Marguerite is a 17-year old female. She weighs approximately eight pounds. She is classified as a Black Tiger, but there is definitely some Maine Coon in there. I am relocating to a new home that does not accept pets of any kind, despite my best efforts. Marguerite loves people, loves attention, loves to be near you. She’s not shy about asking for scratches. She has only lived with people, so I’m not sure how she would respond to other pets. Her health and appetite are excellent, but as an older cat, she uses the litter box often, so I would recommend two boxes if she is by herself. I recommend wet food that is low in ash, calcium, and phosphorus. I can recommend a non-prescription brand that she likes very much. I adopted Marguerite a one-year old, so we have been together a long time. However, I have to go on my own way, so I am looking for a safe, loving home where she can spend her final years. She is exclusively an indoor cat, but her rabies shot is current.

Yes, I know....I'm beautiful but I haven't had such a good life. I was born on the streets of Miami. Struggled for food and shelter. Gave birth to multiple litters of kittens. Even nursed an orphaned kitten that wasn't my own. Then Thisisthedog.org rescued me and my last litter of kittens. They took care of me, gave me food, shelter, vet care and most importantly LOVE! Now it's my turn to find a forever home for just me! I am scared but if you give me a chance I promise to give you years of joy and companionship. I think I would do best in a quieter home with no other cats or dogs. I want you for myself. I like being petted and will rub up against you and purr. I don't mind being picked up but it feels a little weird. My foster mom has been very patient with me and really thinks I have it in me to be a lap kitty. I would make a wonderful family member. Will you take a chance on me?

She will come to greet you and even sometimes rub against your legs, and enjoys being petted (carefully and gently), but she will likely always be a shy kitty. The best home for Samantha would be a quiet one with someone or a family who will give her the patience, space and care she needs to build trust. A noisy or high-energy home would not be a good fit for her. We would love for mother and daughter to be adopted together, as they are very bonded! But this is not required.
