Story
3 1/2 old Bull Terrier/Dalmatian mix. Mainly white with black spots on underbelly. Adopted IVHS 9/21/22, neutered and up to date with shots. He is not good with strangers and kids. Pope needs a lot of attention and loves to constantly play with other dogs and his toys. Pope has separation anxiety and does not like to be alone. We can’t give him what he needs and would love him to go to a pack environment, he likes to sleep warm and next to someone! He is extremely Possessive of my husband and has bitten me twice. He prefers men. Loves long hikes and camping and running in water. We are too old to give him all this and would love for someone to give him a shot at a happy full content life. Please help us help our Pope.

Story
Lola is the sweetest 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix who weighs 32 lbs. She was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield and likely had a litter of puppies prior to being rescued. Her foster Dad was sent a Facebook post from the shelter, which announced her impending euthanization due to lack of public interest (likely due to her breed being hastily labeled as “Pit Bull” at the time). Luckily, Lola was taken in by her foster Dad six hours before her scheduled euthanization. Despite her past, Lola has the most loving and calm temperament, and is the absolute definition of a “Velcro dog”. She quietly shadows her foster Dad wherever he goes, then crawls into his lap when he sits down. Her favorite activities include snuggling, cuddling, and receiving belly rubs! She recently discovered the joy of chasing a ball and will always try to get her foster brothers to join her. Lola bonds to humans and other dogs very quickly, no matter their age, gender, or size, becoming a member of the family within hours! As for obedience, Lola is currently working on minimizing licking, which she often does when excited. However, with some gentle warnings and treats, Lola responds well to training and is a fast learner. She is already fully crate-trained and potty-trained; every foster’s dream! While she does get along with other dogs of all sizes and ages, Lola is not strongly dependent on canine companionship; she would be happy regardless of another dog in the home. She prioritizes snuggling with her family, receiving lots of pets, and eating yummy snacks! MEDICAL HISTORY: Lola does not have a history of medical issues, underlying health problems, or is in need of veterinary care. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. IDEAL HOME: Lola would do best with an individual or family who is moderately active and ready to give her all the snuggles! She gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages (including puppies), as well as humans and young children. We would be open to potential adopters living in an apartment or condo, as long as daily walks are routine. FUN FACTS: - Lola is a relatively calm pup, and would rather cuddle on the couch than roughhouse. - She is usually quite indifferent to other dogs, but will play if initiated! - She has an adorable smiling expression when she is happy or content. - Lola sleeps beside her foster Dad every night. - She always waits for “permission” before jumping on her foster Dad’s lap!

These pups are in Pasadena, California too!

Story
#A5258180 Bella is an 8-year-old, 58 lb spayed female Boxer with a beautiful fawn-and-white coat and a sweet, soulful face. Surrendered by her owner on October 24, 2025, Bella is described as incredibly sweet but also a little nervous and unsure in the shelter. She’s gentle and tolerant, but her body language in the kennel suggests she’s overwhelmed by the environment and needs time to decompress. Bella walks nicely on leash, appears housebroken, and has a calm, low-energy personality. She’s tolerant of other dogs but should be the only pet in her new home due to a prior history of conflict with a housemate. Bella would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where she can feel safe, relax, and enjoy the comfort and companionship she deserves. -8 years old, spayed female, 58 lbs -Boxer, fawn with white markings -Owner surrender on 10/24/2025 -Very sweet but nervous and tense in the shelter -Low energy level; calm and easy to leash -Appears housebroken -Tolerant of other dogs but must be the only dog in the home -Adult-only home recommended -Adoptable with a health waiver for further vet follow-up -Sensitive, loving senior ready for a peaceful, understanding home   BELLA’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/mlFnCsJvXhg For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org     ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
#A5738754 Say hello to Zeus , a 1year 8 month old Boxer mix with a stunning toffee-colored short coat, accented by soft creamy whites and the prettiest brown eyes - warm pools of whisky outlined in natural eyeliner. Though he’s sturdy and muscular, don’t let his strong build fool you - this sweetheart is a total smoosh, made for cozy cuddles and making you feel safe and loved. When he had the whole yard to himself with a volunteer, all he wanted was to sit close and soak up every bit of affection. Despite his size, he’s actually underweight and could benefit from a few extra pounds to feel his strongest and healthiest. Gentle, loving, and incredibly loyal, Zeus is truly an all-around winner. This darling boy is ready to be the perfect companion to someone who’ll adore him as much as he adores you. Come take him home today!     -1 year 9 month old brown and white Boxer mix -66 pound neutered male  -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/15/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and no idea why! Zeus has clearly not had the best life, so this is hopefully a chance at a fresh start -could use a little leash refresher, as he’s a big strong boy, but he’s already potty trained, with a calm and sweet personality, and eager to please, so could easily learn more! -a bit selective with other pups, so slow, intentional intros to other calm, respectful pups would be best, or allowing Zeus to be king of the household     ZEUS’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/J5uvNuoaCYc   For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org     ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter.
