Story
Ferdinand is a sweet, sweet boy who has a big heart to match his big name! This lovable 1 year old Catahoula-mix boy has the face of an old soul and the personality to match! Because of his calm and gentle behavior, he did great with other dogs, cats, and even tiny kiddos during his day out with us. Ferdinand is not a super big fan of car rides and is 'scared' of pup cups (prefers his own food over human food). But he is a very hard worker and has the skill set to work in a bookstore, thanks to his training with Underground Books this past weekend. This sweet boy is ready for his furever home and would do amazing with any family looking for a quiet 'cuddle bug' to be their new best friend.   *Ferdinand is completing his heartworm treatment and is perfectly healthy!   If you are interested in adopting Ferdinand, or would like any additional information on this sweet furbaby, please call Carroll County Animal Shelter at (770) 214-3590!! All adoptable animals are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and fully vetted to their age.   Shelter Hours: 12:30-4:30 Mon-Wed & Fri, 12:30-6 Thurs, 9-4 Sat, closed Sun (closed the last Friday of every month for training & deep cleaning). Dog meet-n-greets are always strongly encouraged before introducing a new pup to the family, and allow around 2-3 weeks on average for a new animal’s full personality to pop back out again in a new environment. The adoption fee covers the spay/neuter surgery, a 1-year rabies shot, a da2ppv shot (canine distemper/parvo vaccine), heartworm test, deworming and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.  Phone:  770-214-3590March 27, 2024, 2:19 am

Story
Dakota is a young adult probably 3 years old. He weighs about 65 lb. When he arrived he was heartworm positive. He has completed treatment as is doing great. Dakota is friendly but can be distrustful of strangers at first. He walks well on leash and will sit when asked. He can pull a bit. I use a training collar on him. He is well mannered. He will jump up but I've not had him put his feet on me. He loves attention and enjoys going for hikes with me. He would become a devoted, protective companion. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative (on monthly heartworm and flea preventive) and are microchipped. Upon adoption, the microchip will be registered with your contact information and you will be eligible to activate a free 30 day health insurance policy. If you are interested in Dakota, please contact Gail Posey at 678-361-7304 or email pspp_inc@yahoo.com.

Story
Levi is a LARGE boy for his breed. He is sweet as pie, but due to his size he is misunderstood. He would do best in a single dog home and one with only adults. He needs a strong handler and one that is willing to work with him. Levi will do best with a large enclosed fence, or even better yet a large pasture/farmland to run on. Levi is just a big goof ball at heart!

Story
Hi! My name is Marie and I am looking for a forever home! I need to be the only dog in the house since I don't get along with other animals. I also need a little bit of training too. It may take some time to build a connection with you, but once I do I become your very best friend! I'm a big girl so I would love a huge back yard to run around in. I love treats and I love to play! My favorite types of toys are anything that squeaks. Fetch and tag are also some of my favorite games to play with you! I am a sweet girl but I do get scared sometimes. I love belly rubs and I love to swim!

Story
Snuggle. Bunny. Yes, we know Luna is in fact a dog, but we just consider that a bonus! You won't need to file her teeth and good-mannered Luna is much less likely to chew your electrical cords (tho she can hop a fence).  She is much easier to take on walks, tho she thinks cardio is over-rated. This low-key girl much prefers your lap. Thoughtful to a fault, she knows there is no room in that lap for other critters, so asks to be your only snuggle bunny. ~  Est DOB: Mar 2018~  Intake weight:  49#  ~  Adoption details/application: calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlMarch 27, 2024, 10:51 am
