Story
Meet Star! 🌟 Star is a 4-year-old Catahoula/Hound mix with a heart every bit as big as her personality. This girl has been through more than most dogs ever should - she was shot, and the bullet went through her jaw and ear. She underwent jaw surgery, and as a result, her tongue now hangs out permanently. But Star doesn’t let her past define her. She is pure resilience wrapped in sweetness. Star is incredibly affectionate and so happy-natured. She loves to run, explore, and play, but she also knows how to wind down and melt into you for snuggles - the perfect balance of fun and companionship. She does wonderfully with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs, but would do best in a feline-free home as her instints may lead her to chase. She enjoys car rides and would make a wonderful adventure buddy for someone who wants a loyal co-pilot by their side. She’s very smart, already knows “sit,” and uses the doggie door like a total pro. Star is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the family who will love her for the amazing, one-of-a-kind girl she is. If you’re looking for a dog with a beautiful soul and an even more beautiful spirit, Star is your girl. 💛🐾 RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please go to: saveapreciouspaw@gmail.com

Story
The New Year is all about fresh starts, good energy, and bringing more joy into your life — and that’s exactly what Vibe is all about. Vibe is a crystal blue–eyed Catahoula mix male, just under 2 years old and around 39 lbs, and he brings the best kind of energy wherever he goes. He’s crate trained, housebroken (with a little grace as he learns your schedule), and fits in beautifully with dogs, puppies, cats, and children. Smart and eager to learn, Vibe is highly trainable and already has great manners. He eats and sleeps in his crate, doesn’t jump on furniture unless invited, and truly just wants to be a good boy. Most of all, he loves people — all people — and greets everyone like they’re his favorite. Vibe’s personality? Fun. Happy. Playful. Energetic. And yes — incredibly handsome. If your New Year goals include more movement, more laughter, and more time outdoors, he’s ready to be your hiking buddy, running partner, or daily “let’s get those steps in” motivation. Toss him a ball and he’s all in. Wind down afterward and he’s just as happy to curl up and snooze beside you. Vibe would thrive in just about any home and truly is the total family package. If you’re starting the New Year looking for a loyal companion and a little extra joy, Vibe might just be the perfect match. January 1, 2026, 11:13 am

Story
Pepper will be two on December 21st. She is a high energy dog and needs room to run and a good companion. She is loyal, but has a high prey drive and needs to know her place before listening. She knows sit, paw, and lay down. Pepper is also very food driven and does well to positive reinforcement. She was originally staying with a coworker when abruptly she was tied to a tree by my dumpster and left like trash. I'm not supposed to have dogs where I live but will take care of her until a suitable home is found. Older kids 8 and up would work for Pepper, but she doesn't know her size and can accidentally knock smaller ones down. She is very playful, loves her ball, and enjoys going for walks.

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Eva Dean is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements. Eva is a sweet girl who is slower to warm up and feel comfortable, but given the right environment she will learn to be your new best friend!  Eva previously lived her life outside so is still figuring out that inside the house is safe and with time and patience she will continue to do so.  Eva loves to play with her toys, is playful and even plays fetch!  She is working on being comfortable in her crate and is doing really well with housetraining.  She does well with calm dogs and does better with them outside.  She is working on learning to share and be comfortable sharing her space inside.  Eva also walks well on the leash.  Miss Eva would benefit from training to help her on her path to becoming her best self!January 18, 2026, 10:57 am

If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements. Adam is a really sweet boy!  At first he is slow to warm up but by the third day he was in his foster home he really opened up!  He loves to follow his humans around and lay next to them during the day.  He is good with people and has met kids at some of our adoption events.  He loves hanging out with the resident dogs and he'll lay and snuggle with them and enjoys playing with them too.  He hasn't been noted to resource guard.  He also isn't vocal.  He loves to be outside and run around in the yard.  He's not destructive but occasionally will start to nibble on his doggie bed.  He is easily redirected with a toy.  He is doing very well with housetraining and hasn't had any accidents yet.  He likes his crate and sleeps in it all night without crying.  He's food motivated so he should be easier to train.  Adam is great in the car and usually just takes a nap.  He isn't very high energy but does like to play with toys.  He will snuggle up with his foster humans on the couch at night before bed.  He would do best in a home that is willing to be patient with him while he gets comfortable and then looking for a chill laid back dog.January 19, 2026, 11:32 am
