Story
Meet Star! 🌟 Star is a 4-year-old Catahoula/Hound mix with a heart every bit as big as her personality. This girl has been through more than most dogs ever should - she was shot, and the bullet went through her jaw and ear. She underwent jaw surgery, and as a result, her tongue now hangs out permanently. But Star doesn’t let her past define her. She is pure resilience wrapped in sweetness. Star is incredibly affectionate and so happy-natured. She loves to run, explore, and play, but she also knows how to wind down and melt into you for snuggles - the perfect balance of fun and companionship. She does wonderfully with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs, but would do best in a feline-free home as her instints may lead her to chase. She enjoys car rides and would make a wonderful adventure buddy for someone who wants a loyal co-pilot by their side. She’s very smart, already knows “sit,” and uses the doggie door like a total pro. Star is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the family who will love her for the amazing, one-of-a-kind girl she is. If you’re looking for a dog with a beautiful soul and an even more beautiful spirit, Star is your girl. 💛🐾 RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please go to: saveapreciouspaw@gmail.com

Story
The New Year is all about fresh starts, good energy, and bringing more joy into your life — and that’s exactly what Vibe is all about. Vibe is a crystal blue–eyed Catahoula mix male, just under 2 years old and around 39 lbs, and he brings the best kind of energy wherever he goes. He’s crate trained, housebroken (with a little grace as he learns your schedule), and fits in beautifully with dogs, puppies, cats, and children. Smart and eager to learn, Vibe is highly trainable and already has great manners. He eats and sleeps in his crate, doesn’t jump on furniture unless invited, and truly just wants to be a good boy. Most of all, he loves people — all people — and greets everyone like they’re his favorite. Vibe’s personality? Fun. Happy. Playful. Energetic. And yes — incredibly handsome. If your New Year goals include more movement, more laughter, and more time outdoors, he’s ready to be your hiking buddy, running partner, or daily “let’s get those steps in” motivation. Toss him a ball and he’s all in. Wind down afterward and he’s just as happy to curl up and snooze beside you. Vibe would thrive in just about any home and truly is the total family package. If you’re starting the New Year looking for a loyal companion and a little extra joy, Vibe might just be the perfect match. January 1, 2026, 11:13 am

Story
Pepper will be two on December 21st. She is a high energy dog and needs room to run and a good companion. She is loyal, but has a high prey drive and needs to know her place before listening. She knows sit, paw, and lay down. Pepper is also very food driven and does well to positive reinforcement. She was originally staying with a coworker when abruptly she was tied to a tree by my dumpster and left like trash. I'm not supposed to have dogs where I live but will take care of her until a suitable home is found. Older kids 8 and up would work for Pepper, but she doesn't know her size and can accidentally knock smaller ones down. She is very playful, loves her ball, and enjoys going for walks.

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Story
Eva Dean is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements. Eva is a sweet girl who is slower to warm up and feel comfortable, but given the right environment she will learn to be your new best friend!  Eva previously lived her life outside so is still figuring out that inside the house is safe and with time and patience she will continue to do so.  Eva loves to play with her toys, is playful and even plays fetch!  She is working on being comfortable in her crate and is doing really well with housetraining.  She does well with calm dogs and does better with them outside.  She is working on learning to share and be comfortable sharing her space inside.  Eva also walks well on the leash.  Miss Eva would benefit from training to help her on her path to becoming her best self!January 14, 2026, 8:57 pm

Story
Adoption Donation  $    299      Located:  RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: est. DOB 8/21/24   Weight: 65 lbs. Meet Chevy aka Puddles  This sweet 1-year-old pup is goofy and smart all in one beautiful package.  He does have some quirks that have kept him from winning over his own family. Chevy has stranger-danger and does not meet new people well. He does take a couple meets before he feels comfortable. He barks and guards his soul so none of those pesky human strangers can steal it.  If you can get past his quirk, I promise, this dog is one amazing friend. We all love him here in his foster home. He does currently live with kids and a baby but because of his quirky ways, I would feel better if he went to an adult only, experienced home.  He gets along great with the other dogs in my home besides the occasional toy scruffle. We don't know how he would be with cats.  He does bark and growl at strangers so a low traffic home would be best and a fenced yard is a must because it will take Chevy time to trust his new human and probably won't feel safe with a stranger walking him right away. Puddles is currently working with a trainer.  Come visit Puddles in his foster home any time just promise not to steal his soul.   *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    reginasfosterdogs@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur.
