Story
Background/Summary: Caramel Frappe is a very sweet, happy, and somewhat timid young pup. This handsome boy is even more striking in person, and his fur is incredibly soft! It seems he missed out on some early training and socialization, making many experiences feel new and a bit overwhelming for him. Despite this, Caramel Frappe has shown a strong eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to new training. Personality and Behavior: He is a happy and energetic pup who loves being around people. He's been known to jump on people and counters, seeking face licks and ear nuzzles with great enthusiasm. Although he can be a bit mouthy during snuggles, he quickly adapts when shown alternate behaviors. Caramel Frappe did not grab clothes, hands, or his leash, and he's very quick to learn new commands and routines. Training and Learning: -Calm Settle: Mastered quickly, showing his potential to adapt and learn fast. -Sit: Quite good at sitting on command. -Alternate Behaviors: Started approaching with all four feet on the ground and laying on a mat or rug. -Touch: Practiced and did well, although he occasionally used his tongue. -Chewing: Opted for dog toys over household items, indicating good potential for continued positive behavior. -Leash Walking: New to leash walking but does not pull hard and checks in occasionally. -House Training: Initially struggled but showed significant improvement with consistent training, indicating he will get it in no time. -Independent Play: Enjoys playing with toys independently and creating little games for himself. -Snuggling/Sleeping: Loves snuggling and improved on being mouthy with some guidance. Sleeps well through the night and takes to crate training positively. Outings and Socialization: Caramel Frappe is still getting used to walks and new surroundings. He can be a bit shy and nervous in new situations but improves with gentle coaxing and exposure. During walks, he pauses often to observe his environment and may bark at unusual sights or sounds but shows improvement with each outing. His interactions with other dogs have been mostly positive, showing curiosity and interest without aggressive behaviors. Ideal Home: He would thrive in a home where he can continue to learn and grow with consistent training and exposure to new experiences. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to play safely. He would benefit from a family that can provide him with lots of love, patience, and opportunities for socialization and play. With his eagerness to learn and affectionate nature, Caramel Frappe is sure to become a beloved member of any family. If you're looking for a playful, loving, and smart pup to join your family, Caramel Frappe might be the perfect match for you! Put in an application today to meet him and see for yourself how special he is!

Story
Marie is a real go-getter.  She loves an active life, she loves the water and would like a family who can help her get out her energy and share her zest for life.   She is a little cautious with new people but warms up quickly.  No litle kids for her because she is bigger and high energy.  Bigger kids are okay. She does need to be an only pet. Age: 2 years  Weight: approx 60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: not good with other dogs or cats, initially cautious with new people, best with older kids.  Training: House trained, crate trained, some well trained.  Contact email:  Sheltersxshelvesrescue@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded, and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself July 26, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
Ahoy there! SeaBiscuit here, looking to sail away to a good home! Landlubbers say I have gorgeous coloring and am rather unique looking (I would say aye to that.) I narrowly escaped being euthanized for space at an overcrowded shelter but a kind family saw my photo and decided to foster me. Talk about lucky!! Here are a few things to know about me. I am an energetic mate but settle down quickly. My fosters say I just melt into them and can’t get enough cuddling and snuggling. I am good with their teenage daughter and love her so much. I am friendly, playful, fun, know sit, give kisses, affectionate. I am house trained and crate trained. I know sit, lay down commands and I am working on touch, focus, turn, and stay commands. What else do you need to know? I have enjoyed the company of other dogs at the shelter and am trying to make friends with the dog in my foster home, except he’s taking his time to get to know me. I was going to put this message in a bottle but people tell me the internet is faster. So, please consider me, SeaBiscuit and allow me to sail into your home and heart! Check out my YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cv12D8OLm5s Age: 2.9 years Weight: 62 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm  negative and on prevention Temperament: Good with other dogs.  Good with older, respectful kids.   Training, House trained, crate trained, knows several commands  Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Hi, I'm Walter. I am very excited to meet you, and I just know we are going to be best friends. My hobbies include sleeping (a lot!), exploring the world (there's so much to see!), and getting into a little trouble (I'm a puppy after all!). I don't have much life experience yet, but I'm willing to learn if you have the time to teach me. If you have other pets in your home already, I would love to meet them! Do you think I might be the perfect match for you? I sure hope so. Love, Walter!

Story
Levi is a LARGE boy for his breed. He is sweet as pie, but due to his size he is misunderstood. He would do best in a single dog home and one with only adults. He needs a strong handler and one that is willing to work with him. Levi will do best with a large enclosed fence, or even better yet a large pasture/farmland to run on. Levi is just a big goof ball at heart!
