Story
Hero came to PCHS as a local stray unclaimed. He was traveling with another dog, that was hit and killed by a car. Hero is a very active dog, adjusting well to having daily care and TLC. He is housebroken, but will need additional leash walking training. Hero is food motivated. He would benefit with an active home and lifestyle with reassurance. Hero loves to splash around in water! If you have another dog, meet and greet is required. We believe Hero will be a loyal companion.

IDGSR Welcomes MURF into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hiya! My name is Murf and I'm an adorable 6-month old Shepherd mix little boy. I am located near the Greeneville, Tennessee area and am available for transport to my forever home! My mom is a pretty German Shepherd mix. My dad, well, we think he was the milkbone delivery doggo and aren't sure of his breed. We do know that I'm 100% adorable! People tend to overlook me because I'm a mix breed pupper but I think you're missing out! I'm loving, affectionate, CAT FRIENDLY, sweet, medium in size, and overall just great! I have so much love to give and desperately want a family to call my own! Like any young pup, I love to eat, sleep, play with my siblings, explore, and eat and sleep some more. I am getting curious of my surroundings and will love to go on adventures when I'm bigger. If you are looking for a loving, adorable, curious, energetic, and down right cute new bestie - I'm your guy! Story
UPDATE: Maia was pregnant when we was attacked and had 6 puppies on June 23rd.  Two of her surviving puppies, Ziva & Zinnia, are ready for adoption and we need to find a nice furever home for Maia as well.  She is very sweet with people including children.  Maia is blind but navigates familiar spaces smoothly.  She loves to lay in the grass while her foster mom works in the garden.  Maia can be an only dog or possibly go with a calm male dog. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a Maia update since she was attacked last week. First, we thank you for all the generous donations we received on behalf of Maia! We asked & boxer lovers answered! She's doing really well. In fact, she’s healing SO well, she'll be cleared for transport this weekend!  She's taking antibiotics, pain meds & having her wounds cleaned.  We'd love to have a foster/adopter to welcome this sweet girl when she arrives in the Northeast this weekend.  She deserves love & comfort after this trauma. Since we've had Maia, we learned she is heartworm positive. We started her treatment plan which is paid for by your generosity.  She is also visually impaired. She walks well outside on leash but inside bumps into walls and doors.  It's also possible she's never been inside a house.  When dogs bark, she freezes but with encouragement from her foster she remains calm.   Please continue helping us with Maia! If you can provide a safe place for her arrival, please contact your coordinator or apply here: https://www.chelseashopeboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/May 17, 2024, 9:46 am

Story
Meet our Christmas miracle Rose, who was saved by her own Christmas miracles while sedated on the euthanasia table. Those miracles - her newborn pups! Rose was surrendered to a high kill shelter by a family who simply didn’t want her any longer. Forgotten and unclaimed, she was marked for euthanasia. In her most dire moment, already on the table with catheters placed and sedatives administered, ready to be euthanized, an unexpected miracle occurred. As Rose lay there, teetering on the brink of the end, she went into labor. This incredible turn of events halted the procedure, and her life, along with her unborn puppies, was spared in those critical moments. We contacted by the shelter and they wanted Rose and her puppies out immediately, even more heartbreaking was that she still had the needles in her veins when they dragged her out to our volunteers car. Now, Rose and her puppies are safe under our care, but this is where the hard work begins. We urgently need your help to provide Rose and her newborn puppies with the care and nurturing they desperately require. Every donation will contribute to: Essential veterinary care and monitoring for Rose and her puppies. Nutritious food and supplements for their recovery, and a safe and comfortable environment for their rehabilitation. We humbly ask you to consider making a donation, or simply spread the word about the great work CHBR is doing. Your generosity ensures that Rose, and many others like her, get every chance they deserve. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for always standing by us! UPDATE: Welcome Brutus to CHBR! Thank God this sweet fella made it out of Texas and is with a CHBR foster. Brutus is visually impaired but that doesn’t stop him from being the love bug he is and navigating his space like a champ! He LOVES his people and is dog friendly..he would be ok as an only child as well.  Brutus is only a baby, younger than originally thought, maybe 2-3 and looking for a forever home. Apply today at www.chboxerrescue.com The only sad part about Brutus' disability is that he will never be able to see how stunningly handsome he is! So you will have to tell him at least once per day !May 17, 2024, 9:46 am

Story
Update 2:  Valentina was discovered with a pack of stray/abandoned dogs nursing 9 puppies in January. We sprung into action to bring Valentina and her little ones to safety before an approaching deep freeze. Unfortunately they fell ill with parvo and required immediate medical intervention. Eight of the 9 puppies survived, are growing strong and receiving vaccines. 2 males are available for adoption in mid March. Valentina is their mom and a black shepherd is the father. Age: 12 weeks Weight: 10lbs Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes Kids: Yes  ***************************************************** Update 1 : 8 puppies are currently at a local vet receiving care due to the lack of transportation to the parvo center. We will allow the vet to make the decision on whether or not he believes they need further care or if he believes we have caught it soon enough to treat them here. The first pup who broke with parvo and went to Pet Dr 911 yesterday did not make it through the night. Parvo Emergency You guys may remember this mom and litter of 9 who came from Sullivan City. Unfortunately they contracted parvo. We now have 24 hours to get them to the parvo center and raise (ESTIMATED) $5229 to give them the best chance at survival. $379 pet 911 bill for the first pup to break with parvo (estimated) $500 PER DOG for their treatment at a parvo center May 17, 2024, 9:46 am
