Ahem… clears throat… taps microphone… H-hi everyone. Um. My name is Garth. (Please don’t look at me all at once.) I came in as a stray on 12/11/25, and they think I’m about 5 years old. I’m… uh… a handsome guy, apparently. I didn’t smile for the camera today because—well—this is all a lot. Crowds are scary. Cameras are scary. The shelter is scary. 😟 I’m very shy and I tend to stand close to you because you make me feel safe. I kind of look to my person for protection, like, “Is this okay? Are we good?” My eyes might look sad right now, but that’s just because I haven’t found my place yet. I’m hoping—very quietly—that someone kind will see me, take me home, and help me learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. I promise I’m worth it… I just need a little patience and a lot of love. Okay. Um. Thank you for listening. I’ll be available for adoption now. Meet Somersault!! He came in as a stray on 11/5/25, and we think he’s about 6 years old. Life hasn’t been easy for this sweet boy but his spirit hasn’t been broken. He’ll need soft food, lots of TLC, and he will be having his teeth examined soon to help him feel more comfortable. Despite his hardships, Somersault greets the world with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and a heart full of hope. He’s incredibly friendly, joyful, and ready to love anyone who gives him the chance. This gentle, resilient boy will be a loyal companion who truly appreciates every bit of love and care you offer. Jalene is a 5 years and 7 month old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage, she's especially crazy and pulls when squirrels are near! She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. Loves car rides, especially if there is a pup cup-minus the cup! No cats permitted in her new home. Jalene does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention (jealous). Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

I’m Fig! My foster family calls me Figgy Pudding!! I am a little shy at first but I warm up VERY quickly! I love my family so much and am the only dog in the house that likes snuggling the cats. I have some separation anxiety but nothing that can’t be worked on! I am potty trained and the best snuggler. I love to sleep on my back and I’m told I’m the best boy and best listener of all the dogs here! I love dogs, cats, and especially kids!
