Story
Meet Tessa! At just 1½ years old, Tessa is a stunning 90-pound Cane Corso with a story that reminds us not to judge a book by its cover. When she was found as a stray in Roseville, she wasn't acting tough—she was terrified. Animal Control officers spent time earning her trust as she stayed in full flight mode, frightened and unsure of the people trying to help her. Sadly, no one ever came looking for her during her stray hold. Once the shelter environment became familiar, Tessa slowly let her walls come down and revealed the gentle, sensitive soul that had been hiding beneath her intimidating appearance. She may be hesitant when meeting new people, but patience and kindness are rewarded tenfold. Once you become part of her circle, Tessa's loyalty and affection know no bounds, and she'll happily become your devoted best friend. Tessa has done well with other dogs that are similar in size and can appreciate her playful energy. She has not yet had the opportunity to meet cats, so any feline introductions would need to be handled thoughtfully. Although she may look like a powerful guardian, she's really more like an elephant who's afraid of a mouse—a big, goofy puppy at heart who is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Because of her size, youthful enthusiasm, and sensitive nature, Tessa would thrive in a mature home that understands large guardian breeds and is willing to continue building her confidence. A securely fenced physical yard will be required to keep her safe, and regular leash walks will help her continue gaining confidence while strengthening her bond with her family. She has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and is making great progress with crate training. Tessa isn't looking for perfection—she's looking for patience, understanding, and a family willing to see the loving dog behind the fearful first impression. In return, she'll offer unconditional loyalty, a gentle heart, and a lifetime of companionship. If you're ready to help this misunderstood girl write the happy ending she deserves, Tessa is waiting to love you furever Tessa is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for spay and entropion surgeryADOPTION FEE: $300 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2802612##

Story
Max is updated on shots, neutered, loved kids, love being petted. He has a smaller dog in the house and plays with her and has never hurt her. However, the smaller dog will whimper and cry, he told to go to place. He’s a gentle giant . The kids has pulled his tail, sat on him back, pulled his legs and he has never hurt them at all. The kids ages are 5 years and 6 years old.. He will bark when he hears something outside and will bark if someone is coming to the house . He has been introduced to strangers and once he smells their hand, he’s fine. He will allow the stranger that he didn’t know to pet him. I selected a place in my house that I call Place and will say to him to go to Place. He will stay for awhile but if I get up and move, he will follow me wherever I go including the bathroom (he tried but I don’t allow him to come in)… He tried playing with my 5 lbs Maltese but she growls at him and shows her little teeth and when he tried playing with her, she whimper and cry

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Bruno: A Sensitive Giant with a Huge Heart! Bruno is a gorgeous Cane Corso who is just as smart as he is sweet. A true gentle giant, he is an incredibly intelligent, sensitive, and goofy boy who lives for three simple things: delicious food, playful energy, and—most importantly—cuddles (and then maybe some more cuddles). While he is a big boy, he has a tender soul. Bruno doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, but he can get startled easily and his first instinct is to run and hide when scared. Because of this, he needs a confident, patient handler who can show him the world is a safe place. He is an incredibly fast learner who thrives on positive reinforcement and clear, loving structure. If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate shadow who will make you laugh daily, Bruno is your guy!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. September 3, 2026, 8:16 am
