Story
Cabby was adopted at about 7 months old from the humane society in Western Pennsylvania. She is very sweet and her birthday is listed as 8.19.2015. She loves people but may take a little to warm up. She is afraid of dogs, but has learned to tolerated our golden retriever for the last 4 years. Within the last 2 years, she has developed some issues and was not using her litter box. We took her to the vet and nothing was found and they recommended we switch to a wet food. We have tried countless different kinds and probiotics. They help, but whenever we leave she usually acts up when we get home and will not use her litter box and sometimes has diarrhea. We have also used plug-ins to help calm her anxiety. They also seem to help, but we are at our wits end and don't want to uthenize her because she IS a good cat, just won't stop using our loft as a toilet. We think she needs more attention than we can give her with our very busy lives and think she would do well without a dog family.

Story
Meet Nya! Nya is the of her litter kitty of her litter mates. She is almost 5 yrs old. She can be very timid at first and takes her time to settle but once she does she is quite active and social when she wants to be. To extremely as she enjoys her independence and space. She is very vocal too depending on the day. She was found on the side of the road with 3 of her litter mates in a box. Barely 4 wks old. Nya is beautiful and so sweet once comfortable with her surroundings. She loves all cats, dogs, and critters of all sizes. Nya is very independent and likes it that way. A home with other pets is preferred. Nya is fully vetted spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Jasmine was adopted from Indy Animal Care in 8/23 , age was about 1yr then. Spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Has had annual check ups and shots since then. The reason for needing a new home is that we acquired a 2nd cat for my adult son about a year later, unfortunately Jasmine has been hostile / aggressive to the other cat, a situation that has not improved. So she definitely need to be in a home with NO other cat. Has not been around dogs. She can be playful but sometimes moody, not wanting to be handled and may scratch. Has not been around children , probably need to be in an adult home due to scratching.Litter box trained, uses a cardboard scratch box, eats "wet" (canned) food due to poor water intake. I have become very attached to Jasmine. She likes to lay on my lap for petting and napping. The other cat is basically a "support" pet for my son, so giving her up is not an option. So Jasmine needs a home where she is free to roam (indoors only) and will be loved.

Story
She is reserved but friendly. She started out as a community cat. She doesn’t like other cats. She had one litter of kittens before getting spayed. We tried keeping her and her kittens for 5 months but she has begun to pee on furniture. She has gotten very fat. I’m guessing she is developing anxiety. I don’t want to just put her back outside because of the other community cats that we feed. But my family and I can’t keep her in the house due to her peeing on the furniture. She does use the litter box most of the time. But my family doesn’t want to try to figure out why she sometimes pees on the furniture. This is increasing in frequency for some reason. She started doing this in January. I feel very bad about surrendering her but my family insists.

She's been showing up at my back door. I think my neighbor has abandoned her. I'm guessing she's about 9 months old. She's been going into heat and I'm worried she will have some unwanted kittens out there. Need someone that can adopt her and get her shots and spayed. I am unable to have a cat here. She is a very sweet and lovable Kitty

Story
Found as a stray and taken in, have had in house since October, but not getting along with resident senior cat, she does get along with some cats. But, our senior cat and her are not. She is a playful cat. She will use a scratching posts and doesn’t scratch furniture. Great cat, just not getting along with the senior cat in the household, very sad not working out and want her to get the best home! She is a little shy meeting strangers and would probably be scared of a dog, at first, but unknown, as has not been around any dogs. Has also never been around small or school age children, so unknown. Has done well with teenagers She allows to be picked up and loves to snuggle occasionally.

Story
Carini is the perfect mix of sweet & sassy! In a foster home with other cats, she’ll play (she loves any kind of ball toy!) and chase around with them, but once she is done, she makes everyone aware with a hiss; a cat sibling would need to be confident and enjoy play. Carini has been with dogs, and while she doesn’t attempt play or cuddles, she doesn’t mind if they are around. She loves napping by a sunny window, lounging on the couch, and getting pets (she loves attention, but doesn’t love to be picked up though). If you think Carini would be a great forever friend for you, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Meet Ginger! This beautiful, easy-going 10-year-old orange tabby is ready to trade shelter life for a cozy forever home. Like many senior kitties, the shelter environment was stressful for her, so she came to Misty Eyes in search of the quiet, loving home she deserves. Ginger is a true “people cat.” She adores gentle head pets, long naps, and simply being near her favorite human. With her front declawing in the past, she’s happiest in a calm environment where she can relax and feel secure. She would prefer to be your one and only feline—after all, a queen like Ginger deserves to be the center of attention! She is currently on an inexpensive thyroid medication, which helps keep her feeling her best, making her a wonderful, low-maintenance companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back friend with just the right touch of diva charm, Ginger may be the perfect match for you.To meet Ginger, please submit an adoption application at: https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
