Mama Tao is a gorgeous and petite dilute calico female. She was found as a pregnant stray on the streets of Nashville, but acts like she’s been indoors her whole life. She enjoys looking out the window, scratching her cardboard scratching post, and lounging near people in gorgeous poses. Mama Tao is estimated to be 1-2 years old and still loves being picked up and carried around like a baby. She hasn’t figured out playing yet, though. She is litter trained and gets along with other cats and kids; she tolerates our dogs, but isn’t the biggest fan. If she joins a family with cats, she will tend towards being dominant. Mama Tao is the most beautiful and sweet addition to a family and can’t wait to join yours.October 26, 2026, 3:28 pm

Bernard came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, and immediately decided that he loves human companionship. He’s picky about how he wants to be pet, and will gently tell you if you’re doing it “incorrectly,” and because of this we think a home with no young kids is best. His perfect day consists of following you around with big rumbly purrs, and sitting next to you wherever you settle in.   And that cute floppy ear? He has a previous history of ear infections, so he likely has this signature flop forever. He might be prone to ear infections in the future, but he’s been happily in the clear for a while now! Bernard is okay with other cats, but will give you the saddest face in the world if you’re petting someone more than him, and we think he’d be his Best Self as a solo guy.   Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. October 5, 2026, 12:22 am

Meet Moo Moo! Moo Moo is a stunning, sassy little queen who knows exactly what she wants — and she’s not afraid to let you know! She would like a larger space to roam and play, such as access to outdor spaces, or working cat placement in a barn or similar area. She’s definitely a “look, don’t touch” kind of girl right now, and if you try to pet her before she’s ready, you may get a little paw whack as a gentle reminder that she’s in charge! Moo Moo takes her time deciding who gets to be part of her tribe, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll get to see her playful and affectionate side. She loves wand toys, enjoys a good game, and may reward a successful play session with adorable bunts and rubbing all over you — because, of course, she is the one doing the petting! Moo Moo may make you work for her affection, but that’s what makes earning her trust so special! If you’re looking for a beautiful, independent queen with plenty of personality, a playful spirit, and just the right amount of sass, Moo Moo may be the perfect lady to rule your castle!

Mia is a lovely calm girl! She very much enjoys sitting in the window and watching the world go by or snuggling up for a nice long nap in her cat house. This two-year-old seems to really enjoy a quiet, peaceful environment and likes to look at her humans, rather than get pets from them. During Mia`s time at the shelter, she has started to warm up to people and we are starting to see her real personality. While not a social butterfly by any means, she does enjoy lounging in the window and having snacks with her friends. Mia will need a home where she can start off as an only cat and have some time to decompress and warm up to her new surroundings.
