Story
***Cane Corso or similar breed experience will only be considered*** Grace Age: 3-4 years old Breed: Cane Corso Size- Large – 80-95+ lbs Dogs: YesCats: NoKids: No At 4 years young Grace has had a very rough start in life. Found dumped in a park with a harness embedded in her and two torn ACL’s, we can’t blame you Graceson for not liking most people. This beautiful girl loves to love, if you are in her circle you are in!! As if she didn’t already draw the short straw in life, Grace has some neurological issues. Her brain (more specifically cerebellum) isn’t fully grown and never will be, so please excuse her goofy gallop and gait walk. That doesn’t stop Grace from being the happy go lucky free spirit she is! Don’t worry her friends at MHS along with her medical team are keeping a close eye on her and though she may look like she’s struggling, Grace is living her best life and not in any pain! Grace is available for adoption at the Meriden Humane Society. If interested in fostering or adopting, please fill out an application! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 5.5 year old Cane Corso/Mastiff mixed dog. He is about 70 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. He would also be good for a family where the man works out of town and he wants to know his kids and wife feel safe with a dog watching the scene. He is healthy and getting vaccines. He is neutered and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Tank This sweet, big baby wandered up to a house a couple months back, skin and bones, horrible skin, just in very bad shape all around. Thankfully, some kind folks agreed to foster him and he is doing much better now, although he still has some healing to do. He appears to be middle aged- maybe 5 or so. He is very friendly and sweet natured. He does well with other dogs, but is not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is house trained and Crate trained and is a very smart boy, learning new concepts with ease. We believe he may be a Cane Corso mix and he weighs about 65-70 pounds. We have had him neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations. He was heartworm negative and has been placed on monthly prevention. This sweet guy needs a home to rest and continue healing. He is so affectionate and kind hearted, with an incredibly sweet spirit and endless amounts of love, despite what he's been through. Can anyone out there offer him the loving home that he so desperately wants and deserves? Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
If you are a big dog lover, look no further than Hops! Absolutely stunning! Happy, eager, gentle, loving, and definitely a couch lover! At 100 lbs., Hops really sees himself as a lap dog-that might be a stretch! What would be the best home for 4 year old Hops? One where he gets lots of his favorite walks, a home with lots of toys with food in them (a favorite), many comfy beds or couches, and someone who is home much of the time. He would do well with teens and adults. Breed experience is helpful with understanding some of his sensitivities-Who IS that big dog in the mirror and Why does the floor need to be vacuumed?? Coming to a positive training class is also a plus! We can help with that-we offer positive training classes to help bond and teach at the same time! He is smart and would love that to be part of his life! To learn more about this handsome boy, please call Our Companions Animal Rescue at 860-242-9999 or e-mail to Helpline@ourcompanions.org.

Story
See my video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JL3qXZ6p6Kc Meet Lexy, a 10-year-old Cane Corso with the heart and spirit of a puppy! Despite her age, Lexy is full of energy and loves to play. Her zest for life is infectious, and she's sure to bring a lot of joy and fun into your home. Lexy is a people-loving pup who has never met a stranger. She's always ready to make new friends and will happily soak up all the attention you can give her. While she's great with people, Lexy prefers to be the only dog in the house. She's not used to being around other dogs and feels a bit unsure around them, although she's perfectly fine walking past them on her daily strolls. Lexy isn't a good fit for a home with cats or small animals, but she has lived with kids and done wonderfully. She's a great companion for children aged 10 and up, ready to join in on their adventures and provide endless loyalty and love. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate dog who's ready to fill your days with joy, Lexy might be the perfect match. Story
SASHA is a fantastic dog who is being cared for by one of our trusted rescue partners. SASHA is NOT a Woof River dog. To apply for SASHA please download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to John jhayesp@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SASHA is a triple threat: beautiful, kind, and fun! She is welcoming to everyone she meets. She’ll wag her whole body, smiling from ear to ear, tracking every move for the perfect opportunity to steal some affection. It’s impossible to resist her charm when she looks at you with her sweet, smushy face and gives you kisses. Kick back to read a book and soon you’ll feel SASHA curled up on top of your feet, keeping them toasty warm. SASHA is also quite the social butterfly! She is the kind of dog you can take anywhere because she is always friendly and happy to see everyone. SASHA is totally potty trained and a perfect car passenger. She also very much enjoys playing with toys and romping around the backyard with her friends. She is great with both dogs and cats. SASHA is a hopeless romantic who will adore you unconditionally for a lifetime. If you are lucky enough to have SASHA join your family you will be blessed beyond belief! Her $540 adoption fee covers her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. For an adoption application on SASHA click here Please email the completed application to jhayesp@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. Like all of Woof River's dogs, SASHA will be beginning her journey in Memphis, Tennessee where she will remain until adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Thank you for choosing rescue!!

Name: JasperAge: Under 2Breed: Anatolian Shepherd MixDogs: YesCats: TBDKids: Over 5Our buddy Jasper is ready to find his forever home! Jasper was found roaming and kept safe by a good Samaritan until our neighbors at animal control could get there to help. His owners never came forward to claim Jasper, and he's now with MHS and we couldn't be more thrilled! This big guy is incredibly sweet and loves everyone who crosses his path! This is one handsome pup, Jasper gets stopped everywhere he goes and gets complimented about how handsome he is, just check out those baby blues!Jasper is a free spirit, who loves his walks, car rides, chasing the occasional butterfly, playing with his toys, occasionally forgets his size and thinks he's a lapdog, and is just an all around goofy, sweet pup!Jasper is very well behaved, likes other dogs, is good with kids, but due to his size, we are saying over 5 because he is still a bit of a puppy so can get a little overly excited when playing, but who can blame the guy.Jasper is UTD on his vaccinations, neutered, and micro-chipped.If you think you are Jasper's forever family, please fill out an application today! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27
