Story
Meet Bronson- the 3.5yr Corso! Bronson is a very energetic and happy boy. He is always down for a game of fetch or tug and he loves going for walks! He is a very sweet boy and loves meeting new friends- both human and doggy. He does very well with other medium and large breed dogs and would love to have a playmate! Bronson is looking for a home with a fenced backyard with no small children or dogs. He also needs a family who will meet his exercise needs daily. Cane Corso's are known to be quite stubborn, and Bronson is no exception. Bronson is by NO means aggressive; however, he does need an experienced adopter who is willing to keep up on his training. He is a very intelligent boy, and just needs a family who will enforce boundaries with him. He is crate trained, house trained and knows basic commands. He does tend to forget how big he is and can also get very over excited at times. This can lead to him jumping up on people (playfully) or to him plowing people over. Because of this, he needs a family with no children under 13 or small breed dogs. He has been working very hard on these things while in our care and has already made tremendous progress. We have no doubt that with time, he will do well in these areas. Bronson is neutered, up to date on vet care, HW- and microchipped. Does Bronson sound like a good fit for your family? Story
Good With Kids: Yes, 8 and up. Good With Other Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Tested, but has not lived with cats. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes House Manners: Good Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes, Tess is an easy walker Knows Basic Commands: Sit Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High):Couch Potato to Moderate Special Needs: None Physical Fence: Preferred / No Invisible Fences Nickname: Dutchess Favorite game: Fetch Arrival story: Spent a long stint at the Saginaw County Animal Shelter. Approximate age / Weight: 10-years-old and 66 lbs. Personality: The Duchess has arrived. The Duchess of Waggin’ Tails that is! Ruler of the foster dog kingdom or errr… her foster home. Tess is a spunky lady, who loves to snuggle, go for walks, play with her tiny toys and zoomie around the yard. Queen Tess is a pretty easy-going lady and loves to just hang out with her people on her throne (couch) after taking you on a parade around her kingdom (neighborhood). She knows sit, and has more of a refined palate and leans into being more of a meat and potato type of girl. Tess is kind to all her subjects (cat and dog-tested). She is nervous around new people, so a slow introduction with lots of treats is the way to this queen’s heart. New Home: She likes to hang out with her people and is a great daily walking buddy. Would be happy living with other animals, but would also be happy to eat up all the attention she truly deserve as the only Queen in your home. Are you willing to roll out the red carpet for her? Story
Take a look at this big beautiful boy! His foster mom calls him Monkey Marcel (FKA Rustic Adobe) because he can climb fences. Monkey stole our hearts at the Detroit shelter because he was just so shut down and only wanted to come up to you and bury his head in your chest while you gave him pets. 5 years old, 82 lbs, Cane Corso mix that is neutered and UTD on shots. Here’s what his foster mom says: Sweetest face & absolutely adores human companionship. Always ready for adventure with you, a car ride, meeting new friends, exploring new places, and learning new skills. House and potty trained. He is still learning that the crate is a fun and safe place. Ultimate gentleman on a leash, only pulling a little at first with the excitement of a new adventure. Knows how to sit like a king and will eagerly offer his paw—he loves showing off his good manners! He’s not much of a barker, and greets visitors with a waggy tail. Loves training games, his favorite treats are chicken bits and meatballs. He is both highly food motivated and praise motivated. Ultimate “velcro dog” in the making — snuggles, cuddles and massages are top on his list, melting into you and rolling on his back for belly rubs. His silly, playful side has started to peek out too, chasing and pouncing on tennis balls like a cat or showing off his climbing agility. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for his forever family, someone who will appreciate his calm, loving nature. Monkey would enjoy a lifestyle where he can be included in your daily activities and would love to go to work with you. Currently, he shows great interest in other animals. He has been around horses and donkeys! So far, he has offered some playbows with another dog, but has not yet had an opportunity to further explore doggie friendships. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet the magnificent Miss Hetti. She is a playful, energy abundant Cane Corso, and likely, boxer mix. Her most recent weight has her up to 68lbs at around 16 months old. She loves tummy rubs, fetch, and Benebone chew toys. Hetti thrives on multiple walks per day however can over heat quickly in higher temps. She is very strong and still learning manners with passing animals so an experienced handler and dog owner is a must. She loves greeting people but due to her size and still puppy behaviors, a house with kids over 12 is preferred. For Hetti to live her best life she should be a solo canine with a large fenced yard and an active owner willing to give her the exercise and attention she needs. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am
