Lola is a very sweet 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix who weighs 32 lbs. She was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield and likely had a litter of puppies prior to being rescued. She was scheduled to be euthanized at the shelter for lack of space. She is currently in a foster home, rescued hours before her time was up. Lola is very loving, has a calm temperament, loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She gets along great with adults, kids and other dogs. She would be best suited with an individual or family who is fairly active. She could possibly live in an apartment if daily walks are routine. She loves to play with other dogs regardless of size and is pretty indifferent with cats. She is crate and house trained: the foster is working on basic obedience commands with her. She is healthy, up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Lola is relatively calm and would rather follow you around and cuddle on the couch than roughhouse. Meet Rocky, our Contra Costa Animal Services survivor â¤ï¸ Rocky was rescued just minutes before being euthanized after arriving at the shelter as a stray. The shelter environment was confusing, scary, and stressful for him—but even through it all, Rocky showed nothing but kindness. He remained friendly with staff and other dogs and quickly became everyone’s favorite. Rocky is a 3.5-year-old Bull Terrier mix, weighing about 50 lbs. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Rocky is great with people and other dogs and absolutely loves to play with his canine friends. He is house trained, great with kids, handles very well on the leash. He is so eager to learn and please. He’s a happy, loving boy who is ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter. Lola is the sweetest 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix who weighs 32 lbs. She was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield and likely had a litter of puppies prior to being rescued. Her foster Dad was sent a Facebook post from the shelter, which announced her impending euthanization due to lack of public interest (likely due to her breed being hastily labeled as “Pit Bull” at the time). Luckily, Lola was taken in by her foster Dad six hours before her scheduled euthanization. Despite her past, Lola has the most loving and calm temperament, and is the absolute definition of a “Velcro dog”. She quietly shadows her foster Dad wherever he goes, then crawls into his lap when he sits down. Her favorite activities include snuggling, cuddling, and receiving belly rubs! She recently discovered the joy of chasing a ball and will always try to get her foster brothers to join her. Lola bonds to humans and other dogs very quickly, no matter their age, gender, or size, becoming a member of the family within hours! As for obedience, Lola is currently working on minimizing licking, which she often does when excited. However, with some gentle warnings and treats, Lola responds well to training and is a fast learner. She is already fully crate-trained and potty-trained; every foster’s dream! While she does get along with other dogs of all sizes and ages, Lola is not strongly dependent on canine companionship; she would be happy regardless of another dog in the home. She prioritizes snuggling with her family, receiving lots of pets, and eating yummy snacks! MEDICAL HISTORY: Lola does not have a history of medical issues, underlying health problems, or is in need of veterinary care. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. IDEAL HOME: Lola would do best with an individual or family who is moderately active and ready to give her all the snuggles! She gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages (including puppies), as well as humans and young children. We would be open to potential adopters living in an apartment or condo, as long as daily walks are routine. Get ready for some Razzle Dazzle! His foster mom says, “Razzle reminds me of a maple donut. I love how wiggly he is when he is happy and he is almost always carrying a stuffy around.” Can you imagine a better way to be greeted when you enter a room? His foster mom also describes him as adorable, loving, intelligent, and eager to please—with a dash of silliness to round it out. Razzle may have been born in the city, but he’s more of a country boy at heart, preferring peace and quiet and a calm routine. He appreciates his creature comforts, and is happy to spend the day chilling in his cozy crate or lounging in the house while you’re at work. On the weekend, he even likes to sleep in. He loves hopping in the car and sniffing the wind through the window crack on his way to SniffSpots to have adventures.
