Story
CleoApprox. 2 years old | 45 lbs | Mixed BreedMeet Cleo — the total package of smarts, sweetness, and goofball charm!Cleo is an affectionate, loyal girl who adores people and thrives in the heart of the action. Whether she’s snuggling on the couch or romping around the yard, Cleo is happiest when she’s close to her humans (or her dog pals!). She’s never met a stranger—human or animal—and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. This playful pup is great with other dogs and has been incredibly gentle and sweet with both small and special needs dogs in her foster home. She even raised a couple of pups herself after being heartbreakingly abandoned at the shelter while in labor. Cleo is a mama through and through—nurturing, social, and full of love. She’s also fantastic with kids and would thrive in a family home where there’s plenty of playtime, affection, and activity to go around. While she’s super playful, she’s also well-mannered inside: housebroken, respectful of household items, and content when she has her toys to keep her busy. (Okay—she might swipe a snack from the counter if no one’s looking, but who can blame her?)Cleo walks nicely on leash but has a strong prey drive and will let you know when there’s a squirrel in the vicinity! A family comfortable handling a strong, energetic dog will help her be her best self on walks and adventures. She’s the kind of dog who would love an active home—maybe with another playful pup, older kids, or people who enjoy walks, hikes, and weekend outings. But no matter what, Cleo’s heart is as big as her personality, and she’s just waiting to find her forever people to love.Name: CleoBreed: Carolina Dog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 1-2 yrs  (estimated)Weight: 45 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Has lived with a cat and did fine; we can retest if neededAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    New England Soon  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Adoption Donation   $ 499 Located:  in RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: approx 2-3 years old or Weight: 50lbs     Layne is a beautiful 2-3-year-old, 50 lb golden pup. Layne came to us pretty timid and scared of the world but has since gained a lot of confidence. She wants to be loved and give love in return. Layne lives with other dogs, kids and a baby. She is a sweetheart. She is not afraid to put the rowdy male dogs she lives with in their places .  She is pretty quiet. She is the only dog in the house who does not bark at the mailman .  Layne does best being able to run free and watch the birds fly by so a fenced yard is preferred. Layne loves playing fetch and treat time. She loves romping around the yard with her four-legged foster brothers. She does well with senior dogs as well.  If you have lots of love and patience to give a former shelter dog, a fenced yard and another friendly pup, please reach out to set up a meet and greet with this sweet girl. She also has a foster brother, Puddles, who is looking for a home and they would be perfect being adopted together if you were looking for two dogs.      If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:    reginasfosterdogs@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur.
