Maryann has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. All she needs now is a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. Every toy is the best toy ever. Every room is a new place to explore. Every sibling is a potential wrestling partner. He’s playful, curious, and always ready for a good time, but he also has a very sweet side. This is Lincoln. We rescued her from a sad situation, she was skin and bones and unbeknownst to us pregnant, we were 4/5th people to have her. She’s roughly 14-16 months old. When we rescued her she didn’t even have a name, she had never been shown any affection whatsoever and every time we attempted to pet her she would cower to the ground. The only consistent thing before coming to rescue is that she had always been with other dogs. She is good there and would probably be better if she wasn’t the only dog as she seeks comfort and guidance from them. We’ve worked with her and she’s past the skittish phase and is one of the most loving dogs ever seen but will likely take some time to get comfortable in a new home. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and just wants to be loved. This sweet girl is full of personality now. She has come out of her shell and will even throw you a smile. She is a great medium sized dog that weighs about 50 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative. She is being fostered in North Alabama but is available to other areas via transport.

Soft-eyed, soulful, and quietly full of love... this is Pippa Love. She has one of those faces that makes you pause for a second, and then those eyes take over completely. They are the kind of eyes that look like they could keep your secrets and your whole life story with understanding and love. Pippa has a calm, tender presence about her, and while she likes to take it a little slower at first, there is something very special waiting on the other side of that trust. She appears to be a Catahoula and Pittie mix, though with rescue, breed and age are always our best guess. What we do know is that she is a loving girl with a gentle spirit, a calm way about her, and the kind of sweetness that feels even more meaningful because it is earned slowly and honestly. On leash, Pippa is easygoing and enjoyable. She is more of a leisurely stroller than a power walker, and she loves a little guided sweet talk, she does not thrive under stern pressure so keep it sweet. Harsh corrections or too stern a voice go right for her feels so what she really needs is someone who understands that confidence with new routines or places is not rushed, it is built. Give her that kind of kindness and patience, and she is absolutely going to show you her quiet confidence. With other dogs, Pippa has shown us a really lovely balance. She takes meeting new dogs on leash slow and steady but softens quickly into a playful, light-hearted girl who loves a good round of chase. She is thoughtful at first, but once she feels comfortable, she knows how to have fun. What we really love is how beautifully she can shift her playstyle according to the dog. From itty-bitty dogs who were nervous, to larger than her dogs pushing her to play, she adjusts accordingly. We have seen she does not overcorrect or overmanage other dogs in large playgroups and that is such a nice quality. Because of that, we think Pippa could do really well in a home with a medium-energy dog who enjoys a little running and play, especially one who can help show her the ropes without overwhelming her. She would also likely enjoy a home with a yard or a quieter, more suburban-style apartment setting where she can settle in at her own pace. Once she opens up, we can easily picture her becoming that wiggly, devoted family dog who feels deeply and loves fully. Pippa Love is not the kind of dog who barges into the room and demands the spotlight. She is the kind who quietly becomes your whole world. Maverick is a 1-year-old male Catahoula mix who weighs around 30 lbs. Maverick was a stray before coming into the rescue. He was a little shy to start with but has warmed up and is very loving.
