Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Lady is an 18‑pound Cocker Spaniel sweetheart who believes her true calling in life is to be your personal shadow, couch companion, and professional snuggle consultant. She’s friendly and outgoing at home, and while she may start off a little cautious in new places, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved. She is extremely food motivated and will happily demonstrate her “sit,” “come,” “shake,” and “outside” skills in exchange for snacks. She’s partially blind in her right eye, which gives her a bit of mysterious pirate‑princess energy, and may explain why she’s not a fan of chaotic environments or overly enthusiastic dogs. Big, bouncy dogs? Hard pass. Bossy little female dogs? Also no thank you. Calm senior pups? Absolutely—she’ll happily share space with the chill crowd. Lady came to us with 30% vision in her right eye due to juvenile cataracts because of this she will be more prone to glaucoma in that eye and will need annual eye check ups. Lady loves small squeaky toys, stuffies, and anything that makes noise when she pounces on it. She’s slightly active with a moderate energy level, meaning she’s always up for a walk, a car ride, or running errands, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up next to you and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. She’s a world‑class snuggler and will happily join you on the couch or in a chair, molding herself into whatever shape is required for maximum coziness. She’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and prefers a fenced yard because she’s not consistent about going potty on leash. She can be a bit barky in the crate at first, but she settles with time. She’s good with cats, good with adults, and likely best with older or considerate kids who understand her gentle, slightly nervous nature. Lady is a happy, goofy, affectionate little love bug who just wants to be with her people. She’ll make you smile with her antics, warm your lap with her snuggles, and brighten your days with her sweet, soulful presence. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Daisy Duke is a gentle little Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest soul and the kind of quiet resilience that slowly melts your heart. It’s clear Daisy spent most of her life confined to a kennel or small space with very little human affection, and now she’s learning — step by step — that she deserves so much more than simply being used to have puppies. She’s discovering what it means to feel safe, cared for, and truly loved for the very first time. Daisy is shy and cautious at first, but beneath that timid exterior is a dog who desperately wants connection. She has started climbing onto the bed beside her foster family and will quietly inch her way within arm’s reach for gentle pets, though she still avoids eye contact while she builds confidence. The sweetest part? The moment you stop petting her, she scoots just a little closer, silently asking for more. She’s also beginning to discover how to simply be a dog. Daisy watches her foster siblings carefully and has started sneaking toys away to investigate when she thinks nobody is watching. She enjoys turkey tendon chews, carrots, lick mats, and just about any treat you leave for her in a quiet, safe spot. She’s never pushy for attention or food and would much rather hang back and observe until she feels comfortable. Daisy is crate trained, does very well in her kennel, and knows commands like “outside” and “kennel/crate.” She’s making great progress with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. She is still learning leash skills, but because she is easily frightened and remains a flight risk, a secure fenced yard will be required for her safety. Loud noises, thunderstorms, and overwhelming commotion can still be very scary for Daisy, so she would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands healing takes time. She greatly prefers the company of female dogs (who can blame her after all those years of breeding) and simply asks another confident canine companion (who won’t give off baby making vibes) in her forever home to help continue showing her the world is a safe place. Daisy Duke is not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one — she’s the kind who quietly changes your heart forever. Watching her learn to trust, seek affection, and slowly bloom into the dog she was always meant to be is something truly special. She’s ready for a family who will give her all the love, patience, and gentle kindness she has waited her whole life to receive. Story
Hi there! I’m Lentil, a 3-year-old male Springer mix and a sensitive soul who is just waiting to become your "heart dog." I’m a smart cookie with excellent house manners; I’m already neutered, potty trained, and very eager to please, which makes me a breeze to train. I know a bunch of commands like touch, sit, lay down, and paw, but my personal favorite is "sit pretty." I’m a true gentleman who waits for a release cue at the door, and I walk beautifully on a leash, always paying close attention to your cues. I'll also politely give you my paws to wipe clean when I come back inside. Life with me is all about companionship—I’m a loyal shadow who will follow you from room to room, and I absolutely love going for car rides, getting back scratches, and exploring the great outdoors. While I am kennel trained and often go into my "safe space" on my own when I need a break, I am perfectly behaved when you’re away and through the night if left out. At bedtime, my favorite spot is right on the floor next to your bed so I can be near you. I have a lower-moderate energy level; I love my walks and playing with my tennis ball, but I also have a sensitive side and am perfectly happy just lounging near you while you go about your day. Because I’m so in tune with everything around me, I can sometimes get a little excitable or anxious, but I take a small daily medication to help build my confidence. I do best when my human stays calm and confident to help me settle back down, so I’m looking for a calmer home with adults or older, respectful kids. I’m quite respectful with other dogs and would enjoy a calm, confident canine sibling or being your one and only. I should mention that I'm a bit too interested in trying to play with cats, so I need a home without feline or small animal friends.  I might not be the life of the party, but once we bond, I’ll be your most devoted companion and heart dog. Are you the match I’ve been looking for? I'm ready to start our journey together! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 11, 2026, 2:01 pm
