Story
Hi! I’m Tinga. I was adopted from IACS in February. 6 months later my previous owner tried to return me due to landlord fees. The shelter is already overcapacity and requires appointments. I was about to be dumped outside when one of the workers decided to take me home and try to re home me themselves. At first I was at my house, and then I was put in a box, taken back to the scary shelter, and then taken to a random place that I’ve never been before! I was so confused! I hid under the bed for a whole day. I never showed any signs of aggression I was just scared being in this unfamiliar place. But once I came out I let her know how sweet I was and how much I love pets. Now I cuddle and lay on the bed instead of under. She already has two cats and a dog in a one bedroom apartment with low funds. If her situation was different she would love to have me. I am around a year and a half and have lived with another cat in my previous home. I am playful and so nice :)

Story
we think jody was dumped. we found him 7/28/23 in our yard close to our house. we were told he was approx 12 wks old. he's around a year old now but still looks like a kid. we have four other cats, two other dumped cats and two adopted from a shelter. they are all older than jody and have never bonded with him. we don't get to spend enough quality time with him but he loves to play and eat and sleep. he might do well with a medium sized dog. he would probably do well with other young, male cats because he really just likes to wrestle. unsure about how he would do with children but he might be ok if the children are old enough to understand what cats are like. we feel there are many other homes where he could thrive and be the best jody he can be. the most important thing for him is access to windows with something to sit and lay on while he's looking out of them.

Story
Meowz is a 12 year old female and she has only had one home her whole life. She has primarily been an indoor cat, but she loves spending time outside. She is very little. She is affectionate, mellow, and playful. As she has gotten older, she has more special needs that unfortunately we aren’t able to give her. Some things to note: She is unable to stay home alone during travel that is >24 hours because she now experiences intense separation anxiety which causes her to lose control of her bowels. This has proven difficult for us, and we travel frequently and don’t have family nearby to watch her. She doesn’t typically do well with boarding as it also causes anxiety, so she will need someone to watch her during those times. In general, she uses her littler box pretty well, but it has to be cleaned every day. She is very sweet and I just want her to have a great home where her new family can give her the time and attention she deserves as she ages.

Story
Karen is a very simple cat. She stays to herself and loves having her own spot. She likes being up high on a cat condo and will stay there all day. Karen has been in a house with dogs and cats but I feel she needs something quieter and alone. She has a little bit of extra energy at night for a short period but other than that she is very chill. She likes to make biscuits and sit on you and is will head butt to show her love.

Story
Merlin has a temperament that is high-spirited with affection, craves physical touch, loves to cuddle. He also knows the time to calm down, find a quiet place for himself. He was inherited from my uncle who passed away in October of 2024, as I had an existing kitty I wanted to see if after some time they could get along. My existing cat has proven to require a single pet home, and Merlin does not need the extra stress of an aggressive animal. He gets along well with the other kitty he was inherited with, Mira, who is also listed on this site if you have interest in adopting 2 pets. As Merlin was inherited, I do not have documentation for him. He was adopted from a shelter in Bloomington, IN. Merlin is an incredible companion and deserves a peaceful loving home. He requires no special attention or treatments as he is quite healthy and robust! He is free and an automatic feeder will come with his adoption.

Story
Sunshine is a gorgeous female adult kitty who was originally found as a stray. A wonderful person took Sunshine in and fostered her for Misty Eyes until she was adopted. Unfortunately, the adopter ran into some hard times and had to return Sunshine to us. She really likes people and willingly checks out visitors to her home. She is a girl who likes her personal space at times, and doesn`t hesitate to let you know when she wants to be left alone. For that reason, she would do best in a home with older children who can understand her signals. She is not fond of other animals -- she wants all the love and attention for herself -- so will need to be an only furkid. She has great house manners and can be a cuddle-cat when she`s in the mood! If you`d like to meet Sunshine, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Hope couldn`t decide whether to be a calico cat or a tiger kitty! She was surrendered to Misty Eyes due to her owner`s allergies. She is a friendly, playful girl who will make a great companion. She has good litterbox manners, is playful and enjoys a cat tree with a scratching post. She is living with other cats in her foster home, but would be happiest as the ONLY KITTY! She doesn`t `show` well initially because she gets very stressed in new places. After about 24 hours, though, she is friendly and affectionate -- on her terms. She is not a lap kitty and doesn`t enjoy being held, but she may lay beside her person and enjoy a chin scratch or two. If you`d like to know more about Hope, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Juju was surrendered to Misty Eyes after her owner passed away, and the family would not care for her. She is not a lap cat, but is nighttime snuggler. She does take some time to get used to new people and surroundings. She will pick a safe place where she can go when she feels insecure. She would prefer to be the only cat in the home and, with patience, is a sweet, loving companion. She has great litterbox habits, uses her scratching post rather than the furniture and enjoys a cat tree near a window. Juju does take daily thyroid medication, which is relatively inexpensive. If you`d like to know more about Juju, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
