***Cane Corso or Similar Breed Experience Required*** Name: Mama (fka Hannah 2)Breed: Cane CorsoAge: 2 years oldKids: Over 12Cats: TBDDogs: SelectiveMeet the lady of the hour, the mama of our Corso Crew. Mama joined the MHS family shortly after her puppies were surrendered to us and is ready for her forever home! This beautiful big girl, weighing in at 105 pounds, is as strong as she is sweet and absolutely loves her people! Mama walks wonderful on a leash, knows all her basic commands, and is as loyal as they come! This lady loves people, but in typical Corso style will look to her people to be sure that new friends are okay. Mama is super smart but also has the total goofball personality, so we are saying kids over 12, because Mama loves to play and jump on her people when excited. Two of Mama's favorite things are rolling over for belly rubs and her stuffed animal toys! We are requiring a home with prior Cane Corso or similar breed experience.Mama is UTD on her vaccinations, is microchipped and spayed. If you are interested in Mama, please fill out an application today!Note, Mama is only available for adoption to CT residents. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
This tender, juicy little (though not small for long!) tidbit is Mister Porkchop, an eleven-week-old Cane Corso mix. Looking for a family that will help him learn everything in “The Dog’s Guide to Success” as he matures and grows into his paws, he is intelligent, motivated, and eager to please. He is also ‘all puppy’, full of mischief, fun, games, and sloppy kisses…in other words, perfection! Sweet-natured, loyal, and affectionate, he has an overall calm demeanor and gentle giant spirit, making him the perfect one to cuddle up with these cold winter nights. If you’re looking to make a big change in 2026, start the New Year off with Mister Porkchop by your side! *Mister Porkchop is not yet fully grown or housebroken*

Story
Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 5.5 year old Cane Corso/Mastiff mixed dog. He is about 70 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. He would also be good for a family where the man works out of town and he wants to know his kids and wife feel safe with a dog watching the scene. He is healthy and getting vaccines. He is neutered and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Welcome Jacks to CCPAL Rescue. Jacks is an 11-month-old Cane Corso/Australian Heeler. He is very affectionate, knows sit, loves water and can open a fence latch. He is a smart boy. He really is attentive and has had a wonderful foster before entering the shelter. He is wonderful at sitting when you ask him to sit. A carabiner is adequate to block him from flipping the latch of the gate open. This is what we use to secure the gate of his kennel. We don’t think he is the type that wants to run away. He is smart and bored in his kennel is all. He is a great dog and we think he would be a great hiker, walker and companion dog for an outdoor enthusiast. He loves all people and doesn’t seem at all bothered by strangers. He is friendly to everyone. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 and older due to his size. He weighs about 60 pounds and looks to be a good weight. He has a beautiful blocky head and with the harness on he was relatively easy to walk. We are looking for a moderately active family for this dog. We think he is very handsome and is going to appeal to men because of his beautiful head and athletic build. He is neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Story
Nala's Story Introducing Nala – A Courageous and Affectionate Girl Nala was rescued from a heartbreaking situation alongside her mother and siblings, and she is now seeking a patient, experienced adopter to support her healing and growth journey. Her enthusiasm for life makes everyone around her feel cherished. When she’s not racing around in the yard, she loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch. At 2 years old, Nala has spent nearly a year at Almost Home and has recently transitioned to a foster home with her brother, Blue. She is progressing well with housebreaking and obedience training, is crate trained, and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. Nala enjoys playing with Blue, chewing on bones, and snuggling on the couch. While she can be timid around new experiences, people, and sounds—especially her nemesis, the vacuum—she will warm up to you given time. Once you earn her trust, she will be a devoted companion for life. What Nala Needs: • A calm, stable home where she can feel secure and relaxed • An adopter dedicated to positive reinforcement training • A home without children • A fenced-in yard (6 feet or taller) Nala is full of potential and deserves a second chance with someone who understands that love, patience, and consistency are essential for her to thrive.
