Story
Jacob is a loving and curious cat who loves to snuggle with anyone who will let him. He's about 2 years old, and we've had him since he was about 3 months old. He's an indoor cat and is litter box trained, but he also doesn't mind going outside (we sometimes take him on walks in a harness and leash). He has three legs because of an accident that led to him needing his right arm surgically amputated in the fall of 2024, but you would never be able to tell because he has adapted to the change quite well (he can run, jump, climb stairs, etc - he needs no special care at all). We have small kids in the house, and he has been around many dogs before, all with no issues. The only reason we are looking to rehome him is because I recently changed jobs and we can no longer justify the cost of keeping him in our home (food, litter, annual vet visits, etc).

Story
We are looking to rehome our cat Tonks. We found her in 2018 as a kitten. A few years after adopting her, one of our kids develped severe cat allegies. She currently lives in one room in our house and we'd love her to go somewhere she can have a better life for that reason. She's shy with new people but once she warms up she's friendly, sleeps on the bed with my daughter, loves pets and has a loud purr. She uses the litter box well and is easy going. She does not particularly like other cats or dogs but if they leave her alone she's fine. She currently lives peacefully in a house with two dogs. We really want her to find a family to love on her!

Story
Salem is a very sweet and very lovey cat. She is not a fan of being picked up or crated, but loves attention and playing. She isn’t spaded and has a tendency to pee on fabrics left on the floor unattended. She comes with her favorite blanket to make biscuits on and her favorite little toys. She is almost 3 years old and is still growing, though she is a naturally small cat. I think she deserves a nice spacious home where she can explore and an opportunity to build her social skills. It can be difficult to hold her or place her in a crate, and she is not a fan of vets but ultimately calms down after some time.

Story
Cleo is a sweet stray cat caring for three young kittens. She is such a good mom that she took in an abandoned kitten that wasn't hers! Now, Cleo is the leader of their little troupe, which includes her own two kittens as well. Often overshadowed by the three babies she takes care of, Cleo is such a gem of a cat! She is long and lanky and absolutely gorgeous. She is often found sitting on our back steps, patiently waiting for her next meal. If we don't respond fast enough, she likes to jump up onto the banister so she can speak to us at our eye level! In fact, she's a natural climber: whenever we find muddy paw prints on our car's hood, we know Cleo has been around. Cleo has sacrificed a lot for her kittens, but she deserves a safe and loving home, too! If we didn't have too many cats as it is, we would adopt Cleo in an instant! She is a very easygoing girl who has endless patience for her kittens' antics, though I'm certain she would enjoy being a solo cat, too.

Story
Turq is the perfect emotional support cat if you want a dog but can’t have one. He looks like a tough guy, but is a big softie with a heart of gold. He’s a 4 year old chonk of a cat with the strut of a bulldog & growls like a dog when he hears anyone outside (growls then runs away). Once he warms up to you, he loves to be held, squeaks when he meows and is a purr machine. He could spend all day curled up on your lap, behind your knees, or crushing ribs when he lays on your chest. I’ve really come to love this big guy, but I have 3 other cats and he and the other male have become very aggressive with each other, but he gets along well with the females. He would make an amazing companion animal and might do best in a quiet home with no small children where he’s either the only cat or the alpha and can receive all the love and attention he craves. He’s available to a good home with a very small rehoming fee just to ensure he’s valued (as he should be).

Story
I adopted Ruby when she was only 6 weeks old from the humane society. She is so shy and will keep to herself. We’ve had her for 5 years and my oldest is allergic we’ve managed her allergies but it’s gotten to the point where my daughter is doubling up on medicine and still not feeling her best. We are busy and believe Ruby needs a quieter environment and extra love. She comes with her fancy rotating litter box and we know she deserves better. She wants to be lovable but loud noises or any sudden movement makes her skittish. She has always been like this. But she is a relaxer she loves to hang out and chill. She will tell you if her food is low or needs more water. She wants to be petted on her terms but most of the time she is perfectly content just stretchy nearby.

Sugar was found as a stray with her five kittens and was brought to Misty Eyes to find their forever homes. She`s a pretty girl with an independent nature and good litterbox habits. She will approach, on her terms, for pets and affection. If you are looking for a companion kitty who is not an attention seeker, Sugar is your girl. Story
Let us introduce you to Zenith, a beautiful grey cat whose journey has been filled with challenges and resilience. After being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter, she faced a difficult transition, especially since she was pregnant—something that could have been prevented with spaying! However, Zenith is a testament to strength; she has lovingly weaned her kittens and is now ready to find her forever home. Initially shy and a bit scared due to her recent changes, Zenith has been blossoming into a friendly companion as she learns to trust again. We believe that with a little patience and love, she will thrive in a nurturing environment. If you feel a connection with her story and would like to learn more or consider adopting, please visit our website to submit an adoption application at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
