Story
Say hello to athletic Ali (like Muhammad Ali). This sporty pup has ALL the energy. Ali is not a good match for a first time dog owner, home with small children or unsteady humans, folks with weak arms or shoulders, or anyone looking for a couch potato dog. That`s not Ali. Ali is a go-go-go type of dog. He wants to live every moment of life to the fullest! Adventure! Exercise! Play! Laughter! Toys! More play! More adventure! He’d love a life where he had a safe yard with very high fencing, humans who like to run or hike and have a good foundation of dog experience, and of course- lots of toys to play with and destroy with impressive skill. Ali needs training- at only 9months old he’s in a bit of a teenage phase. He’s strong and motivated on leash and relatively moderate in his reaction to other dogs as he walks past kennels. Ali has a zest for play and adventure which is charming and inspiring. Don’t we all need that one friend that gets us out the door doing new things? Well, that’s Ali! If Ali sounds like the buddy for you, come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to meet him!

****COURTSEY ADOPTION LISTING FOR UNDERDOG HEROES*** We are processing adoption applications for our rescue partner. Reno is a sweet boy who is 5 years and he grew up on the streets and was relinquished to us by a homeless man who is now in a treatment facility. He gets along with other dogs, as long as no toys are present. He doesn't love sharing, but enjoys being around them. He is affectionate, walks well on leash, does well in car. He just had a full vet check and is a healthy guy who is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. Boxer experience would be preferred for this playful guy. https://www.underdogheroes.org/applytoadopt

Story
Hopper is a loving and protective family dog. He plays hard and loves even harder. His favorite things are laughter, kisses, and cuddles. I have had the pleasure of being Hopper’s foster mom for one year. When he arrived it was apparent that he was just under a year old and had never had formal training. He is now potty trained, kennel trained, knows basic commands as well as some tricks, and has been neutered. Although he walks well on leash, he is still learning. He has proven to play well with other dogs (my dog and the dogs at the dog park). He is recommended for someone that has kids over 10. Although he can be very gentle and laid back, he has aloof boxer energy and could knock smaller children down by accident while playing or celebrating. He is not recommended for those entering their golden years for the same reason. Hopper would love to share a home with another dog and kids, he has not been tested with cats but cats are not recommended. Please reach out if you would like to meet Hopper. He is currently located in San Diego.

Story
Buford was found in the streets of LA by a good Samaritan, skin and bones, then luckily found himself in a warm foster home with a pack of three other wonderful large dogs. He has proven to be a real gem, melding in nicely and being a perfect gentleman in his foster home, and is now ready for his forever home. This 90 lb love bug enjoys many things: sun bathing, cuddling and snuggling on bed or couch, playing fetch, watching Netflix with his human buddy, and playing with his stuffed animals. He is a quick learner and so easy to please - sits on command, goes to his pen when asked and at mealtime where he patiently awaits his food, goes potty before bedtime and is a great all night sleeper, knows how to properly position himself in front of the fan for summertime cool-off, and eager to learn more tricks! His best fit home is one with a good sized yard for him to run around in, and people ready to take him out for walks, hikes and adventures (with continued work on his leash training he will be that perfect outdoor companion). Anyone ready to call him part of their family will be very very lucky. If you think you are a good fit, please email therealbark@gmail.com so you can meet him!

Story
Meet Macaroni! This 2-year-old male brindle pit bull mix is as smart as he is handsome. He’s a quick learner and already mastered “sit” after just a few tries (and treats!). Macaroni is respectful of his space—he’s a gentleman who doesn’t get on furniture, which is a plus for any home. He’s learning to share his favorite red ball but still finds it hard to let go, though he’s starting to put it in your lap in exchange for treats.Macaroni is eager to please and makes friends easily, greeting people and other dogs with a happy attitude. However, he’s still working on his leash skills; right now, he thinks the leash is a toy and gets a bit too excited, so he’ll need some training and patience in that area. He’s energetic and playful, especially with tug-of-war, but we recommend carrying the rope toy in a container, as he can get a little too excited if he sees it dangling from your hand. This enthusiastic boy would do best with an active family that doesn’t have very small kids, as his boundless joy sometimes makes him a bit unaware of his size. With a bit of guidance and some dedicated training, Macaroni will be a loyal, fun-loving companion ready to fill your home with love and laughter. He’s ready to be your best buddy—are you ready to be his?I`m available for a 10 day adoption trial!Learn more about our adoption process.

Trina is an incredibly sweet, loving, and cuddly goofball who will immediately steal your heart. This adorable, silly girl loves people, plushy toys, and is a surprisingly gifted athlete with a soccer ball. Her ideal day includes playing with her toys and people, getting a good case of the zoomies, and napping on the couch surrounded by fluffy blankets. Trina is housetrained, sleeps through the night, walks well on a leash, knows not to chew on anything other than her toys, and is easy to train (especially with lots of treats on hand). She will be a perfect pet for anyone without other pets, and will quickly have everyone laughing at her silly antics and falling in love with her adorable face and sweet personality.Trina is available for a 10 day adoption trial!Learn more about our adoption process.
