Story
Hi, Im Trixie. I was born in a place where little kittens like me dont usually get a fair chance. Dogs often get to us before we can grow up safe and loved. But one day, a kind Good Samaritan found me, scooped me up, and gave me the second chance I never knew Id get. Now Im learning what it feels like to be truly cared for, and Im ready to share all my sweetness, purrs, and cuddles with a forever family of my own. Please visit our website desertpawssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Hi, Im Rascalette, and Im almost ready to find my forever person.Im a petite polydactyl girl with bright blue eyes and a gentle soul. I was rescued by a kind human named Marisa who feeds and cares for feral colonies in Indio. The moment she saw me, she knew I didnt belong out there. I wasnt feral, just a little lost in the shuffle.Im still learning to trust. I wont come running up to you, at least not yet, but if youre patient and gentle, Ill let you pet me and maybe even hold me. I just need time, calm energy, and someone who understands that Ive been through a lot. If you sit quietly, Ill slowly start to come closer. I promise.Ive been spayed, vaccinated, and Im now in a loving foster home where Im making steady progress every day. Id do best in a quiet home with no small children. Older respectful teens might be okay, but what I really need is someone who will give me space to grow at my own pace.Since busy adoption events would be too much for me, Im hoping for a foster to adopt situation, a home where I can slowly settle in and feel safe. Cats like me often become the most loyal and loving companions once were given a chance. Will you be my safe place?I was rescued by a kind human named Marisa who feeds and cares for feral colonies in Indio. Story
I am a beautiful kitty saved from a terrible life. My previous owners were extremely abusive and didn't take care of me at all. I was so sick I almost died but thankfully the vet was able to save my life but I do not have my eyes anymore. But that doesn't stop me from living my best life! You could never tell I was abused because I love people and playing and especially the cuddles. I cannot wait to give you all the love and happiness when I join your family!

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! VANESSA FISK has had a rough life. We believe someone dumped her in our area. She found herself to our outdoor colony. We found her in our front lawn, attacked by some kind of animal. We rushed her to the vet. She has a huge scar under her fur. You cant see it at all. Meet VANESSA FISK, a beautiful six-year-old DSH Calico mix from Hemet, California, whose essence is gentle resilience wrapped in a striking coat of white, orange, and black. VANESSA FISK is a large, shy, and timid cat who has faced some challenges in her past, but she’s ready to find a loving and patient family who can help her continue to heal and blossom. VANESSA FISK is an independent soul who finds comfort in the quiet companionship of other cats. Having lived peacefully with fellow felines, she would thrive in a home with another calm and understanding cat to keep her company. Her experiences have made her a bit wary of new environments, so she’ll need a pet parent who can offer her the gentle encouragement she needs to feel safe and secure. While Vanessa hasn’t had much experience with dogs or young children, her timid nature suggests that she would do best in a calm, dog-free home where she can gradually build her confidence at her own pace. A quiet environment with adults or older children who can respect her boundaries would be ideal for this sweet girl. Vanessa’s beautiful calico markings are matched by her soft, soulful eyes that tell the story of a cat who’s ready to embrace the kindness and comfort of a loving home. With time, patience, and plenty of love, Vanessa is sure to show her new fa family just how much affection she has to give. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will appreciate your care and offer quiet companionship in return, VANESSA FISK could be the perfect addition to your family. Are you ready to give this shy but loving cat the home she needs? VANESSA FISK is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / CALICO MIX. She is about 6 years and 7 months old and is good with cats. She has never been around dogs or young children. We don't think she will do well with dogs. The vet thinks a coyote or loose dog attacked her. VANESSA FISK is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. TUKTIREY and her 2 siblings (TONOWARI - TSIREYA) were part of a TNR effort in Riverside, California. Our photographer TNRed all the adult cats and rescued kittens. We were asked to help and they went with one of our fosters. TUKTIREY is now ready for her "FUREVER" home. TUKTIREY is now ready for her "FUREVER" home. A calico cat is a domestic cat of any breed with a tri-color coat. The calico cat is most commonly thought of as being 25% to 75% white with large orange and black patches, however, they may have other colors in their patterns. Sometimes a variation occurs with cream and grey patches that is called a muted calico. We did name all the kittens after the new movie Avatar: The Way of Water. Meet TUKTIREY, a shy but sweet two-year-old muted calico from Riverside, California, whose gentle presence is a serene delight wrapped in a beautiful, soft blend of pastel fur. TUKTIREY, with her gentle green eyes and delicate demeanor, is the kind of companion who will quietly steal your heart. Her muted calico coat, a harmonious mix of soft grays, creams, and whispers of orange, reflects her calm and peaceful personality. TUKTIREY may be a bit reserved at first, but beneath that shy exterior lies a tender heart ready to connect. She’s the type of cat who thrives in a quiet, loving environment where she can slowly unfurl her true self. Patience is key with this gentle girl, and once she feels secure, she’ll reward her new pet companion with soft purrs and a loyal presence that can turn any house into a home. While she may start off a little cautious, TUKTIREY enjoys the company of other cats and is more than okay with pets. In fact, she’s at her best when surrounded by feline friends who bring out her playful side. Whether it’s a feather toy or a cozy nap in the sun, TUKTIREY’s gentle playfulness is a joy to behold. She gets along well with other cats, making her an excellent addition to a multi-cat household where she can feel part of a close-knit community. This sweet girl would love a family who appreciates her quiet charm and is willing to give her the time she needs to blossom. TUKTIREY is also comfortable with other pets, making her a versatile companion for a caring household looking to add a touch of tranquility to their lives. Are you ready to offer TUKTIREY the caring environment she needs to shine? This lovely muted calico is waiting for a pet parent who understands the beauty of a gentle heart and is ready to embark on a lifelong journey of quiet companionship and mutual affection. Could TUKTIREY be the sweet, serene presence your home is missing? TUKTIREY is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / MUTED CALICO MIX with the most beautiful yellow eyes. She is about 2 years 1 month old. She is good with cats and non-reactive to dogs. She has never been around children. TUKTIREY is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California.. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Story
This is Gringo. He is a house cat and has been litter-box trained. He has been outside in the past and has come back, but that was a long time ago. Later on, he started refusing to be caught and wouldn't listen when it was time to come in. Since then, he’s been kept indoors with cat towers, toys, and open windows with screens. He is an adult cat. I think he is about 12 years old. He has been neutered. It’s unknown if his shots are up to date. He has been sharing his living space with another cat named Sabrina. She was less than a year old when she was first fostered, and she is now about 3. They've been staying with a good friend of mine for a while, buying time so I could try to find a way to avoid separating them. Nina has spent most of life with Gringo, so keeping the two together is highly preferred. While I want to keep them, I can't have animals where I live currently, and my dad and I are both allergic. I truly hope to find them a good home so they don’t have to end

