waiting to hear back fromthe surgeon on her options. INTAKE 1.26.26 (written by previous owner) This is Miss Millie. A 6 1/2 year old Boxer, Lab mixed breed that was born on June 5, 2019. She is a very shy girl who takes a couple of visits to warm up to new people in places but she is super sweet and loves attention. She has always done well with other animals and children. Millie is not aggressive but tends to get very excited and a little jealous, letting you know vocally by crying and whining that she sees others getting the attention that she wants. She is also a bit protective over her food dish. Overall, Millie is a very good girl who just needs some extra love and care due to an injury of a major tendon in her back leg. She had always lived in a home with a fenced in yard so had not had much exposure to being on a leash or outside of her own territory, making her leash skills and listening to command skills not very good but she is super smart so could learn these skills easily. We just hope Millie finds the right home that can take care of her like she deserves.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2026, 6:08 pm

Story
PUPDATE 3.22.26 PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: I'm a 7-year-old male with a black and gold brindle coat, topped off with snazzy white boots, a chest, and a dashing mask tipping the scales at 85-90 pounds of pure charm. I was a bit weak in the back end coming into rescue but now I'm almost superhero strong! Oh, and did I mention that I'm a stunner! TEMPERAMENT: Got a playful spirit? Me too! I’m a bundle of joy with a sweet nature and a brain that soaks up new tricks faster than a sponge. Sometimes, I opt for my crate for a snooze. I'm pretty clever, I bag of tricks includes, 'sit', 'wait', 'kennel', and occasionally 'lay'. I’m a gentle treat taker and playtime with pals is my jam. No need to worry about me being possessive; I’m as chill as they come with space, toys, food, and water. Plus, I stroll like a pro without tugging on the leash! QUIRKS I’M POLISHING: New places can make me jittery, so I need a couple of days to get my groove on. Initially, I might pant like a marathoner, leading to a water guzzle and, well, frequent bathroom breaks. But once I’m comfy, all that disappears. I'm also learning to keep all four paws on the ground, and my foster bro is teaching me the art of toy play. NEW TO RESCUE: Simplest way to describe me is like Rainman..... so smart, yet a few cards shy of a full deck. I'm playful, happy, calm, fun, and easy to train. If you want to play (tag and boxing my humans are fave games), I'll play. If you want to relax, I'll relax. I like kids, dogs and birds. I'm excellent on leash when it's just us, but get overly excited when I see others and will pull. I'm housetrained, but do occasionally have an accident as I'm water obsessed. I'm from a boxer breeder, I just have wonky ears...I swear I'm full Boxer!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2026, 6:08 pm

Story
Peanut is a fun spunky little girl who came to my family with her sister. I actually had Sky picked out before going to pick her up but couldn’t resist Peanuts energy so we came home with both girls. They were an accidental litter from their parents. They are a mix of 4 breeds. Peanut has most of her characteristics from the Boxer breed. She is smart has a boxer stance and can’t get off the couch without a long drawn out stretch. She plays hard and sleeps harder. She loves to nuzzle into her humans and sister for naps and bedtime. She is crate trained and just goes right in when I start getting ready for work. She knows some tricks. Leash trained other than going potty outside she’s not. We had a fenced yard until I went through a separation in my marriage. She does bark at other dogs but is great with her other 3 siblings. She’s gentle with kids but does jump when I get home and gets the Zoomies. I would love Peanut/Sky together bc they are bonded and easy together.
