Story
Ahem… clears throat… taps microphone… H-hi everyone. Um. My name is Garth. (Please don’t look at me all at once.) I came in as a stray on 12/11/25, and they think I’m about 5 years old. I’m… uh… a handsome guy, apparently. I didn’t smile for the camera today because—well—this is all a lot. Crowds are scary. Cameras are scary. The shelter is scary. 😟 I’m very shy and I tend to stand close to you because you make me feel safe. I kind of look to my person for protection, like, “Is this okay? Are we good?” My eyes might look sad right now, but that’s just because I haven’t found my place yet. I’m hoping—very quietly—that someone kind will see me, take me home, and help me learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. I promise I’m worth it… I just need a little patience and a lot of love. Okay. Um. Thank you for listening. I’ll be available for adoption now. Please come meet me. 🐾 📍 Richland County Dog Shelter Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 📝 Adoption is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

🚨🚨 ATTENTION EVERYONE 🚨🚨 Please stop what you are doing and prepare yourself… because ARLONG HAS ENTERED THE CHAT. Meet Arlong!! He came in as a stray on 1/27/26, and somehow no one has claimed this absolute gem of a dog. Their loss. HUGE opportunity for you. Arlong is the definition of “good vibes only.” He is super sweet, ridiculously friendly, and has the kind of face that makes you immediately start talking in a baby voice without even realizing it. Squeaky toys? Obsessed. Getting petted? Yes, please. Being your loyal, easy-going sidekick? Already packed and ready. He’s not dramatic. He’s not high maintenance. He’s just a solid, fun, happy dude who enjoys the simple things in life — a good squeak, some quality pets, and hanging out with his people like the charming gentleman he is. Arlong is the kind of dog who: • Makes friends in 0.3 seconds • Thinks every toy is the best toy ever • Will happily soak up all your affection • Is just plain FUN to be around He’s got that “effortlessly cool but also secretly a softie” energy. The total package. The whole deal. The best boy. Arlong is available for adoption, and honestly… someone needs to hurry before he gets scooped up. He is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield. 📞 419-774-5892 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov It is an application process, and you can request one via email. Don’t overthink this. Just come meet him. Your couch (and your squeaky toy collection) will thank you. 🐾

Story
Meet Nala, our resident beefcake with a heart of gold. 💪💖Nala is strong, solid, and impressive at first glance — but give her a moment and you’ll see what she really is: a total love bug who just wants affection, reassurance, and someone to call her own. She does best as the only pet in the home, but she’s great with children and thrives on human companionship. Her past hasn’t been kind. Nala came to the shelter emaciated, after spending much of her life locked in a crate, with painful urine-scalded feet and legs. Despite everything she endured, she never lost her gentle spirit or her desire to trust people. She’s had professional training, giving her a solid foundation, and she wants so badly to do the right thing. After waiting at the shelter for quite some time, Nala finally found a home — only to be returned recently due to her adopter experiencing serious health issues. Through no fault of her own, she’s back, confused and waiting again.Nala has already survived more than any dog should have to. What she needs now is stability, patience, and someone who will see past her muscles to the soft heart underneath. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and can offer her a pet-free home, Nala is ready to love you with her whole big body and even bigger heart. 🐾More information? Story
Emerging from the depths of her enchanted kiddie pool, Vada the Troll Queen is here to claim your backyard, your hose, and your heart. This mischievous little gremlin is equal parts sass, splash, and snuggle (on her terms, of course). She’s a one-of-a-kind, hose-chasing, Kong-chomping legend—and she’s looking for a loyal human to serve as her humble subject.Vada’s ideal kingdom includes: • A hose with good water pressure (the royal fountain, obviously) • A steady supply of Kongs (the sacred treasure of her people) • Zero other dogs (she’s a solo troll, thank you very much) • Cats who know their place (bow or be batted at) • Minimal manfolk (she finds them suspicious)She may be wary of strange humans (especially tall, loud ones), but once you’re accepted into her inner swamp circle, Vada is fiercely loyal and surprisingly sweet. She’ll keep your yard safe from rogue sprinklers, overconfident squirrels, and any unauthorized lawn gnomes.Vada is not here to win “Miss Congeniality.” She’s here to rule, splash, and chew rubbery things until they squeak no more. If you’re looking for a gentle, dainty flower—keep walking. But if you’re ready to bow before the chaos goblin queen and laugh every day at her swampy shenanigans, your highness awaits.Long live Vada. Bring snacks.More information?
