Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Adoption Fee: $100.00 Meet Lulu Our fabulous resident senior is here to prove that age is just a number! At 8 years young, this Boxer/Lab mix is still full of energy, wiggles, and pure joy. Her happy “wiggly butt” greeting is guaranteed to make your day every single time! Lulu is as sweet as they come—friendly, loving, and absolutely obsessed with giving (and receiving!) kisses. She’s potty trained, enjoys her walks, and does wonderfully with kids. She may need a little polish on her leash manners, but she’s eager to please and ready to learn with her forever family. This girl still has plenty of pep in her step and so much love left to give.  If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a whole lot of heart, Lulu is your girl. Don’t overlook this golden-hearted sweetheart—her best chapters are still waiting to be written… maybe with you.  New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record. If you would like to adopt this very special K-9 kid, please go DIRECTLY to our website to complete our convenient Online Adoption Form.  Our website is www.perfectpawspetrescue.org cut and paste our web address into your browser to get to our site.  Email any questions to perfectpawsrescueinc@gmail.com NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.  Fort Wayne Indiana vicinity.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 5:21 pm

Story
Hi future best friend, I’m Jupiter! I’ve been told I’m a Boxer mix, but honestly I think I’m mostly just… dog? Big, wiggly, slightly slobbery good vibes. My time at FDHS has been...an event. You know how some dogs have a rough start at the shelter? Mine has mostly involved accidentally injuring myself in increasingly creative ways. First, I sliced my paw open, which led to three separate vet visits because I wasn't very committed to the healing process. Then I discovered something called Happy Tail Syndrome. If you're unfamiliar, it's what happens when a dog has a powerful wagging tail and absolutely no self-preservation instincts spends too much time whacking said tail against kennel walls. Long story short, I ended up needing a partial tail amputation. I look a little silly now, but I feel a whole lot better. The recovery process involved wearing a giant cone, which was deeply offensive to me. For weeks I wandered around looking like a satellite dish, occasionally running into walls, doors, and people. Nobody was safe. The good news is that I'm all healed up now and still just being me! I love my humans, I love attention, and if you sit down, I'll probably try to become part of whatever you're doing. Personal space is still more of a suggestion than a rule. Other dogs? Meh. I don't mind them, don't necessarily need them. Cats don't really seem to bother me either. If your household needs some slobbery kisses, a personal comedian, and a professional snuggle buddy - I am single and searching!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs 54 lbs**

Story
Meet Ragnar ❤️Ragnar is the kind of dog that reminds you the best things in life don’t have to be loud or complicated. At 9.5 years old, this handsome guy is past the puppy chaos and fully embracing the “good boy with great manners” phase of life. He’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and just happy to be around people. Ragnar seems to get along well with other animals and has been nothing but lovable since arriving at the shelter. He’s the kind of companion who would probably enjoy a comfy couch, a soft bed, and simply being near his person. And the best part? Ragnar is completely ready for his fresh start. He’s neutered, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and hoping his next chapter includes a family to call his own.Senior dogs have a special kind of magic about them. They love deeply, ask for little, and somehow make a house feel more like home.Come meet Ragnar at DeKalb Humane Society. We think once you meet him, you’ll understand why everyone here has fallen for him. 🐾An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
