Story
One of the best feelings in the world is to come home to somebody who is thrilled to see you. Louie is definitely the boy to do that! Any time we pass by Louie’s kennel at the shelter, he’s got that typical whole-booty boxer wiggle of happiness shaking just to see you and is tickled pink when he gets to go on a walk. This neutered male is super friendly toward people, extremely potty-trained, enjoys playing, will fetch toys and knows “sit.” As is typical with boxers, Louie might be a little vocal about his desire to play, so be ready to indulge him a bit. He will be so happy you did. Louie prefers his doggy friends to be female and tolerant. We`ll set up a meet and greet to make sure it`s a good fit. See his Instagram reel.Come meet this adorable goober today!

Story
Storm is a 3 year old brindle Boxer Lab mix who is very affectionate and loving. We rescued her from a local family who didn’t have room for anymore and are currently fostering while helping her find her forever home. Storm is crate-trained and potty-trained, but not spayed. Unfortunately, Storm is a bit too big (strong) for our 2 year old toddler who is also super playful and our family would like a dog that’s a bit smaller. She’s up to date on shots, and we’re willing to provide her food, toys, and crate along with a few toys. She would do best with a family with older kids or a couple or single person. She’s very cuddly and doesn’t need to be outdoors too much, but loves a good sunbathing session.

Story
If you are reading this, that means you are on the lookout for the best dog on the planet and you just hit the JACKPOT! My name is Braidee and I am a lovely 2 year old female boxer mix weighing in at 64 pounds. My story started on July 15, 2021 when I was picked up by animal control on Crooked Lane at just 17 weeks old. On July 17th I made my way to Paws in Prison and I have been there since then.  Do the math, that is 1 year and 8 months locked up in prison and it is time for YOU to bail me out as I have a life to live with you. Since entering the Paws in Prison program I have been a very busy student...I have all the training and skills to achieve a novice trick title, an intermediate trick title, and a canine good citizen title. The only thing that keeps me from getting these three certificates is YOU, an owner with an adress that isn't a prison! Not to brag, but l know all of my basic obedience skills as well as as sit pretty, bang, bow, whisper, kiss, shake, high 5, high 10, touch, pray, speak, spin, wave hi, where's my dog, beep beep, push, and "wow" game. Whew! They've also taught me some scentwork and I'm great at problem solving. May be you could buy me some fancy dog puzzles to mentally challenge me since I am the equivalent of a canine PhD! I need an owner who has experience with strong willed dogs. I really like to run and play with other dogs, but not when I first meet them. I have to get to know them first, so I'm not going to be your dog park dog. BUT I am going to be a terrific companion for a human who likes hiking, outdoor activities and cuddling. I even kinda like cats!  Please help me stop the trend of being at Paws in Prison longer than any of the other dogs. It makes me so sad when I am rejected or when I see other dogs get a forever home. Just think about how impressed your friends will be when you show them how smart I am. Heck you can even hang my titles on your wall of pride once we do the final testing!! I AM READY FOR YOU!!! To bust Braidee out of jail, please visit pawsinprisontx.org to read our adoption procedures and guidelines and fill out an application. You can see more of Braidee in action on our  Paws in Prison You Tube channel,  and our Facebook page, Friends of Paws in Prison. ##1246780##

Story
Introducing Rick Sanchez, the lovable 8-year-old Boxer with a heart full of goofiness and an infectious zest for life. Rick is a true character, known for his playful antics and his ability to bring joy to everyone around him.One of Rick's favorite activities is running around the yard, his paws kicking up the grass as he revels in the sheer freedom of movement. But after all that excitement, you can often find him sprawled out on the ground, clutching his favorite squeaky toy, enjoying a moment of pure relaxation.Rick's enthusiasm for play extends to chasing balls. He can't resist the thrill of the chase, but his mischievous side shines through as he occasionally decides not to bring them back, as if to tease his human companions. It's all part of his quirky charm that never fails to entertain. When it comes to motivation, Rick is all about treats. His eyes light up with anticipation, and his tail wags vigorously at the mere mention of a tasty reward. This makes him a quick learner and a joy to train, as his desire to please and his food-driven nature combine to make him a star pupil.Rick has had a journey of his own, having been rehomed previously due to not getting along with the men in the home. As a result, he would thrive best as the only pet in his new home, where he can bask in undivided attention and shower his human companions with endless love and affection. What truly sets Rick apart is his infectious smile. It's as if he knows the power he holds to brighten someone's day with a single wag of his tail and a toothy grin. His charming personality and playful nature make him an ideal companion for anyone in search of a loyal and goofy friend. With Rick Sanchez by your side, you can expect endless laughter, moments of pure joy, and a love that knows no bounds. He is a reminder of the simple pleasures in life and the importance of embracing each moment with enthusiasm and a big, goofy smile.

