Story
If you`re looking for a dog who will love you unconditionally, be your companion day in and day out, and quickly become a loyal member of the family, Bella is the pup for you!! Bella is an absolute cuddle bug with a zest for life! Nothing makes her happier than spending time with her humans, rolling on her back to get belly rubs or snuggling. Bella loves to go on walks, play with other dogs and get the zoommies outside.Bella has a natural curiosity for how the world works. She enjoys being part of her family`s daily routines, like going for car rides or heading to the farmer`s market or an outdoor restaurant. She`s even excited to go into her crate for a long, quiet night`s sleep! She`s housetrained, has excellent manners (knows sit, shake and sits when putting her harness on!) and is respectful of the home (not destructive). During her foster care, she lived with another dog and loved having the companion on her walks and to play with outside. Bella would be great in both a family with other doggos or as the only child!Loyal, affectionate and well-mannered, Bella has a lot of love and wants to put it all into her forever family. Behavioral characteristics: • Medium to active lifestyle• Leash trained• Crate trained• Loves people• Sleeps through the night

Story
Lee is full of love despite a rough past. He was found abandoned in the fall of 2023; his finder was only able to keep him temporarily and Lee lived outside. The shift to living in a shelter kennel has been tough on Lee, and he has developed wounds on his face from rubbing against his kennel bars out of stress. But when Lee is spending time with the volunteers who love him, he proves that he is still so capable of love and joy. Lee will melt to the ground for pets and belly rubs, and he absolutely LOVES rolling around with a squeaky toy! His greatest nemesis is the squirrel, and because of Lee’s prey drive, a cat-free home would be best for him. Lee deserves a forever home filled with squeaky toys and belly rubs, and in return you will have a best friend for life.

Clover`s foster family reports - Clover is the perfect blend of playful and sweet. She has zero fear around the resident large dogs and loves to play with them. Her other favorite activities are chewing on toys, being the definition of `puppy eyes`, and eating. Clover is pretty vocal about her feelings and lets you know her opinions! She doesn`t love being picked up but will immediately crawl in your lap if you sit down on the floor with her. She`s doing really well with crate training and potty training. The perfect, trainable pup to add to your pack!

Story
Georgie is a playful, happy young boy who especially loves being in his foster's backyard. He likes playing there with one of his foster's resident dogs. But his favorite thing to do is catch the water that comes out of the backyard hose. He loves jumping up and getting wet when his foster mom is watering the yard. So adorable! Indoors, Georgie becomes more of a chill boy. He loves giving kisses and hugs to his humans and playing with his stuffed animal toys. He gets along well with his foster's 5-year-old daughter. Then he's happy to lounge on the couch or in his bed with other dogs and takes naps in his kennel. He also sleeps there overnight. Georgie also walks well on a leash. He's curious and interested in everything he sees and may bark when he sees another walking dog. He also enjoys car rides. At home, he listens well and is making good progress on his house- and obedience training. Georgie will love a home where he can be part of the pack. He will love pet parents who can dedicate a lot of time, activity, and attention to him, and then be happy to relax with him. He likes dog buddies but is content to be alone - just wanting to be near his humans and able to see them. Come meet this sweetie. Tell him you water hose your backyard and he'll run home with you!

Story
This is Jack, a young brindle who is as sweet as can be. Our volunteers are spending quality time with Jack while he gets accustomed to his new surroundings. He seems to be pretty easygoing. A recent observation about this special boy: "Jack had fun running back and forth between the two of us. I would call him to come and he'd romp to me...then they would call him and he'd romp to them...getting pets. We tried to add a ball to try and play fetch but he was good just being the ball himself. Nice to see him romping and happy!" To meet Jack, please go to https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/WAGR-A-870 to fill out an application. There is no obligation to adopt a dog when you submit an application. Thank you!

