Story
My name is Ivy! I am a very unique kitten in that I have cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), also known as wobbly cat syndrome. It causes my head to shake and for me to be off balance when I walk. They also think I might have some kind of hip issues, but that would need to be checked out by your vet (I prefer to be picked up under my front legs and not around the back). Even though my CH isn't painful, I do need a home where I have lower cat trees and places to play because of the risk of falling.I'm also not the biggest fan of being picked up, so I won't be your typical lap cat. While you can pick me up and sit with me in your lap for short periods at a time, I really just prefer to play with another cat or kitten in the household. However, with time, I may grow out of this. I love softer kitty toys like mousies and kickers. I am a very happy kitten, but need to be in a household that's quieter. I wouldn't do good with younger kids because I get startled very easily (especially with the monster known as the vacuum). I prefer another home with a playmate as I'm used to foster siblings in my current home.I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.

Story
Kiki, is very loving, but shy when meeting new people. Once she gets to know them and they stay gentle with her she warms up. I live with my daughter who has had her cats longer and they are older and less tolerant. Kiki is about 4 yrs old now and they will attack her whenever given the chance. She is confined to upstairs during the day and my bedroom at night. The confinement is wearing on her and me. She really needs the space to play and let go in a bigger space, without fear. She is non aggressive and will hide if shown aggression. So if around kids as long as they are gentle, she is contented to just watch them. She is also food oriented. Everything that I have bought for her comes with, litter box, kennel etc.. She has not had a vet check up since getting fixed, but has been healthy since. She was a wild kitten that I fed her outside until she was 1 year old, Then I moved in with my daughter and took her with me. Unfortunately that’s what led up to re-homing her.

Story
This sweet girl was sadly left behind when our neighbors moved away, but she hasn’t lost her love for people. She’s been visiting our backyard regularly, and we’ve been feeding and caring for her. She is incredibly friendly with humans and clearly enjoys attention, affection, and companionship. She’s a gentle, loving cat who thrives on human interaction and would make a wonderful cuddle buddy. While she’s very comfortable with people, she is a bit timid around other cats, so she would do best as the only cat or in a calm, patient home. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just wants to be loved, she could be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Affectionate Lap Cat Looking for a Quiet "Forever" Lap. I am looking for a loving new home for my sweet adult female cat. Due to life circumstances, daughter moving to London, we are unable to care for her, and she deserves a home where she can get all the attention she craves. Her Personality: She is the ultimate affectionate companion. If you are looking for a best friend, this is her. She absolutely loves to be brushed every day—it is her favorite bonding activity. She is a true lap cat and will happily sleep on your chest if you let her. She also has a fun side and gets a little playful with her paws when she’s happy. Her Ideal Home: She is a 'people cat' through and through. Because she is very afraid of dogs and does not get along with other cats, she must be the only pet in the home. She would thrive in a calm environment where she can be the Queen of the castle and soak up all your love.

Lizzie is an affectionate cat. She is 4 years old and loves looking out of a window to watch the birds on my balcony. I can no longer afford Lizzie. She is not a big fan of dogs, she usually goes and hide while a dog is around.

Story
Harley is a 7-year-old cat with a bold personality who will thrive best in the right home. In both the shelter and her previous home, Harley has shown that she prefers a calm, predictable environment and does best with experienced, patient adopters who understand feline boundaries.Harley would be happiest in a quiet, low-traffic home with few visitors. She can be uncomfortable with new people at first and will need time and patience to acclimate at her own pace. Because of this, Harley is best suited for an adult-only home, or at minimum a home without young children. In her previous home, Harley did not do well with dogs or other female cats. For her comfort and success, she is recommended as the only pet in the home (or minimally, no dogs or female cats).Harley can become easily overstimulated with too much petting or frequent hands-on interaction. Adopters should keep petting sessions short and minimal, offering plenty of breaks and watching for signs that she’s had enough. Instead of constant physical affection, Harley responds best to play-based interactions, such as cat wand toys and enrichment feeders, which help her engage in a way that feels safe and fun for her.One sure way to Harley’s heart? Churu treats. With patience, respect for her boundaries, and the right environment, Harley can be a rewarding companion for someone who appreciates a cat with opinions and personality.
