Story
Willow – Gentle Heart . Willow is a truly lovely calico girl with soft, delicate coloring and a quiet, gentle spirit. She has an easy-going affectionate nature that suggests she once knew the comforts of a home—and she isclearly ready to have one again. Willow is approximately 6 years old. Willow adores attention and gentle affection. She has a sweet, peaceful presence that will blossom beautifully in a quiet, loving home. She has been exposed to dogs and other cats, and she does very well with her foster parents’ toddler grandson who is crazy about her! She likes to chase toys, and she also enjoys lounging on a soft bed or windowsill and looking at the birds. Willow has been diagnosed with kidney disease and although she is doing well, she needs to eat Rx food to keep her healthy.  If you’re looking for a gentle soul to share your home with, Willow may be the perfect match! Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Debbie S.)July 22, 2026, 12:16 pm

Story
Meet Marta!  With her beautiful white coat, lovely tabico markings, and the sweetest little face, Marta is a young girl who is just beginning to discover what it feels like to be safe and loved.  She is also becoming a very playful happy cat.  Please see video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/A4GFZua9jbc . Marta’s story began on the streets, where one of our volunteers found her searching for food in a garbage can. It was heartbreaking to see such a gentle soul struggling to survive with no one looking out for her. Now safely in our care, Marta is showing us what a sweetheart she truly is. Although she’s still settling in, she already enjoys gentle affection, has an incredibly soft coat to match her soft personality, and seems to be getting along well with the other cats around her. We’re still getting to know this lovely little lady, and we’ll update her bio as her personality continues to blossom. We have a feeling Marta is going to make one lucky family very happy. All she needs now is someone to give her the love and security she’s been missing for far too long. Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Not ready to adopt?  Please consider fostering:  https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/.   Thank you!  (Foster:  Willow Grove)July 22, 2026, 12:16 pm

Story
Beautiful KayCee was spotted in a local parking lot in March along with 3 kittens approximately 7 weeks old. We were able to trap everyone at our first attempt. The finder had already made some calls and the kittens had a safe place to go once they were caught. Yes, very heartbreaking. Momma cat wasn’t instantly friendly so she didn’t get that offer. While giving time for allowing momma to stop lactating so she would have a more comfortable spay surgery and recovery, momma KayCee’s sweet personality started to show, including the head bumps to the other cats, whether they want them or not. It seems she is so happy to a part of something💜 Kaycee loves to be pet and brushed, but she still does not like to be picked up. KayCee has a small frame, we thought maybe she was a first time momma between 6 -12 months old. She was at a spay clinic for her surgery, as a TNR and they put her as 3 years old. She is also vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for feline aides and leukemia. She is cute as a button and we are hoping a cat lover catches a glimpse of her stunning beauty and offers her a forever home. We do require our adopters to be within an hour drive of Claymont 19703 and have an active or recent vet reference. Check out our YouTube page and you will see her making some biscuits 🩵💜

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Rory! She is an absolutely adorable little kitten who is extremely friendly and affectionate. She loves everybody, and when she's not seeking out attention, she enjoys playing and exploring, especially with her friends. She loves the crinkle tube and chasing after the little balls. She also really enjoys the wand toy! When she's done playing, she snuggles with the older cats on the windowsill. We are told she is about 9 months old, but she only weighs 4 pounds and she acts like a younger kitten. But she will likely just be a tiny perpetual kitten! She's great with cats, dogs and kids. She'll make a great addition to your home! This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $250 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 21, 2026, 12:12 pm

Story
I am moving to Virginia and have exhausted all my options so I unfortunately have to rehome her. Evie is 6 and she is spayed and litter box trained. Evie is timid at first but then very loving and sweet. Perfect for someone who wants a companion more than a high energy cat.
