Story
Lola is a gorgeous senior calico that came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation. She is a very shy girl, borderline spirit cat (a rarely seen kitty companion), but she has been coming out of her shell with us over time and we think she will thrive in a quiet home, perhaps with a friendly kitty or two to show her that humans are just weird looking besties. No kids or dogs please, big noises are a little too new and scary for our gentle girl.  Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. June 12, 2026, 12:21 am

Story
Hi! We're Olivia and Penny. We are a couple of affectionate gal pals who have been raising our kittens together. Now that our work of co-parenting is complete, we are ready to settle into a nice home together and start the next chapter of our lives: being the best pair of house cats you can imagine. A bit about us: Olivia, stunning 2 yeard old calico with beautiful golden green eyes. Loves sitting aloft in my cat tree, paper bags, laser pointers, and head scritches. Penny, a mustachioed glamor 1 year old tuxedo. Loves a fresh breeze and bird watching, wand toys, cardboard boxes, and purring as loud as possible. We both love to be pet, to sit on your lap, and are comfortable being held. We are good with kids, but Olivia can occasionally get overstimulated from too much petting so any young humans will need to learn how to take it slow and recognize her cues that she needs a break. If you have room in your heart and home for 2 dedicated, loving companions, you couldn't do any better than us. (The adoption fee is for both of us)

Story
I found TeeTee abandoned in Missouri living under a shed as a kitten in 2021. She lived with me and my family (2 kids through infancy) for 5 years in Missouri and was an indoor/outdoor cat. She likes spending time outdoors, especially at night, and is cuddly when inside. We recently moved to the city of Boston for my job, and while she has a rooftop, she does not have any ability to roam outside. Her demeanor has noticeably changed and I fear she is unhappy with our new situation. Looking to rehome her to a family with lots of outdoor space for her to roam

Story
She is a sweet loving cat, original rescued from a family member who passed I can no longer care for her due to the fact I’m moving. She prefers to be the only cat in the household. She is roughly 4-5 her actual age is unknown. She loves to cuddle and be let under the blanket at night. She’s okay being left at home while working, she loves her own space and will come to you when she wants extra attention.

Story
Meet Moo Moo! Moo Moo is more of a `look, don`t touch` kind of girl- which is totally fine becuase she is as stunning as she is sassy! Moo Moo loves wand toys, and loves to play! She`s been known to reward a play session with bunts and petting herself on you- but she makes it very clear she`s the one to do the petting! She also enjoys a good snack, and will remind you it`s meal time with super cute chirps. If you`re looking for a new queen for your castle, Moo Moo just might be the lady for you!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We`d like to introduce a very special cat named Mia. She is a 2 year old cat, and has a discordant case of FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus which may shorten her lifespan, and we are hoping to find her a loving indoor-only home where she can live out her life. Despite her diagnosis, she is social and affectionate with those she knows. Mia would need to be the only cat in the household. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption. More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934

Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bernard came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, and immediately decided that he loves human companionship. He’s picky about how he wants to be pet, and will gently tell you if you’re doing it “incorrectly,” and because of this we think a home with no young kids is best. His perfect day consists of following you around with big rumbly purrs, and sitting next to you wherever you settle in.   And that cute floppy ear? He has a previous history of ear infections, so he likely has this signature flop forever. He might be prone to ear infections in the future, but he’s been happily in the clear for a while now! Bernard is okay with other cats, but will give you the saddest face in the world if you’re petting someone more than him, and we think he’d be his Best Self as a solo guy.
