Story
Snow is a spayed female white-and-black cat, born in late September 2023. She was rescued as a juvenile from a colony of strays. She was beautiful and had such potential that she was taken into foster care instead of returning to her colony after her surgery. She would have been adopted quickly for sure except that she began to show signs of illness. Snow has a very SPECIAL story. She came down with FIP! In the past there was no cure for FIP and cats usually had to be put to sleep when the disease progressed. During COVID 19 a cure for FIP was discovered in Europe when scientists were researching Remdesivir for humans. The treatment is lengthy and costly, but Snow is one of the growing number of survivors! She has an outstanding personality. She is the greeter for her foster household, welcoming any visitors and all new additions to the foster family. She is a great lap cat and an excellent 'bird-watcher' and she will be a blessing to her new family when she gets her forever home! Indoor cat only!! The adoption fee is $25. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.  February 20, 2026, 9:19 am
