Story
Dimples is a quiet, tender-hearted boy who’s having a tough time adjusting to life at the shelter. Right now, he’s feeling pretty shut down and overwhelmed by all the noise and unfamiliar faces—but we know there’s a sweet soul just waiting to come out with the right support. He can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but with patience, consistency, and a calm approach, Dimples begins to show signs of trust. He’s not the kind of dog to rush into things—but once he feels safe, you’ll see a soft, loving side that’s truly special. One thing that’s helped him shine is the company of other dogs. Dimples has been doing wonderfully with his canine companions here and would likely benefit from having a confident, friendly dog in the home to show him the ropes and help build his confidence. Dimples will need a quiet, understanding home that can give him the time he needs to feel secure. If you're someone who believes in going slow and celebrating small victories, Dimples could be the loyal friend you’ve been waiting for.

Story
'Look, it's just my resting dog face. I know it says 'I'm bored' but that's just because you haven't come to meet me!' ~Chili, probably Chili's serious face is hiding a silly, playful dog who has so much potential to love and be loved. She starts her meetings pretty overwhelmed and by the end is happily taking snacks from new people. She's gonna play the long game and hope you don't mind a date or two (or three) before she shows you her true personality! When she first arrived at APA!, Chili decided she didn't know any tricks and wasn't going to learn them neither. Luckily her volunteer friends are more stubborn than Chili and she soon learned sit, place, coming when called and sometimes down. When she's tired. And wants to take a break. Her stubborn nature just makes you want to love her more! On sleepovers from the shelter, her true personality will shine! She does the funniest zooms were her butt gets ahead of her front. She loves to pounce on her toys and take long walks in the neighborhood. She loves to burrow in on cold mornings and keep herself warm and your feet warmer! Did you know Chili comes with free pre- and post adoption training? Come learn more about her alongside the people who know here best!

Story
Meet Delphina — the little ray of sunshine who’ll steal your heart 💛 After being rescued from a West Texas shelter, this sweet, pocket-sized girl has been busy soaking up all the love Austin has to offer. And honestly? She gives back just as much as she gets. Delphina is pure joy wrapped in a wiggly, snuggly, slightly silly package. Every day when her foster mom comes home, she grabs one of her toys or bones — whatever she can find for emotional support — and comes running, tail wagging, whole body wiggling, ready to say hi. It’s impossible not to smile. She’s got the goofiest personality, too. Her “graceful” dismount from the couch involves stretching into a full frog-leg sploot and sloooowly sliding off until she finally plops to the floor. And when the zoomies hit? Look out — she gets those wild eyes and spins herself in circles like a happy little tornado. When she’s not cracking you up, Delphina’s all about the cozy life. She loves to lean her full weight against you for scratches, nap nearby while you work or read, and follow you from room to room just to stay close. She’s easygoing at home, perfectly content to nap the day away, and so excited to see her people when they walk through the door. Delphina’s the kind of dog who makes every day brighter — silly, sweet, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’ll bring warmth, laughter, and a whole lot of wiggles into your home, this girl’s waiting to meet you. Follow her adventures at @Delphina_thefosterpup to see just how special she is.

Story
Echinda (nicknamed Kenna) is a vibrant and affectionate medium-sized pup with a heart as big as her energy level. Though she was originally listed as a Labrador mix, a DNA test revealed her true heritage: a Boxer-Weimaraner combo—and she shows it in all the best ways! 💡 Brainy & Trainable: Kenna knows an impressive lineup of tricks, from Spin to High Five, and even a special “Clean Up” routine (for food, of course!). She responds to hand signals and unique cues like double-taps or clicks, showing just how tuned-in and intelligent she is. 💞 Affectionate Companion: Kenna is happiest when surrounded by love. She thrives on attention and affirmation from people she knows, and her soulful eyes will melt even the toughest of days. She’s looking for a family who can offer steady companionship and emotional support. Ideal Home: Kenna will do best with an active, engaged family who can offer both mental and physical stimulation. She loves tug-of-war, exploring new places, and solving treat puzzles. She will thrive from a good routine and some structure! If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, and lively dog who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Kenna might just be your perfect match.

Story
Desperately need to rehome Rocky who is about 70 lbs of energetic love. He is a mixed breed who is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He is also crate trained and potty trained and has never had an accident inside. We rescued Rocky about 7 months ago and are unable to keep him due to medical issues. He would be best in a home with a large yard and older children as he doesn’t realize how heavy he is when he gets excited and jumps up. He enjoys walks but can be difficult to handle due to his strength and desire to check everything out. He will come with his crate, dog toys and some food. The following is a breakdown 31% American Pit Bull Terrier 12% Great Pyrenees 11% Doberman Pinscher 6% Labrador Retriever 5% American Staffordshire Terrier
