Story
Meet Meep! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog currently in Oakland, CA, whose essence is a whirlwind of playful charm wrapped in a stunning merle coat and powered by puppy-sized curiosity. Meep is a big-hearted 90 pound pup with a big future! He’s the kind of companion who makes every day feel like recess, with boundless energy, a contagious grin, and a serious love for belly rubs. Meep lives for zooming around the yard, soaking up attention, and gleefully interacting with people and pups who appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life. This sweet boy is both crate trained and house-trained, making him a solid addition to a home that can offer him structure, consistency, and lots of active time. He’s mastered “sit” like a pro, especially when there’s a treat or belly scratch involved, and he’s incredibly tuned in to his humans, always eager to learn and please! While Meep is still working on leash manners (a little leash reactivity pops up now and then), with positive reinforcement and regular walks, he’s well on his way to being a stellar walking buddy. Meep gets along especially well with small dogs and adores young children, showing a gentle and goofy side that melts hearts. With larger dogs, he can be a bit much, especially if they’re not into his puppy playstyle, so a home where he's the only large do (or with tolerant, playful companions) would be a great fit. He would thrive in a space with a fenced yard where he can stretch those long legs and burn off some energy between cuddle sessions. Playful, affectionate, and endlessly trainable, Meep is looking for a guardian who understands the joy (and the challenge) of raising a big, bouncy pup. He needs someone ready to guide him with kindness, keep him engaged, and enjoy the ride of watching him grow into the loyal, loving dog he’s meant to be. Are you ready to meet the happy whirlwind that is Meep and help him write his next great adventure? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com today!

Story
Moose hands down wins the award for the coolest looking dog this year. He was found in a shelter with his 8 siblings. We had room for one and Moose was it. What a fantastic, fun, playful well behaved pup. Moose is living at the beach with his foster and is enjoying an active lifestyle. He weighs around 48 pounds now. Moose will be a fantastic family dog. He is great with all people and dogs. Crate trained and house trained. C'mon... who wouldn't want this amazing dog as part of their family? All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Handsome Romeo is a gem! He's super and handsome and very sweet. Romeo and his girlfriend were abandoned in the streets of Los Angeles. But he hasn't lost trust in humans. He loves to hang out by your side, whether you are watching TV or working on your car. Romeo is affectionate and adorable. He likes to go on walks but he's happy to just sunbathe in the yard. Story
Cheyenne is a 7 year old deaf Catahoula Leopard Hound mix. She came to us from a kill shelter in Alabama. She’s a beautiful girl who is a bit on the shy side, gentle, and she has lived with other dogs. Oh, and she’s a looker, too, with those bright blue eyes and merle coat. Cheyenne is a graduate of our Group Training Class, Basic Obedience. We wouldn't recommend that Cheyenne live with children, she prefers a quiet adult household. She would do best as an only dog. We're not sure about cats. To meet Cheyenne, please fill out an application for adoption:   http://www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html      Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Cheyenne.  November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Meet Koa! A spirited seven-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound mix currently in Temecula, CA, whose presence is a lively blend of soulful howls and boundless energy wrapped in a sleek black coat with warm brown accents. Koa is an affectionate, high-energy companion who thrives on human connection and loves being part of the action, whether he is heading out for a long run, enjoying enrichment time with his favorite bones, or hopping into the car for an adventure! He already knows commands like sit, lay, and stay, and he responds well to structure and continued learning through positive reinforcement. Koa forms strong bonds with his people and greets others with enthusiasm, bringing a joyful spark into daily life! He is house-trained, crate trained, and comfortable being left alone for short periods, making him a steady presence in a home that can match his active lifestyle. His expressive howl and constant-companion nature make him a memorable and engaging friend who loves to stay close to his favorite humans. Koa would do well in a calm, structured environment with an experienced guardian who understands canine communication and behavior support. He needs clear boundaries, consistent routines, and plenty of daily exercise to help him feel balanced and fulfilled. Koa is not compatible with multi-dog living and would need to be the only pet in the home so he can focus fully on his relationship with his family. Koa also has a history of challenging interactions that require thoughtful management. He has been involved in multiple conflicts with other dogs and has shown reactivity toward them. In addition, there was a recent incident where he bit a family member after being approached while resting, despite giving warning signals. This highlights how important it is for his guardian to recognize and respect his need for space, especially during rest times, and to provide a low-stimulation environment with careful introductions to new people. With the right guidance, Koa’s loyalty, energy, and affectionate personality truly shine. Could Koa be your next adventure partner who keeps life active, engaging, and full of connection? If you are ready to offer a structured, understanding environment, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Boomer update Since being saved from the euth list by @hopeforchinadogsrescue and moving into his new foster home, he’s been settling in beautifully and showing us exactly who he is when given structure and clarity!  Waits patiently for meals until given the okay to approach his bowl  Crates on command and settles quickly  Responsive, focused, and eager to work  Smart, athletic, and thrives with routine  He’s currently running 4 to 5 miles a day and could easily do more Boomer isn’t looking for a low key, lounge around home. He’ll thrive with:• An active lifestyle (running, hiking, training) • Clear structure and consistency • Someone who enjoys working with their dog • Mental enrichment, he’s a thinker  We think he’s a Dobermans Vizsla mix which explains why he’s incredibly loyal, a little “velcro” dog, and happiest when he has both purpose and his person. Boomer is going to be an absolute standout in his forever home - could that be with you?! Los Angeles, CA  DM us or info@hopeforchinadogsrescue.org to meet Boomer ##2665763##
