Story
Storm only knew life as a beloved pet. She lived in the same home, with the same owner for 8 years, until her owner had to move and could no longer keep her. Eight years of cuddling, eight years of being loved and treated well and eight years of being told "You are a special girl." It is no wonder that Storm hasn't taken to shelter life easily. Even with all her comfy bedding, oversized kennel space and walks with our volunteers & staff, shelter life is been hard. Our sweet 8yr old, 130 pound Cane Corso according to her owner is house-broken, crated trained, and already knows "sit, down, stay, come, drop" and LOVES to play with tennis balls. She would do best in a home with 17yrs +, and needs slow introductions when meeting new people. If you have it in your heart and home to consider a very deserving girl, please consider Storm.If you want to find out more, contact our placement team at The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT: 516.785.5220#survivor #overbred #yorkie #doodle #husky #shepherd #terrier #mixedbreed #seeme #dogtiktok #doglove #blackwhite #brindle #senior #seniordogs #fosteringsaveslives #dogsrule #seniordog #seniordogs #animalrescue #rescued #shelterdog #shelterdogs #savealife #shelter #rescuedog #dogsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #dog #dogs #dogstagram #rescue #instadog #dogoftheday #doglife #puppy #doglover #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #dogsofinsta #doglovers #rescuedogs #doggo #love #puppylove #muttsofinstagram #puppiesofinstagram #ilovemydog #happydog #adopt #cute #pitbull #mutt #dogsofig #pitbullsofinstagram #socialmediamutts #shelterfacebookdogs #dogmom #petsofinstagram #dogslife #instagram #cutedogs #of #shelterdog #cutedog #dogphotography #doglove #puppies #dogsofinstaworld #pets #rescuepup #pet #mixedbreed #petstagram #dogrescue #instadogs #rescuedogsrock #dontbullymybreed #adoptme #furbaby #hundeliebe #lovedogs #doggy #seniordog #rescueismyfavoritebreed #dogmodel #bruisednotbroken #decompressdoggy #bemyforever #whatisforeverfamily #loveme #shelterpup #shelterpups #eastcoastshelterdogs #eastcoastshelterdog

Story
My name is Kyma.... but you knew that already! Foster mom has been calling me Strike because I like to roll around and get tangled between your feet (similar to a bowling ball). I am just so happy to be in New York! I can't help but run around! So... I have 2 foster brothers and 1 foster sister. I love them so much, even though they're much bigger than me. They like the toys but, I like them more. At first started to take the toys one by one, very sneakily, over to my bed.... But now, while my siblings are asleep, I grab the whole toy bin and drag it over to my bed! Some may call that greedy.. I refer to it as "saving time and energy". I am very good at going on wee-wee pads. Usually foster mom's pups mistake their beds for wee wee pads but I don't know how that could have happened... Odd... Anyways, my favorite pass time is to find the most ridiculous place in the apartment and get into the wildest position, and fall asleep. I'm pretty silly now that I feel safe! At night, I curl up into the little bed my foster mom put next to hers and fall asleep. I love to sleep because I love waking up for the exciting day ahead, tomorrow! I am working on crate training with foster mom. She feeds me in the crate and then lets me hang out in there for a little. More and more each day, I am leaning that the crate isn't there to hurt me! That's so cool! I came to New York in hopes of finding a forever home, if you think it could be you, don't hesitate to apply! I can't wait to meet you, I promise I am A LOT of fun! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States ##1714745##

Story
Kilo is a gorgeous 2.5 Year Old; 116lb Cane Corso. Kilo is smart, driven, and eager to please. He loves toys, stuffed Kongs, being close to his humans, and he LOVES interacting with dogs of all sizes. He’s also fully crate and house trained and is an incredible companion to have by your side! Kilo needs a Mastiff or a Guardian breed savvy adopter who will give him the time, structure, and guidance he needs to thrive.@dreamcometruek9 took Kilo under their wing and he’s been in their board and train program with Blake in Florida (what a vaca huh ) for the last 4 weeks. Blake shares that Kilo is “Absolutely fu**ing awesome” and has been a joy to train and work with. He’s been spending his time soaking in the sun, going on bike runs and has been around young children, other dogs and new people. (While in NYC he was also a star at doggy daycare) What’s Kilo looking for? A forever home with someone eager and willing to invest in building a relationship and taking the time to learn how to provide for him. Someone that has time to do things with him outside of just just walking him or letting him out in the yard. His trainer says “Get a human that can provide structure, boundaries and fair exposure and there should be no issues.”KILO’S SEARCH FOR A FOSTER OR ADOPTER IS URGENT, as he has two more weeks to go in training, and having nowhere to go once that is complete will only set him back. For Kilo, we are prioritizing applicants with Breed experience and training experience. Kilo is neutered and up to date on vaccines, and is truly one of the exceptional dogs we’ve ever met. His forever family will feel lucky day in and day out to have such an incredible companion by their side.  More videos of Kilo can be found here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Ctg8UjGroiz/To apply to adopt and meet Kilo, please submit an application at rescuecity.nyc/adopt. Please email adoptions@rescuecity.nyc with any questions - or foster@rescuecity.nyc. Please help us network and share this very deserving dog.  ##1311206##

Yours truly, Rosco   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING ONE OF OUR AMAZING RESCUE DOGS - WE CAN’T WAIT TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND! The first step in getting started with our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.adopt-a-dog.org. We welcome you to come visit our shelter! Meet & greets will be set up by appointment once your application has been received & processed. If a dog is still listed on Petfinder, we are still accepting applications for them!   *Name: Rosco *Age: 11 years *Current Weight: 90 lbs *Rescued from: Florida *Adoption fee: $300 *Health: Up to date on age-appropriate core vaccines so far (adopter will be responsible for remaining vaccinations if applicable), spayed/neutered , microchipped, dewormed *If the dog you are adopting is not yet spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, we require a $150 deposit in addition to the adoption fee (to be refunded upon proof of surgery within 6 months of adoption)     ** Please note that we are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the dog’s physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is often limited. We encourage you to consider individual personality rather than relying on a label – meeting a dog in person is the best way to make sure it’s love!   FAQs: WHAT IS THE ADOPTION PROCESS?: The first step in adopting an AAD dog is to fill out an application via our website www.adoptadog.org. Once we receive your application, one of our application processors will contact you, and answer any questions you may have. We will also ask for additional information if needed (landlord or veterinarian contact information, or other based on your application). Once an application has been approved, we will schedule a mutually convenient time for a meet & greet! We do not operate on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the dog.   HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO ADOPT?:  You must be age 25 or older to apply to adopt. If you live in a home with other people (ie parents, relatives) the person who will be financially responsible for the care of the dog should be the one to fill out the application.   HOW CAN I MEET THE ADOPTABLE DOGS?: Meet and greets will be scheduled once your adoption application has been fully processed by one of our adoption processors. Please be sure to fill out the application as thoroughly as possible, as we want to make sure we find you the perfect match!   *If you have any additional questions that have not been answered, please e-mail info@adoptadog.org! ##1303596##
