Story
Meet Lieutenant — Reporting for Snuggle Duty!Lieutenant — known to her friends as Lieu — is a boxer mix with a shining heart. She arrived a bit on the skinny side, but with her love of treats (and her impressive puppy-eye skills), she’s happily working her way back to a healthy weight. Lieu enjoys her walks, but nothing tops her absolute favorite thing in the world: people! She’s an expert snuggler, a champion butt-wiggler, and a pro at delivering gentle kisses.Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or headed out for a stroll, she’s ready to be right by your side. She walks well on leash, and she’s already mastered sit — a polite queen!Fun Fact: When she gets excited, Lieu does a full-body wiggle that starts at her shoulders and ends all the way at her tail — it’s impossible not to smile. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who brings joy, snuggles, and wiggly happiness to every day, Lieutenant is ready to join your ranks!

Story
Max is a graduate of our dog training program at Northeastern New Mexico Correctional Facility. His handler writes: Hello, I'm Max, and I would like to tell you a little about myself, and hopefully you'll take me home with you. I know I'm part boxer but unsure of what else I am. I will admit I am shy in the beginning, but once I get to know you, I am the goofiest, most playful, loving, and loyal dog you'll ever meet, especially if you give me treats. I'll do all kinds of tricks for meats or sweets, and the tricks I know are sit, lie down, stay, left shake, right shake, high fives, knucks, bow, play dead or "bang," sit pretty (but I need a little assistance with that, as my balance is off), left spin, and right spin. I absolutely love getting the top of my head scratched, along with my neck and butt. I am housetrained, so you don't have to worry about me going to the bathroom in the house. I would be great for a family, as I do not bark or bite or jump on people, and I play well with other dogs, too. I do not like loud noises, and I'm not too fond of fast-moving objects, either, and that's pretty much it for dislikes. The last thing I think you should know is I'll cuddle with you all day if you let me, and who could say no to this face? I know I couldn't if I were you. Please take me to my new home. Maximus Goofapodimus out. :)

Story
Cocoa is a sweet girl, with a big heart. She's still so very young and energetic. She loves kids, but has a problem with jumping. She doesn't bite when she's excited, she does bark a lot when she's playing. A vocal girl, but she's not a howler. She's smart, but needs an experienced trainer because she's also impatient. Extremely food-driven. She will jump on counters for food, and topple your toddlers for their snacks. She will relax on a couch with you once her energy is spent, and she gives all the kisses you could ever need and more. She loves people, strangers included. Not a great guard dog, but a good alarm dog when it comes to someone or something at your door. She was raised in a home with a small cat, but has also eaten pigeons in the yard. So, perhaps keep an eye on her if you have small animals. A wonderful girl for any family with older kids, a huge willingness to train, and a sweet pup who gives way more than she gets.
