Story
Hi! My name is Radley. I am a 6 year old Great Dane/Catahoula mix. I am the very definition of a “gentle giant,” though I am weighing in at 75lbs. My family loves me oh so very much, but has moved into a smaller space. They know I need freedom to roam and let my nose guide the way! I would be great in a home with lots of yard space, however, when it comes to the home, I am a snuggle bug with the unique talent of rolling into a tight ball to rest. I love other dogs and children, and am very kind to cats as well, however, they certainly pique my interest and I can sometimes forget their need for some personal space. I am good on my vaccinations and am a very healthy girl! I love belly rubs and rubs under my chin, and gazing longingly into your eyes. I can’t wait to be a part of your family, if you so choose.

Story
This sweet baby is Isabelle! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 2/21, and no one has come to reclaim her. You can see that Isabelle has some skin issues, but with medicated baths and a little TLC it will clear up in no time and she'll be just beautiful! We think she already is beautiful, we want the rest of the world to see it! The volunteers describe Isabelle as friendly and affectionate. She will sit nicely when asked, and is super treat motivated so she should learn new things quickly! She is jumpy when excited, but with time and consistent work, she'll learn not to jump up on people. Isabelle is just a puppy so she is curious and playful. If you're interested in adopting a puppy please make sure you have the time, patience, and energy. Puppies are super cute and fun, but they're also a lot of work! Isabelle is approximately 6 months old, and she weighs 28 lbs. She will most likely be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Isabelle will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet this little lady in run 330; her ID # is 653813. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays. The shelter prefers people to make an appointment, go to - https://nqa3.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/as65fg9dr953 and select Adoption. You can also show up between 10:30 & 4:00 Tues. thru Sun. (shelter closes at 4:30), you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can help you. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip. When you book an appointment, it doesn't reserve a particular pet for you. Thank you for considering a Cobb pet!

Story
Are you shy? Do you have a past? Well, so does Jimbo. He came to us from a not so nice person. He was shut down and terrified of everything. Now after some work and confidence building he is learning to trust and to love again. Jimbo is a special guy who just needs patience to make you a friend. He loves other dogs but not so much cats. He is great with women after you've earned his trust. Men are harder for him unfortunately but if you're willing to be patient then maybe you could take a chance on this handsome guy. Once you earn his trust he is the most amazing, loving, kind, silly boy you'd meet! If you're anything like him and have a past you know just how hard it is to gain your trust but when people do you're the best thing in the world. Could he build trust with you? If Jimbo seems like the perfect boy to take a chance on, please apply on the MACS website!February 29, 2024, 11:38 am

Story
Ida Mae is a country girl, she loves the outdoors and the farm life.  She was dumped near a farm and the woman there was kind enough to take her in and put weight back on her and get her vetted.  Unfortunately many dogs are dumped here so she patiently awaits a home of her own. Ida Mae prefers the outdoors and would be a great camping and hiking partner or would love to live and work on a farm.  She is good with most farm animals though we don't know about cats. Ida Mae is located in Tignall GA where there is no formal animal control facility and very little help for homeless pets. Please be willing to meet in the Athens or Madison, GA area -- which is about halfway between here and their foster (who cares for many and can't be too far from home base). Age: 1 yr  Weight: 50 lbs  Training: Housetraining in progress and crate-trained.   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids (no experience with younger/toddlers).    Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.  Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.February 29, 2024, 12:42 pm

This is Apollo. As a catahoula/cur mix, he needs room to run. Fully grown 60-70 pounds. I don’t think he would be a good fit for apartment living. He is friendly with people and other dogs.  Age: Puppy   Weight: TBD   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids   Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW testing at 6 mos.    Training: House training needed, crate trained  For questions, please email loramyers51@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Marie is a real go-getter.  She loves an active life, she loves the water and would like a family who can help her get out her energy and share her zest for life.   She is a little cautious with new people but warms up quickly.  We say she's better with older kids because she is bigger and high energy. She does need to be an only pet. Age: 2 years  Weight: approx 60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: not good with other dogs or cats, initially cautious with new people, best with older kids.  Training: House trained, crate trained, some well trained.  Contact email:  Sheltersxshelvesrescue@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
This is Cinderella, female Catahoula mix. A sweet, loving, not so little girl. She is the smallest of 5 siblings but not by much. My guess for her grownup weight would also be 60-70 pounds. She needs lots of exercise so she would not be a good fit for apartment living. She has been living with her siblings since birth but is good with other dogs as well. She is ready for adoption into a good home. She is fixed, chipped, and fully vetted. Age: 4 mo.   Weight: 15 Temperament: Good with dogs and kids   Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW testing at 6 mos.    Training: House training needed, crate trained  For questions, please email loramyers51@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