Kenzie is the sweetest, goofiest girl. We are in the process of moving in with roommates and she's suddenly dog-aggressive, both with the new dogs and my other dog. I need to find a home where she is the only dog. Kenzie loves to go camping and kayaking with me, loves just lying around in the sunniest spot she can find and loves to cuddle. She's never been aggressive before and is great with my 6 yr old grandson. She's a shelter rescue that's been with me since she was 10 weeks old. Kenzie will be 2 yr old in August, is spayed/house- & crate- trained.

Story
Requested: The honor of being your girl and having a home to call her own… Miss Bagel loves easy home living. A quiet, simple life suits her just fine. She’s happy with a comfy spot for naps, and if you would like to indulge her, she’s watching her figure of course, but some favs are liver treats, and safe, healthy chew treats. Affections and belly rubs really makes her heart sing. Miss Bagel will use her good home manners to stay home alone quietly while you’re away and she’s fully house trained like you would expect from a mature lady. When you return home, she’ll be waiting as your loyal friend and best listener, so expect to tell her all about your day. Need a reason to get out for walks? She’ll be happy to help you meet your goals because that keeps her in fit form too. She may just be the best choice you make for an easy de-stressor in life. People of all ages appreciate mature dogs because they meld easily into their lifestyle without requiring the energy output or decade-long commitment a young pup would need. Give Bagel a try by reaching out to her foster provider through the ADOPT ME button which starts an inquiry and discussion. Bagel is advocated for by her many shelter fans including ClassicCaninesATX who provide her wellness care through a local clinic. We take the guesswork out of her health status. Full medical records are available so an adopter can simply take over management of her care at our clinic partner, or they may transfer her records to their own vet provider. And all of this with a no fee adoption.

Story
If you`d like a dog with an extra large side of derp, then we have just the pup for you.... Riley! He is so endearingly awkward and wiggly and his antics are guaranteed to make you laugh! At just under 2 years old, Riley is a youngin who loves all the things: his friends, his snacks, and his walkies. Riley is always happy to show off a few tricks he has up his sleeve: sit, stay, down and shake. And oh, you have some errands to run? Perfect because Riley loves riding in the car with all of his precious little heart (but of course please don`t leave any pet in the car when the weather is warm)!Riley has shown curious interest in other dogs but he has not been officially evaluated yet. If you have a playful resident dog, we can help get a meet & greet scheduled at the shelter with a member of the Behavior Team.Riley`s notes indicate that he has some resource guarding tendencies. While we have not observed this at the shelter, there is a possibility that this behavior could show itself in a home. He also cannot have certain toys, like tennis balls, because he will try to ingest them. While these are typically easily managed behaviors, Riley cannot go to a home with small children in order to keep everyone safe and happy. An ideal adopter for Riley will take him on walks to exercise his body as well as do some puzzle & focus games to exercise his mind! He will go home with the support of the Orange Dot Crew (a volunteer advocacy group at the shelter), a crate & goody bag, and free training assistance from Friends of AAC’s Behavior Assistance Program.

Story
Juna spent nearly a year being overlooked in the shelter before scoring a foster home. She was a volunteer favorite! While at the shelter, one of her volunteer friends said, ``Juna is one of the angel girls at the shelter. She is so sweet and happy. She waits for her people, ever so gently. I always feel happy when we are in a play yard and I get to see her running around and bouncing with a toy or a rope. She knows how to entertain herself and be carefree. Juna is one of the undiscovered pups; she is the kind of dog that you wonder, why is this sweet, angelic dog still here??`Juna`s foster says, `Juna is sweet and loving dog. Once she bonds with you, she is very aware of your mood and will comfort you when you`re upset. She loves going on walks, drives and being outdoors. She`s a gentle baby :) She`s an adorable girl who loves Indian food. She loves humans and loves to take over my bed. She`s very independent and will always ask you for anything she needs. She has the cutest underbite and the cutest eyes.`Juna prefers to be the only fur-child in the home and will give you all the love needed!
