Story
Piper has a special story and is a beautiful and sweet cat. A lady in Colorado Springs heard faint mews under her house. After exploration, a super soft blue-gray kitten was found among the pipes. She was taken in, given a loving home, and named Piper. As that lady neared the end of her life, her family could not take Piper because of dog issues, so I took in Piper to give it a try. Piper sometimes hisses and swats at our husky, but gets along fine with our schnauzer/poodle. She has also come to terms with one cat, but fights giant fights with the other. So ultimately, I think Piper would thrive best in a situation where she could be alone. In addition, Piper has glaucoma in both of her eyes. She receives eyedrops daily to help the condition, but has trouble seeing because of it. I think this is ultimately why she has trouble using the facilities to eliminate. I believe she can smell the litterbox, but can't see it or find it, so she goes close to the scent where she feels safe.

Story
Hello there, my name is Denmark. I am quiet kitty that is looking for a quiet home. I am a tad on the reserved side and it takes some time for me to warm up to new people. I am slowly learning that petting is ok and would love a family willing to give me the time and space I need to adjust. I do love other kitties, the more confident the better! If you would like to learn more about me or set up an appointment to meet me, please call my friends at TCRAS. 719-686-7707

Story
Hello, my name is Minniehaha!I`m a very shy girl and I take a bit of time to get used to people around me. I do love having another kitty companion, it really helps my confidence! When I`m comfortable I enjoy playing, I think wand toys are the best. I prefer to have a quiet space and maybe a box to hide in, it helps me feel safe. For more information or to set an appointment to meet me, please call TCRAS at (719) 686 7707!

Story
Hi, my name is Socks. I’m a 7 Year old Siamese (8 on March 15th)! I am a purebred Siamese looking for a perfect home. I am looking to go to a non-stress home where I can lay around and hang out. I do well with dogs, although I would prefer at most 2 dogs. I may take awhile to warm up to other cats as well, but I have a brother who moved in when I was 3 and we get along perfectly now! We are looking for Socks to go to the right home, which is why we put a very small adoption fee. Our number one priority is making sure she is happy. Socks has recently become very stressed and unhappy in our home now that we have gotten another dog. If you are interested in Socks, we’d be more than happy to chat. She is perfectly healthy, including a healthy weight and size. Thanks!

Story
Kiki is fully integrated into her foster home and confidently roams the house. She is an outgoing, curious explorer who loves to watch everything and everyone around her. Kiki enjoys affection, but only on her terms, and prefers to be in control of when and how she’s touched. She has a high tolerance for noise and visitors, but also values her independence and personal space. While she will occasionally cuddle with Seymour, she is quick to set boundaries if he becomes too pushy. Kiki is happiest when she has her own food station and litter box. She is not a fan of dogs—especially those who chase her—but handles a busy environment with confidence.Seymour is an affectionate marshmallow of a cat who is deeply fearful and sensitive to his surroundings. In a busy household, he spends most of his time in a safe den under a bed and will only socialize when the environment is calm and dogs are out of sight. When Seymour feels safe and secure, he is incredibly loving and enjoys intense face snuggles, brushing and grooming, belly rubs, and chase games. Because he is not yet comfortable enough to groom himself regularly, he currently has some dandruff and mild odor issues, which are expected to improve significantly in a quieter, low-stress home where he can relax and move freely. These two will require an adopter who understands that a lengthy adjustment period—especially for Seymour—is normal and expected. Seymour needed over two weeks of complete, quiet isolation before he would tolerate any human interaction. During that time, even routine care such as feeding or cleaning his space resulted in hissing, swatting, and defensive behavior. Progress came through patience, respecting his boundaries, and calm companionship. A Feliway diffuser was helpful, and trust began to build through multiple sessions of quietly offering high-value treats (especially tuna) while ignoring him. He is comfortable leaving his space when no one is present, so a setup with food and litter located separately to minimize stress would work well.Seymour now allows all family members to pet him, provided the environment is calm and dogs are out of sight. However, a loud and active household with dogs and young children is not an ideal long-term fit for him. He is expected to thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home.I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Please contact my foster parent, Alexie, at armapson@gmail.com to ask questions or set up a visit.