Story
Meet the best member of Austin Animal Center’s volunteer team - Ducky! This easygoing five year old pup has helped over 500 new dog volunteers learn the ropes since July 2021. You can catch him attending classroom and hands-on sessions patiently showing newbies the ins and outs of shelter dog walking. His favorite parts of teaching are enjoying a bully stick in his signature frog-legged sploot and meeting each new class member to see if they have any ear scritches or snacks to offer. Ducky has exceptional on-leash manners and looks forward to walks since he is incredibly housetrained and will not potty in his kennel. He has gone on several outings with his volunteer friends and has excellent car riding skills. Ducky has a moderate energy level and likes naps and couch snuggle time as much as walks. He enjoys playing fetch and will keep your yard free of any pesky squirrels! Ducky is looking for a home with a fenced yard and no other pets. He truly is an extravert and enjoys the company of humans, and while he has not specifically lived with children, we believe he would get along with respectful humans of all ages. Since Ducky makes so many new friends, he is politely reserved at first, but will reward you with snuggles and a smooch once you have gotten to know him. This gentle, good-natured boy is a favorite of staff and volunteers alike. Come to the Austin Animal Center and ask one of his friends to introduce him to you.

Story
See what Camila`s foster family has to say about her:Camila is a true cuddle pup and homebody. She is happiest when she can keep an eye, and paw, on her humans throughout the day. Her favorite activity is going on her regularly scheduled walks around the neighborhood, about 45 minutes, since she is very high energy and needs to burn it off. She is a creature of habit, and enjoys the same route each day, as she gets anxious outside and in new environments. If you`re looking for an adventure pup, it`s not Camila. Instead, she keeps her mind busy with lots of enrichment and puzzle toys throughout the day until her next walk. She is as intelligent as she is pretty and needs lots of attention and training to keep her on her toes. She would do best with owners that are willing to put in the time and effort to keep her on a schedule and keep up with her trainings. As loving as Camila is, she would not do well in a household with young kids, as she can be a little rude and very excitable. She takes a little while to warm up to people and slow introductions are the best for her. Once you`re in her good graces she will wiggle in excitement to greet you. Camila would do best in a home where she is the ONLY pet, and in a home with a large backyard. Camila`s second favorite activity is cuddling on the couch and demanding you pet her. Once she`s gotten all her pets she will make sure she`s comfy and will take an hour or two long nap, just enough time to binge a couple of episodes on Netflix. View her Instagram reel!

Story
Crush is a smart and super-duper house trained boy who, let`s be honest, doesn`t love shelter life. It`s hard to blame him - he`s also a sensitive dude and the noisy kennel buildings can be a bit overwhelming for him. But once you get him outside and away from everything, Crush is a completely different dog! He loves to zoom around the yard for as long as you will let him. It is super cute to watch him play with the toys... all of them, please! And if you have any treats in that pouch, he is happy to help take those off your hands. Crush has also invented a new kind of `fetch` where you throw the ball, and then chase him with it. You do you, Crush!Crush spent a few months in foster and we learned so much about him! He barks at the door when he needs to go outside to potty. He is crate trained but he can also be left out alone and not get into anything. Crush waits for the `yes` command before eating his meals. He did well with visiting a passive female pup his own size, but would get bossy with more assertive dogs, especially if they were male. Crush spent time with a toddler and was friendly and gentle with her, although there were a couple of times when he accidentally knocked her down. Crush does need proper intros with new people, especially men, but once you are his friend, you are in! His foster said that one of the most endearing things about him is that he would wrap his front arms around them whenever they would get back home and welcome them with a hug. Awww!
