Story
Description Roo is a young white and tan female bull terrier mix with a medium build. She is well socialized and gets along great with everyone. Personality Roo is a very loving dog that gets along great with her foster home’s other 3 larger dogs. She loves to cuddle. She is full of energy and loves to run. She is doing fantastic with behavior, is crate trained, house trained and does well on leash. She is learning to fetch and will sit on command. A smart, cuddly, happy girl. Background Roo was found in September near Louetta Rd and Forrest Lodge Dr in north west Houston (Heatherwood Village Entrance). She willingly and happily got into her finder’s car. She was not chipped and had no collar when found. Has been fostered by her finder for many months as they attempted to locate a possible owner. She was listed on multiple lost /found pet social media pages and websites, but there were no responses. She was in good shape and overweight when found. She is losing weight being active with her other dog playmates. If you are looking forward to meeting me please contact my shelter gnarhouston@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Albert 🤍 📍 New Waverly, TX 🎂 Estimated 6–8 years old ⚖️ 57 lbs Albert is the kind of dog who quietly becomes your whole heart. This handsome Bull Terrier is deaf, visually limited, a little medically high-maintenance, and absolutely one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He adores people, loves to snuggle, and would happily spend most of his day burrowed into a blanket or pressed against his person on the couch. Albert showed up as a stray in rough shape, dealing with skin, eye, and ear issues that are now being managed successfully in foster care. He does require ongoing maintenance, so his forever home needs to be comfortable staying on top of his routine and medical care. 🩺 Albert’s Care Needs Albert is currently maintained on: Fluoxetine twice daily Daily allergy medication Prescription eye care Purina One Sensitive Stomach food (he seems sensitive to chicken) Occasional medicated baths for skin/yeast management The good news? He’s an excellent patient. He takes medication easily, is fantastic for baths, and even impressed the groomer recently with how sweet and cooperative he was during nail and hyperkeratosis care. His eye routine requires patience and consistency, but he tolerates it well with calm, confident handling. 🐶 Personality Albert is affectionate, goofy, gentle, and deeply people-oriented. Despite being middle-aged, he still has playful moments and enjoys toys, puzzles, short walks, and cozy naps in the sun. He’s dog-friendly but more of a coexistence-type dog than a rough-and-tumble playmate. He has also lived around cats without showing aggression. 🏡 Ideal Home Albert would thrive in a calm, stable home that: is committed to maintaining his medical routine appreciates a lower-key companion wants a loving shadow dog more than a hiking buddy He’s crate trained, excellent on leash, and settles beautifully in the home. ❤️ The Bottom Line Albert isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone willing to love him exactly as he is—and in return, he’ll give you every ounce of his sweet little heart.

Story
Meet Teddy 🤍 📍 Conroe, TX (transport is available) 🎂 ~8 years old Teddy (formerly “Bones”) didn’t come into rescue in good shape—he was found emaciated and dumped. But you wouldn’t know it now. He’s filled out, settled in, and turned into a genuinely happy, social dog who just wants to be part of someone’s life. He’s in that ideal stage—past the chaos, still playful, and easy to live with. He enjoys walks, follows his people around, and is more than content to crash on the couch when the day is done. 🐶 Dogs: Teddy likes other dogs and wants to interact. He lived for a month with a small dog and did well, and he regularly shows interest in meeting other dogs. That said—he’s a bigger dog with an enthusiastic, “let’s play” personality. He can come on strong, so he does best with dogs that are tolerant of that energy. He’s not looking for conflict—just maybe doesn’t always read the room perfectly. He would also do just fine as an only dog. 🐱 Cats: Unknown 🏡 Ideal Home: Someone who wants a friendly, involved companion and understands normal dog introductions and boundaries. A yard is a bonus, not required. ❤️ The Bottom Line: Teddy isn’t a project. He’s a good dog who got dealt a bad hand and bounced back. Now he’s ready to land somewhere he can stay.

Story
Buddy doesn’t see the world the way you do… but he feels it better than most. 📍 Katy, TX 🐾 5 years old | ~40 lbs Buddy only sees shadows—but don’t mistake that for limitation. Give him a little time, a steady routine, and a calm space… and he maps your home like he’s lived there forever. He learns you. Your voice becomes his guide. Your presence becomes his safety. This is not a loud, chaotic, center-of-the-action dog. Buddy is for the person who finds peace in quiet mornings, soft routines, and a dog curled up beside them instead of bouncing off the walls. He’s: • Completely house trained • Dog friendly (especially calm, respectful dogs) • Low energy and beautifully mannered • Gentle, affectionate, and deeply connected to his person He doesn’t need a busy life—he needs a predictable one. A home where things stay in place. Where voices stay kind. Where he can exhale and just be. While he’s shown sweetness toward children, Buddy will do best in a calm, structured home that understands his world is different—and honors that. This is the kind of dog people wait years for… but only if they recognize him. If you’re looking for noise, activity, and constant stimulation—he’s not your dog. If you’re looking for a quiet, devoted companion who will bond to you in the most genuine way… Buddy is already waiting.

Story
Dina is a sweet, independent girl who's been with us for over two years, patiently waiting for the perfect family to call her own. When she first arrived, Dina was a high-energy party pup who was all about having fun and exploring. Over time, she’s matured into a calmer, more laid-back companion who is happy to entertain herself when needed. Dina is a joy to walk – she’s easy to leash up and walks well without much pulling, making her a great companion for walks around the neighborhood. She has a low to medium energy level when loose in the play yard and is very treat-motivated. She takes treats gently from your hand, though she’s a little sneaky and may try to nab one before you’re ready to give it! While she may not know any tricks yet, she’s eager to learn and would love to show off her skills with some patience and positive reinforcement. She’s very treat motivated. Dina is barrier reactive towards other dogs. With a slow introduction face to face she gets along with them much better. She's a bit tense and awkward with other dogs at first, but as long as the other dog is patient with her and able to read her social cues she warms up really well and they’ll be running and playing together in no time. If you're looking for a laid-back, independent dog who’s ready to settle into a loving home and be your one and only, Dina might be the perfect fit. Come meet her today – she’s waiting for her happily ever after!
