Meet Zoe (a.k.a. Bair), your Oversized Lap Dog Extraordinaire Looking for a loyal shadow who doubles as a space heater? Meet Zoe! The shelter calls her Bair, but she prefers Zoe—because even dogs know branding matters. At 125 pounds, Zoe has mastered the art of pretending she’s a lap dog. If you’ve ever dreamed of being crushed lovingly while watching TV, she’s your gal. She’ll follow you everywhere—yes, even to the bathroom. Privacy? Overrated. Why Zoe is Basically Perfect:• Best in a home with no children under 16 years old• Leash manners: She’s surprisingly chill on walks, despite her linebacker size.• Couch potato vibes: She would love to sleep on your bed and hog the couch, but she’s learning boundaries shockingly well.• Designer Dog naturally: She’s a boutique breed, like a finely crafted cocktail. We think she’s a blend of cane corso, Great Dane, and pit bull.• Zoe needs to be the only dog in the home due to food-reactivity with other pups, but with humans she’s all love.Bonus Features:• Knows her basics: Sit, down, stay—she’s got the classics covered.• Even keel temperament: She’s calm, steady, and clearly came from a loving home.• Built-in winter warmer: Forget blankets, Zoe is 125 pounds of snuggly insulation.• Cherry eye? No worries—ACC will fix it when she’s spayed. Consider it a minor cosmetic quirk, like a beauty mark.Zoe is the full package: loyal, affectionate, and ready to be your best friend (and personal bodyguard). If you’re looking for a dog who will love you unconditionally, keep you warm, and occasionally flatten you with affection, Zoe is waiting to meet you.

Story
Buck was picked up by Memphis Animal Services in Memphis Tennessee. We have saved many dogs from Tennessee and have them transported to NC or wherever then need to go for adoption. We've had great success. Buck was found wandering around with a "bucket" stuck on his head. Eventually someone helped remove it and he was taken to Animal Control. He was immediately adopted out. Then earlier this year, he was again picked up as a stray. We couldn't allow this sweet dog to be euthanized (it is a HIGH KILL SHELTER). So, with the help of a foster, we were able to save him. He is great with dogs and kids. He's a lover. If you want to give Buck a home, we would love to hear from you.

Story
Meet Sage — The Gentle Guardian of Your Heart! Sage is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a calm presence, soft eyes, and a heart as big as her 70-pound frame (though she should ideally be closer to 80 pounds). She has the classic loyalty of her breed without the demands of a working-dog lifestyle — Sage is very much an indoor companion and loves being part of the household. She gets along well with other dogs and naturally carries a confident, leader-type energy. She currently shares her space with a female Great Pyrenees with zero issues — they’re a peaceful pair! With her steady temperament and gentle nature, Sage brings a calm, grounding energy wherever she goes. Sage would thrive with a family who appreciates a loyal shadow, a soft cuddle buddy, and a dog who wants to be with her people more than she wants a job. If you're looking for a serene, devoted companion wrapped in a big, beautiful package, Sage might just be the one. Ready to give this lovely girl the home she deserves? Come meet Sage — she’s waiting to be your calm and constant friend. If you are interested in adopting Sage, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** December 13, 2025, 11:11 am
