Story
*UTD/MICROCHIPPED/ ON MONTHLY FLEA AND TICK AND HEARTWORM PILL/SPAYED *good with cats *no kids under 12 ( she is very fast when she runs) *non- reactive dogs are best to pair her with *loves chew toys and tennis balls!! On Feb 08, 2024, Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control officer, reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! We have dog tested Beauty at our dog trainers place in Athens, TN and found out that she is good with non-reactive dogs ( we have been pairing her up with non- reactive dogs at our rescue for play) .She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy, young kids could unknowingly get in her way. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout! Her most favorite toy is a tennis ball! if you have two, that would be great or else you WILL go through ALOT of them because she will chew them up right away! We are teaching her to bring it and leave it and wait for us to toss her second ball. sometimes, we will work with her on just one ball....but that is a lot more work vs having a second one ready haha! We do believe she is house broken as she has not made any messes in our home or the dog building. **We do offer foster to adopt to do a trail run** ( PLEASE ASK US FOR MORE INFORMATION AS WE TAILOR TO YOUR NEEDS/ REQUESTS AS NEEDED, THE BEST WE CAN) If you have any questions, please feel free to get ahold of us through here, or through our website at www.woofwooffosters.org . Thank you, woofwoof fosters -team This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
*CANE CORSO OR MASTIFF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!* Meet our gorgeous Cane Corso girl named Carina! She is about 2 years old and she came to our shelter after she was found roaming in town. Carina is a very sweet dog who absolutely loves getting attention from people! She is a very playful girl who loves to chase around squeaky toys. She can get a little jumpy when she is excited for toys, but she takes correction well. Carina loves a good butt scratch and she will sit for a cookie. She is a giant lovebug who just wants to cuddle up with her human buddies. Carina is a large girl, currently weighing about 87 lbs. We are preferring applicants who have Cane Corso or other mastiff type breed experience. Carina seems fine with other dogs and she can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Carina Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOU EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanize. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Vader is a gentle giant, older at 8 years he’s great with other dogs and just the most gentle sweet boy. He’s heart worm positive which would need to be treated before he could go to a forever home, this takes about 2 months but there is no extra charge for this. He’s big, black, older and heart worm positive, the odds are stacked against him, but to loose this sweet soul would be awful. Adopt him?

Story
Go big or go home is the MO for our boy Dug. Dug is a 2-year-old Cane Corso Mastiff at the hefty weight of 90 pounds. Along with his large size, Dug has a large heart with a large capacity to love. Dug came into rescue under unfortunate circumstances as he was found as a stray and injured. Luckily, he received the medical care that he needed and is now on the mend. We do know that he is a very friendly boy with lots of charm. He has not been introduced to cats or children since coming into rescue. What we do see is lots of potential for Dug to be an awesome canine companion. Now fully recovered, Dug would love to have the typical family life of a well loved and cared for canine. He envisions himself in countless scenarios of days basking in the sun, running around in the back yard and lots of cuddles on the sofa. Being with his family is super important to him. Dug has a medium energy level and will do well with a fairly active family. Regular exercise, continued training, and socialization will be the winning combination for Dug to have the ideal life.Dug is working on his house and leash training. He is putting in the effort and will look to his family to help him along the way. He has already mastered his crate training. Bring home the love of Dug for a lifetime of love and happiness that only Dug can offer. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Dug is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.February 18, 2026, 5:23 am

Story
Big dog lovers, where you at?! If blocky heads, squishy faces, and irresistible wrinkles are your weakness, Rodney Roo is about to steal your whole heart. This handsome fella is rocking a perfectly blocky noggin, the best forehead wrinkles in the game, and the kind of sweet, soulful face that makes you melt on sight. He’s the definition of a gentle giant, bold in size, soft in expression, and impossible to ignore. Rodney isn’t just a big dog… he’s a statement piece with a heart to match. Watch his video and fall in love with this handsome gentle giant: https://youtu.be/pIn4c7o3TrQ?si=aT9Sdw6M97s3Vy_i Rodney Roo is a Cane Corso mix approximately 4 years old and is on a weight gain journey. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. But based off looks along, this boy definitely has Cane Corso mixed in there somewhere. We also believe that once his gets to his healthy ideal weight, we believe he will reach a weight range close to 100lbs. So big dog lovers, where you at?! Rodney is dog friendly and did great meeting all of the dogs we introduced him too. His gentle natured personality even shows itself when meeting new dogs. He'll do a little sniff, say hello and then he's off doing his own thing, finding a spot to lay in the grass and bask in the sun, or off exploring in the yard. Rodney has met a handful of dogs, all with different personalities and has even been with some wild younger playful dogs and was tolerant of their youthfulness as well. He is not a playful guy with other dogs, he gives off more of the laid back, distinguished gentleman, hang back and watch type vibes around other dogs. Yes, he is dog friendly but wanna know what would make Rodney the happiest? Being your one and only fur baby in the home to soak up all the love and companionship. That truly is what is going to make him the happiest. When it comes to training, say no more! This handsome fella is ready to learn! It also helps that food is one of Rodney's love languages. He's incredibly treat motivated, and the moment he knows you've got a snack, his full attention is locked on you and he's ready to learn! This makes him a dream to train. He already knows how to sit and shake, and honestly....the shake might be his signature move. He offers his paw so enthusiastically and so often it's impossible not to smile. His shake is easily one of the cutest things about him. This gentle giant will thrive in a home that appreciates both his size and his laid-back lifestyle. While he’s a big boy, he’s refreshingly low energy and happiest having space to stretch out, lounge, and enjoy life at a relaxed pace. A home with a securely fenced backyard is ideal so he can take leisurely strolls, sniff around, and enjoy some fresh air without feeling confined. He’s best suited for a family or individual who understands large breeds and can offer him a structured environment with plenty of room both indoors and out. After a little outdoor time, he’s perfectly content to head back inside and settle in for some quality rest and relaxation by your side. Rodney is looking for a home that will continue supporting him through his weight gain journey, spoil him with treats, and appreciate a loyal companion who will gladly offer his paw (over and over again) in exchange for affection. We are willing to test Rodney Roo with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
