Story
hi Gabby, this stunning lady is a 8 month-old Cane Corso. She was surrendered to our care from a commercial breeder because she was unable to be sold. She is 68 lbs. Gabby is big sweet baby who is a little bit scared and a little bit playful. She has been through some big changes recently so it is not a surprise that she needs some time to adjust. She is hoping for a loving and patient home that has guardian breed experience. This girl will grow up to be a loving, smart and loyal companion to one lucky family. She would need to meet any resident dogs. She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. She is also scheduled to have her cherry eye fixed (which is the reason she didn't sell). If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $500. Story
MARVEL is a 5 yr old Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) who came to us after she became protective of her family in their home. Marvel is a victim of Covid-19. With the shelter in place order, her family was not able to properly socialize her and she grew up as a “big fish in a little pond”. Her family had many special needs children and medical care professionals needed to visit the home during the pandemic. They arrived wearing masks and Marvel thought that was very scary and began to protect the children from these masked strangers. The family called in a trainer but, due to the circumstances, everything was a little overwhelming for them. We acquired her on the day she was to be euthanized. Marvel has been fine with us. With a handful of treats she warms up quickly to our volunteers. We did have one incident with an unannounced visitor who approached her quickly and the result was a bite. In a home she may revert to her protectiveness so we are looking for a family with Cane Corso experience - walking the line between socialization and keeping her safe. Cane Corsos were originally war dogs during the Roman empire and used for protection - it is ingrained in their DNA. They have also been used for drafting and droving cattle – IE they need a job to do. Just sitting around the house twiddling their thumbs is a recipe for disaster which is what got Marvel into the situation in the first place. We have paired Marvel with playful young male dogs and they do well together with supervision (Marvel tends to play rough and takes the upper hand). We feel that she could work out in a home with a well-adjusted male dog to show her appropriate dog behavior or as an only pup. Not cat compatible. Marvel can fly over a 4 foot fence so 6 foot privacy fencing is ideal. If you are the home that we are looking for, please fill out an application at www.CompAnimals.org. Marvel is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Adoption $300.November 3, 2024, 10:40 am

Story
Liberty is a 9 year old spayed female cane corso who weighs about 115 pounds. She was rescued as part of a humane case in 2020 and she is finally ready to find a home of her own! Liberty is a volunteer favorite and we have spoiled her rotten while she has waited for her court case to settle. She previously lived with other dogs, but due to being by herself over the years, we would prefer that she is the only pet in the home. Liberty is easy going, house trained, walks well on a leash and will be a wonderful addition. Story
She was born on August 20, 2023, and is two years and four months old. She's very playful and needs a lot of attention. She's very affectionate and loves to run and jump. Her favorite food is plain cooked chicken with her dog food. Due to space limitations in my house and because I recently got married, it's impossible for me to keep her, and I want to find her a good home where she'll be cared for.

Story
Theo is absolutely stunning—with his silvery fawn coat, soulful light eyes, and regal presence, he looks every bit the noble Cane Corso. But behind that striking exterior is a gentle, tender boy who just wants to connect. At first, Theo can be shy about getting on leash, but with a little patience and encouragement, he blossoms into a wonderful walking companion. He doesn’t pull much, loves his treats, and is quick to make eye contact with his person. This handsome guy already knows “sit” and “paw,” and once he’s comfortable, his playful side begins to shine through. Theo came into the shelter with two other Cane Corsos—one thought to be his mom—and volunteers believe he may be younger than originally noted. With consistency, love, and a safe place to land, Theo will grow into a deeply loyal best friend. Precious, handsome, and full of heart—Theo is waiting to meet the person who will see the gem he truly is. 💙

Story
Meet Tony — the sweetest comeback kid you’ll ever meet! Tony is a 3-year-old Corso mix who’s learning how wonderful life can be. Now that he’s safe, loved, Tony is happily working on gaining weight and discovering all the good things the world has to offer. Personality & Training Tony is an easy companion on walks — he’s calm, polite on a leash, and completely non-reactive to passing dogs, people, bikes, or anything else that crosses his path. He’s housebroken, sleeps soundly through the night, and settles in his crate. He’s a great car rider and is always ready to keep you company. Dog & Kid Friendly Tony gets along with kids and people of all ages. He can coexist with other dogs, but because of his past, he currently resource guards high-value items around other dogs. With structure and continued training, this is manageable — he just prefers his special treasures to himself. Favorite Things Tony loves squeaky toys… mostly so he can perform “surgery” and remove the squeaker with great pride. He’s also a big fan of belly rubs, cozy naps, and any chance to be near his people. Who Tony Is Looking For Tony is seeking a family who will continue helping him gain weight, build confidence, and enjoy the love and security he deserves. He will thrive with someone who appreciates a gentle, loyal companion who’s ready for both snuggles and adventure. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving dog with a goofy side and a heart of gold, Tony is your guy. He can’t wait to meet his forever family!
