Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 12/4/25 Merle is a neutered male catahoula mix who came into rescue after being found as a stray. He is a very good boy who just needs to learn some basic manners/obedience. He is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. He gets along very well with other dogs and loves all people that he has encountered while in rescue. He has been in a foster home that includes a 4 year old little boy who he loves. Merle has just entered the Paws in Prison program where he will be paired with inmate trainers for 8 weeks. They will work with him on basic obedience, leash walking, etc. They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. Upon graduation, he will have the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test.  Merle is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Douglas — our 72-lb Gentle Giant with a Baby’s Heart Douglas is estimated to be about 1.5–2 years old, and he’s every bit the sweetheart his soft eyes promise. He gets along wonderfully with all dogs, carries himself with calm confidence, and melts the moment you give him attention. This big boy loves nothing more than resting his head on your chest like an oversized baby who just wants to feel close. He listens beautifully, learns quickly, and is already well on his way with potty training. He’s also fully crate trained — he settles in quietly and sleeps through the night without a peep. Douglas is loyal, loving, and ready for a home where he can be someone’s big shadow and best friend. Whoever adopts him will be getting a treasure. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Story
Landon is a 1 year old male Catahoula mix who weighs around 50 lbs. This special boy is seeking an equally special person to love him. Landon LOVES dogs and must be in a home with dogs to continue to thrive. He is cautious of people and it will definitely take a person who has a lot of patience and time to let him warm up at his own pace. Though he is scared of people, Landon has never been aggressive towards volunteers at our facility. He is very food motivated and will need an experienced dog owner who will continue to show him the love he deserves. Landon is neutered, fully vetted and microchipped. Our pups come with one month of free pet insurance when you adopt. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://packleadersrescue.com/adoption-application/
