Story
Hi, I’m Opal! I am a good-natured, happy girl, eager to follow whatever rules you set. I’m young, and my foster house is the first house where I’ve lived, so I need direction. I was potty trained, learned how to use stairs, and was crate trained in the first week. Now I can even walk on a loose leash. I am very smart and I communicate well. I like to play and walk, and I really like to be with my people. If you’re in the kitchen, I want to be in the kitchen lying at your feet and maybe licking your toes. I make clear signals when I want something. For example, when I want to go outside, I walk to the back door and touch the door knob to make it rattle. If no one lets me out, I search for the nearest person, put my paw on your chest, and make a noise while I look deep into your eyes. I like it especially when you come with me and we are outside together. I react to all the noises because I don’t know what they are, but I take directions very easily and will come to you when called. I like being outside so much that I roll on my back with my legs in the air in happiness.I live with two big dogs now, and I am about 60 pounds myself, but I might do best being an only dog. I’ll look to my human for direction and I’m happy to do whatever you’re doing. I love chewing, on toys, ice, and boxes. I chase balls, and I like to play with a huge exercise ball, a soccer ball, and tennis balls. I like to chew on buffalo horns and dig stuffing out of stuffed animals, and I will tear up all the cardboard from food boxes to help you recycle. I respond well to positive redirection and I’ll take my cues from you. I cant wait to meet you and start our new adventure! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedures completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time.Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
