Story
These two beautiful, sweet girls (Mom and daughter) were living in someone's shed along with 2 other siblings. They were being fed and loved but the people could not afford to get them spayed, so we offered to help. All 4 have now been spayed, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea treated, wormed and tested for v feline leukemia and aids ( both negative). The other 2 have been adopted but Coco and Momma Mary are still available and would love to come home with you! If interested, please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com Thank you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Rory! She is an absolutely adorable little kitten who is extremely friendly and affectionate. She loves everybody, and when she's not seeking out attention, she enjoys playing and exploring, especially with her friends. She loves the crinkle tube and chasing after the little balls. She also really enjoys the wand toy! When she's done playing, she snuggles with the older cats on the windowsill. We are told she is about 9 months old, but she only weighs 4 pounds and she acts like a younger kitten. But she will likely just be a tiny perpetual kitten! She's great with cats, dogs and kids. She'll make a great addition to your home! This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $250 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 13, 2026, 9:10 am

Story
Puss was brought to our home with her brother Boots about 4 years ago in January of 2022. She is very loving, curious, and loves cuddles, pets and lots of attention. She is a great cat! She has no behavioral issues, uses the litter box regularly and is not aggressive. She is just a ball of love. Unfortunately, due to life circumstances I can no longer keep her and want to have the best quality of life as possible. I am looking to rehome her in the next 3 weeks.

Story
Please meet Chrissy!  Chrissy is a petite girl with big energy and has beautiful, silky, medium-length fur with a unique pattern.  She is the smallest of her littermates, but this does not stop her from being in the mix.  She love laser-chasing and playing with her mouse.  Please check out her video:  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cQBIMaYzTkU. Chrissy is quiet  She loves belly rubs, but you will have to approach her.  She loves other kittens playmates.  She observes the adult cats but does not actively play with them yet.  She is social, no hissing. Chrissy and his sibs Jack and Janet - ok, I can hear you singing or humming the Three's Company theme song - are playing with their foster family. Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  (Foster:  Jocelyn S.)August 13, 2026, 9:40 pm

Story
Meet Toast . Toast is a gentle, sensitive girl whose world has been turned upside down. Right now, the busy rescue environment is overwhelming for her, and she's still learning that she's safe. While she may seem shy at first, underneath that cautious exterior is a cat who's simply looking for a place where she can finally relax. Toast would thrive as a barn cat, where she can enjoy the best of both worlds—a safe, secure indoor barn to call home and the freedom to explore the outdoors on her own terms. In return, she'll help keep rodents away while becoming part of your farm, stable, or country property. With patience, kindness, and time, Toast may surprise you. As she learns to trust, she has the potential to become a wonderful companion and could even grow into a loving family cat. If you're looking for a beautiful soul who simply needs a chance to feel safe again, Toast is waiting to find the place where she truly belongs.  Give Toast a home where she can build confidence, enjoy her independence, and discover that people can be trusted again. . Please contact info@forgottencats.org for more information.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Trainer)August 13, 2026, 9:40 pm

Kid- and Cat-Friendly!!!  Please meet Penelope!!!  Penelope aka Momma is the sweetest, young, dilute calico. She just weened her 3 kittens and is looking for her forever home. This girl will melt your heart. She loves attention, is well behaved and is very playful. She loves wand toys and tunnels. She will follow you from room to room. She is good with other cats, submissive not confrontational. She has a happy chirp and a soft meow. This lovely lady deserves a forever home. Penelope has been around all kinds of people.  She is gentle and just a sweet doll. She was introduced to a dog yesterday and was submissive and left the room. She would probably be fine with a dog that is not aggressive. Does Penelope sound like the kitty for you?   Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/. Thank you!  (Foster:  Leslie B.)August 13, 2026, 9:40 pm

ABOUT CHRISTMAS CHILI AND MISS KRAMPUS! Meet Christmas Chili and Miss Krampus, our pretty mamas! These two came to HAP at separate times, both strays with kittens in tow and both upset at being caged. After a few months of medication and socialization and not much progress, we decided to put the two ladies in a room together, as a last ditch effort. They immediately took to each other and have been inseperatable ever since! Now with each others support and comfort, they two have started to enjoy human attention a little more! Christmas Chili is the more outgoing of the two, she enjoys chirping and booping her human friends, once she gets used to them! Miss Krampus is more on the shy side, though she does enjoy playing with her human friends, as long as they keep their distance! *Christmas Chili and Miss Krampus both adore other cats! We don't recommend they go to a home with dogs or children.

ABOUT THE TRIPLETS! Meet the Triplets, our adorable sisters! These sweeties were born in HAP's care, so they've only known the cushiony indoor life! Since returning from their amazing foster, they've been a little nervous, which is understandable; the shelter is a scary place! The Triplets are a little timid with new people, but once they warm up, they enjoy hanging out with their human friends! They love to play and explore, either solo or with another kitty friend! *The Triplets get along with other cats, but we don't recommend super active dogs or young children. *If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

ABOUT THE DUO LITTER! Meet the Double Duos, our adorable set of four! These sweethearts were brought in to HAP as strays. Since they were all too small to be in the shelter, we sent them to one of our amazing fosters! Now they are back and ready to find their forever homes! The Duo Litter are all very sweet and playful, very much your typical kittens! They enjoy playing with each other, by themselves, with other kitties and with their human friends! They also enjoy snuggling and cuddling with whoever is available! *The Duo Litter gets along well with other cats, dogs and children! *If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire!
