Story
Miko is truly an experience that fills your heart with love and compassion. From the moment he was rescued approximately at six months old, it was evident that he had endured a difficult start in life. He was discovered in a state of poor health, burdened by fleas and even had a wire wrapped around his neck. This unfortunate past has left Miko with a timid nature, as if the world had not always been kind to him. However, once you earn his trust, you are welcomed into a world of the biggest and sweetest personality imaginable. His ability to play with other dogs is a testament to his resilient spirit. Regularly attending daycare allowed him to socialize and form meaningful connections with his furry companions. However it is crucial to acknowledge that Miko's past experiences have left him easily scared by loud noises and sudden movements. As a result, he may not be best fit for households with young children who may inadvertently cause him distress.  Miko's gentle nature shines through, as he has never displayed any signs of aggression towards anyone. If we were to summarize Miko's essence in just three words, they would undoubtedly be loyal, gentle, and playful. He has proven himself to be a loyal companion, always by your side through thick and thin. His gentleness radiates from him, making him an absolute joy to be around. And his playful nature brings endless laughter and happiness to those fortunate enough to share their lives with him. In terms of his overall well-being, Miko is a picture of health. He is both crate and potty trained, a testament to his intelligence and adaptability. Additionally, he has been neutered and is up to date on all of his necessary shots.  The only minor obstacle he faces is mild allergies and dry skin, which are effectively managed through the use of soothing coconut oil. In conclusion, Miko is a remarkable companion who deserves all the love and care in the world. His journey from a troubled past to a bright future is a testament to his resilience and capacity for forgiveness. Opening your heart to Miko means inviting an unwavering loyalty, a gentle soul, and an endless source of joy into your life. He is a true gem, ready to embark on a new chapter of love and happiness with a forever family. We offer transport from Houston to the Pacific Northwest every two weeks.  And guess what? Story
Whip is the sweetest guy around and is looking for his forever home! He is a stunner with a striking face and a beautiful brindle coat. Whip is around 9 months old and was rescued from a rough neighborhood on the reservation. He is very sweet and loves people after a short, initial warm up period- which is usually pretty quick because this boy is food motivated! He is friendly with other dogs and loves to play and wrestle with his friends. He loves soft cozy dog beds and bones and toys to play with. He's doing great on a leash and is learning how much fun it can be to ride in the car. When it's time to eat he gets so excited he will jump in the air and do happy dances. Whip is crate and house trained and is a pro at the dog door in his foster home. Whip will be happiest in a home with a yard to run in and another outgoing and friendly dog that will play with him. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Bruno is very playful, loves to play fetch. Eats Purina dog chow. Free feeds throughout the day. Has been losing weight and has a few skin tags in his back. Bruno is kenneled trained inside and outside. He loves playing outside but he will try to dig under the fence if there is another dog on the other side of the fence and if he’s not supervised. Bruno knows commands such as sit, shake, lay down. Do to personal reasons we are unable to keep him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, are you looking for that perfect friend that will watch all the TikToks you send them? Well, I may just be the girl for you. My foster mom has caught me watching her Tiktoks when she leaves her phone unattended and I somehow have figured out how to scroll. I also like to watch TV if it is something interesting. Although I sound like a couch potato I am not. I am only 8 months old so I still have some of that puppy energy left in me. I do enjoy running/zoomies in the backyard and chewing on toys as well. Playing with my foster brother is also a good time. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Pearl Star. I am listed as a female Boxer mix but I must be mixed with a shortie because I am not very tall. In fact, I'm very petite all around! I currently weigh about 30lbs and shoudl top out around 40lbs. My foster mom says I could still be a type of bully breed because I have swagger when I walk ;) It would be interesting if my future family did a DNA test for me. Some other details about me, I am really close to being potty trained. I have not had an accident in a while. I am crate trained and sleep in a crate during the night. I would say I am quiet in my crate but I do snore...does that count? I have a big personality, my face is like an emoji and you can tell what I am thinking. I know I am super awesome but I do have 1 small confession. I am a little shy with humans. I am learning to trust and my foster mom says I would do really well with some confidence training. She has already taken me to a class and I loved it! I am learning to walk properly on a leash and will sit for food. I am working on my wait command but "down" is not a concept I have mastered yet. I am food motivated, (I mean, who isn't) and that is a really good incentive for me to interact with my people. Small kids with quick movements scare me so it would be best to be in a house with older kids. Snuggling is still scary too, but I will get there with time and patients. I just need time to grow to my full awesome potential. Will you be the one to watch me grow? All you have to do to meet me is fill out an application....hope to see you soon.   https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2024, 12:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi guys, I’m Zima! Like my namesake, I am bubbly, fun and ready to party! I am just over a year old and listed as a boxer mix. No idea what my breed makeup actually is, but I have a beautiful brindle coat and the cutest forehead wrinkles! I am full grown at about 60lbs. I also have plenty of energy and brains to spare! I have already learned so many things with my foster mom and I can’t WAIT to learn more! I am 100% crate trained and potty trained, and I walk very well on leash. I also know how to sit, lay down and wait when I’m told to. Now…I don’t *always* listen, because I’m at the “teenage” stage of being a doggy, haha, but I definitely know how to do those things! I am very entertaining, my favorite game is “hide and seek” and I will hide under the bed or around the corner from you – even behind a tree! But I’m silly, because the minute you offer me a treat, I come running! I looooove to play. I have foster brothers in my current home and they are a blast. We chase and wrestle and have a great time! I am very friendly and have loved all the dogs I’ve met and would be a great friend to your pup! I also think toys are amazing and LOVE me a chew toy! I’m excellent in my crate ad calm when I have my energy needs met. I love to sit by foster mom while she gets ready to go out and I seem to pay close attention while she does makeup, hair, etc. I am telling her how beautiful I think she is <3 I am really a super good girl and I can’t wait to find my forever family so I can start loving them. If you think that could be you, apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2024, 12:22 pm

Story
OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Sera is a big gal that loves everyone. She needs some work with her leash manners, but appears housetrained and knows the sit and down commands. She loves playing with toys and in general, is very playful. She can be reactive when behind a barrier (fence or kennel) toward other dogs, but doesn’t seem to mind them when out and about. She’s curious about cats. Weighs 87 pounds, $25 to adopt.
