Story
Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Two year old tortie point Siamese femaleScarlet is a rescue. She was feral when she arrived to the rescue. When she was spayed, they clipped one of her ear tips as normally feral cats are released back to the wild. Instead of releasing the sweet girl, I brought her home and tamed her. She is very sweet, very loving and looking for her forever home. She is currently in Harrison, Arkansas. Rescue pets are transported near your locations via the rescue network transport. Please do not inquire through Facebook, but rather send an email with your phone number to inquire.April 9, 2025, 4:15 pm

Story
Nell was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Louisiana. Sweet little Nell came to her Louisiana shelter as a stray, but she never showed any hesitation in trusting humans. Upon her arrival, the staff there noticed her belly looked a little swollen, and sure enough, she was pregnant. They sent her to a foster home so she could give birth in a quieter setting, and Nell turned out to be a great momma. While in foster, they discovered her response to dogs varies, so slow introductions to a home with dogs is encouraged. Once Nell returned to the shelter from foster care, she would get a little guarded when she was surrounded by other cats, but she got more comfortable with time and even started acting a little goofy with the toys. Ultimately, though, she might be happiest without a lot of other animals - we believe this is the setting to which she would adapt the fastest. Nell never hesitates to seek out her humans for attention and will be a wonderful, loving companion for a lucky adopter! If you can give Nell the loving home of her dreams, please stop by the Adoption Center's OPEN HOURS EVERY DAY EXCEPT WEDNESDAY from 11am to 4pm, or contact the NHSPCA at info@nhspca.org Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 4.7 Age: 1yrs 9mths 3wks

Story
Hi there my name is Harley. I arrived at the NHSPCA when I was not getting along with the kids in my previous household. Moving to a new environment was very scary for me and it took me a while to warm up with the staff members here at the shelter. Although I'm not one to be outgoing right away, I am an affectionate girl and love to get attention (on my own accord, obviously). I am looking for a low stress household to call my own. If you think you could give me the time and patience to reach my fullest potential, please come visit me at the NHSPCA Adoption center, open every day from 11-4 (EXCEPT WEDNESDAYS). Story
Meet Sage! Sage is a gorgeous gray 1 1/2 year old female DLH. Sage was surrendered to us when her owner couldn't care for her any longer. She's a truly affectionate girl who's very vocal and energetic, loves to be patted and sleep on your lap. There is one thing to be mentioned about this lovely lady however - as a kitten, she was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), a virus that affects a cat's immune system and can make them more vulnerable to infections, anemia, and in some cases, cancer. FeLV is primarily transmitted between cats through close contact-most commonly through saliva, such as grooming, shared food and water bowls, or bite wounds. It is not transmissible to humans or other species. After arriving to our shelter, she was retested and her FeLV results came back negative. This kind of discordance can occur for a number of reasons. Because of the uncertainty and potential risk, our shelter is following the best practice of treating her as FeLV-positive. This means she should be the only cat in the home (unless you already have FeLV positive cats in the home) and she must live strictly indoors to avoid spreading the virus to other cats and to protect her from infections she may be more susceptible to. Many FeLV-positive cats live happy, fulfilling lives for years.Do you need to Sage your house? Who needs a plant when you could have a cat! Please stop by the Adoption Center's OPEN HOURS EVERY DAY EXCEPT WEDNESDAY from 11am to 4pm, or contact the NHSPCA at info@nhspca.org for full medical records. Story
Socksy is looking for a hospice home. He was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This senior gentleman is an absolute doll! He is friendly, cuddly, and loves to be with people. Socksy is an expert biscuit maker and thoroughly enjoys kneading any soft surface, but most especially a fleecy blanket. He is looking for a warm lap to cuddle up on, snuggly beds, and perhaps a sunny window perch where he can watch birds and squirrels outside his window. Unfortunately, once arriving to the NHSPCA, it was discovered Socksy had Peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH). It is a congenital anomaly where abdominal contents pass through a defect in the diaphragm and pericardium into the chest cavity. It was surgically repaired, but unfortunately, has returned, though at a lesser scale. He is clinically doing well and is looking for someone who wants to help a special needs cat, for however long he has left. Socksy is a fabulous fellow who cannot wait to finally have someone to love & spoil him as he deserves! If you can give Socksy the home of his dreams, please stop by the Adoption Center's OPEN HOURS EVERY DAY EXCEPT WEDNESDAY from 11am to 4pm, or contact the NHSPCA at info@nhspca.org for full medical records.
