Story
Aristophanes and I have been friends since he was a tiny baby back in 2012. He would LOVE to be an only-child to someone who wanted to scratch his cheeks and inside of his ears alllllll day! He's lived a bit of a tough life, has some separation anxiety and a sinus problem that we treated with antibiotics already. Aristophanes loves basking in a warm patch of sunlight and is very food and treat motivated. He's as talkative as any Siamese cat is, too! He is unhappy in his home, and I think he has been for awhile; can you help give my old friend the dignified life and care he truly deserves? If you want a soft, sometimes slightly grumpy old man to talk to, 'Stoph is second to none!

Story
This is Fergie (boots with the fur). She was given to me to receive surgery for her knees, that her previous owners couldn’t afford. I never planned on keeping her, only to help her get the surgery she needed, and then finding her a place to call home. She is around 2 years old, 7.5lbs, indoor only, spayed, vaccinated, up to date on blood work and negative for FIV/FeLV. She had bilateral luxating patella’s, both of her knees wouldn’t stay in place and would pop in and out, causing a lot of discomfort. She got her knee surgery 3/23, and has been recovering slowly, but well! She does still need medication for pain, and she doesn’t mind being a little lazy! She loves to snuggle and takes her meds so well in wet food. She loves to rub herself wherever you’ll let her, and she has the cutest meow when it’s breakfast/dinner time. She is good with other cats, not a huge fan of dogs but has done well with respectful dogs that give her space!

Story
Meet Marmalade! This charming girl is as sweet as her name—with just the right touch of sass to keep things interesting. Marmalade would love to be your one-and-only pet, happily soaking up all the attention for herself. Her spirited personality means she’ll do best in a home without young children, where she can truly shine.Marmalade is also on a special C/D diet to support her urinary health, so her future family should be ready to keep her on this routine. If you’re looking for a cat with both heart and a little spice, Marmalade might be your perfect match. Stop by KVHS during adoption hours to meet her!

Story
** Foster-to-adopt eligible**Meet Curtis, a 6 year old diabetic kitty with tons of charm, personality, and just the right amount of chaos! Despite his medical needs, Curtis is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves attention from his people!Curtis is very food motivated, and will let you know when HE believes it`s dinnertime, but he must stay on a strict diet to help manage his diabetes as well as receive insulin injections every 12 hours to keep his blood glucose levels in check. Curtis is also FIV+, so he will need to be the only cat in the home, have his own separate space or live with other FIV+ kitties.Curtis is currently available under our foster-to-adopt program, because while we want him to be at his absolute best when he goes to his forever home, he isn`t quite there yet and we believe that he will benefit being out of the shelter environment as we continue to help get his diet and insulin needs to where they need to be so he can thrive. If you are interested in fostering, foster-to-adopting, or have any questions about Curtis, please give us a call (207) 626-3491 or stop by during our open hours and ask to speak to a staff member about him!