Story
Xena has a special story, making her way in life, not receiving the care and understanding she needed. She originally belonged to a family with a busy home with children. She was not spayed by the family. She was allowed to go in and out of the house (despite the dangers of outdoor life). Of course, she turned up pregnant and birthed her 4 kittens in the home. When the kittens were 4 weeks old, the family ejected her and 3 of her babies onto the lawn in the middle of summer with no protection, because the babies were still learning to use the litter box, and they didn't want to tolerate this phase. Xena and kittens were fostered together until the kittens were old enough to get spayed and neutered and have all found homes.  Mama Xena is also scheduled to be spayed.  It is now her turn to find a home that will love her unconditionally. We think she's had a hard life, and enjoys the comforts of being in a home receiving love and companionship from people. She shows no interest in returning to a life of running around outside. Xena is a delightful, curious, calm, and affectionate cat. Please complete the link below to be contacted to schedule a meet and greet.   * * * * * Adoption Application here All adoptions include: spay/neuter, FVRCP vaccination (core feline vaccine), rabies vaccination (if old enough), FIV/FeLV test, deworming, microchipping, an initial complimentary veterinary examination at a specified veterinary practice. To help support our mission, we suggest a  donation of: - Kittens  1 year                      $89 - Adult    1 year - 10 years       $75 - Senior 10 years+                    $0 REQUIREMENTS: Unless specifically indicated, INDOOR pets only and NO declawing - all of our cats and kittens use a variety of scratching posts and other scratching devices. Please note, we often get multiple applications for the same cat or kitten. Unless there are over-riding constraints or requirements, e.g., one of a bonded pair, we always give priority to the order in which we receive a completed application (first qualified, first served). ForeverMeow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit cat rescue, registered with the California State Attorney General. ForeverMeow is a certified adoption partner of: Riverside County Department of Animal Services, Petco Foundation, and a Best Friends Network Partner.       Nearly all of our cats & kittens are rescued from Coachella Valley shelters, or to avoid them from entering the shelter. Since 2012, we have rescued over 2,000 cats and kittens.    September 6, 2025, 6:18 pm

Crockett is the most amazing 6 month old kitten! He sustained a spinal injury before coming to us (which we confirmed with X-rays and neurological examination). He is the happiest boy and seems unphased by his challenge even though we express his bladder /colon several times each day:) Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about this very special boy!
